Milk-Carton MendacityWhose smears of FNC are more dishonest, the Outfoxed gals or the Crooks
& Liars? No contest!
The Fox-haters never let an opportunity pass to take a shot at Bill
O'Reilly. The facts don't matter, because they are disposable--just make up your
own! Submitted for your consideration, the website "Crooks and Liars", which
headlines:
O’Reilly: I Would Execute Everyone At Gitmo The reference is to an interview Mr Bill did with Pierce O'Donnell. C&L continues: So what would Fox’s Bill O’Reilly do to fix the problem? Kill ‘em all: This isn't original reporting by C&L; they picked up the story from another far-left site: Think Progress. But we have to wonder how stupid C&L thinks its readers are. They have a video clip of the interview. So they know their headline is a lie--a HeadLie: O'DONNELL: These people don't care about any of those things. They're anathema to them, and we have to root them out same as we did fascism and we did communism. O'REILLY: All right, well I'm for that. O'DONNELL: But in the same way, do not, as we honor the dead and 9/11 approaches, let's also celebrate our living Bill of Rights and give it vigor. O'REILLY: OK, but I don't give the Bill of Rights protection or the constitution protection or the Geneva convention to people, not in uniform, slaughtering-- O'DONNELL: What about Mr Padilla? A US citizen? O'REILLY: --that's a different game--but to people slaughtering civilians. I don't give them any protection. I don't feel sorry for them. In fact, I probably would have ordered their execution if I had the power. Where does Mr Bill say he would execute everyone at Gitmo? He doesn't--they made that up! Can these people not understand plain English declarative sentences? People, not in uniform, slaughtering US citizens. How exactly does that morph into "everyone at Gitmo"?! Like we said, to the Fox-haters the facts don't matter. Still, these amateurs at Crooks & Liars can't hold a scented candle to the masters of misinformation, the newshounds (another fine product of the Outfoxed mafia). Oh no, we said "mafia"! Why is that a big deal? Just ask deborah: An Insult To Italy From Fox This, as always, was enough to convince the credulous: me thinks this could be a 'racial slur'....Posted by: Scarlet Now for our favorite part, all the things deceitful deborah didn't tell you. Let's start with the banner:
Alert viewers (which leaves out any of the newspups) will notice something. The phrase "mafia-style" is in quotes. Now we realize that for deb and the newspooches, quote marks are an invitation to put made-up doctored phrases between them. But for those who practice real journalism, fair and balanced, quote marks indicate that, well, somebody or something is being quoted. But even that wasn't enough of a clue for debbie. And heaven forbid that she actually spend ten seconds to do a Google search and turn up this: 'Mafia-style' immunity deal could put suspect beyond reach of British law By Richard Owen, Daniel McGrory and Richard Ford THE Italian lawyer for one of the alleged London bombers is trying to get him “a Mafia-style deal” to give him a new identity and immunity if he co-operates with investigators in Rome. It turns out not to have been Doocy's wording at all. Deb tries to make you think it is, saying oh it wasn't a slip of the tongue. Of course it wasn't--he was quoting the London Times! And talk about clues, how is it that debbie neglected to tell you that Doocy said up front where the story came from? DOOCY: And now there's news out of one of the London newspapers that that man there, Hamdi Isaac, his Italian lawyer is trying to get him a "mafia-style deal"... So Fox put the phrase in quotes, Doocy says flat out it's from a London paper, a Google search turns up the article in under ten seconds. But debbie pretends it was Doocy's "inappropriate" choice of words, and omits anything that might lead her gullible readers to think otherwise. Unfortunately, several commenters spotted the Times article and debbie had to do one of her "stealth" rewrites, one of those deals where she inserts new info as if it had been there all along, without telling anyone that she made changes (that's called hound integrity). Despite this humiliation, the newsmutts weren't ready to abandon their passionate campaign against the vicious slur, "mafia": It's offensive and inflammatory, right up their alley. Posted by: Chrish This is strange, because the hounds allowed this insensitive, offensive, inflammatory, racist term to be used over and over on their site: Without all their shameless, brainless and blatant shennanigens [sic], WE would still be asleep with dreams that our news was really news, and our government hadn't been taken over by a Political mafia. Astonishingly, debbie and chrish didn't jump in to complain that these people were being offensive and insensitive. "Scarlet" didn't object to these scurrilous racial slurs. One word: hypocrites. And then there's newspoodle Melanie who starts off with a big, honking HeadLie: Fox News Joins Slimy Campaign to Smear Air America This can be disposed of in short order. Just read the transcript. It's obviously a debate between two opposing points of view. In fact, the pro-Err America side clearly got more time. Only in the twisted psyche of the curs can presenting two sides of an issue be called a slimy smear campaign. But Mel has more to say about this Cavuto broadcast: Cavuto Reports the Opposite of What's True See? That proves that Mr Cavuto was lying about the economy. Even if what he said was true (July retail sales are up--3.7%). And to make sure that the credulous don't get any specifics that might tend to, well, confuse them, she edits out the details that Cavuto included: CAVUTO: Wal-Mart [sales] up about four and a half percent as we said; a little bit better than that at Costco. So you name the store, people were buying from that store. That's not all Melanie edited. She also neglected to mention that when Cavuto gave the market summary, he tied the losses directly to the July numbers that were released today. Neglected to mention? More like falsified--because despite what Cavuto said, Melanie reported the opposite. It was astonishing, and contemptible. What's more, she exhumed another hound trick: the invisible man. If someone appears on a program who doesn't fit the hound spin--erase him! Leave him out! And it turns out that Cavuto's "report" wasn't a report at all, but an introduction to a segment where he interviewed two other people who disagreed with him! What, this wasn't relevant to Melanie? It deserved no mention at all? Yeah, right. There was a reason Melanie wanted to avoid their views of the sales numbers: DAVID NELSON [FORBES]: It was clearly a disappointment... When you don't deliver perfection, when you're priced that way...if you're not going to deliver when your stock is that high, you're going to get punished, and they got punished today. ADAM LASHINSKY [FORTUNE]: There's zero savings in America...the American consumer cannot survive a hiccup....Economies run out of steam. Two more missing persons to be added to the anti-Fox terriers' virtual milk cartons. Not bad for a day's work in the kennel. But wait, there's more! There is yet another "invisible man" to expose. And, incredibly enough, it's Neil Cavuto himself! First let's stroll down memory lane and check out Melanie's Grooveyard of Forgotten Favorites, with a special focus on her insistence that Cavuto and Fox hate Martha Stewart (aka The Liar): Cavuto, again doing the Martha-dissing...Fox's audience was left with the impression that Martha Stewart is a pampered, rich woman who is getting special treatment over and above what "the folks" would get. Obviously Mel is quite invested in The Liar and her legal and financial situations. And yet, for some reason, she completely omits any mention of the Martha Stewart coverage on this same edition of Your World. Cavuto's closing analysis is often the subject of snide comments from Melanie--but not today. Could it be because it doesn't fit the fanciful fabric of fiction Melanie has woven about Cavuto and Ms Stewart? So, just don't mention it. See, proof that Fox is biased, because if Mel doesn't report it, then it never happened. But you can read Cavuto's commentary on the extension of The Liar's house arrest for yourself: I guess we're all better off knowing that bracelet isn't coming off so soon. But not a word about all those sex offenders out there whose whereabouts none of us knows. Where are their ankle bracelets? Where's the fuss over their comings and goings? No, Martha takes a four-wheeler out of her house and authorities clamp down to make sure she stays "in" her house. I just find it amazing we spend so much time focusing on Martha petting her horses' heads that we fail to see the people policing her are horses' asses. Now compare Cavuto's sentiments with Melanie's own words: I can think of some people who should be in prison right now for things much worse that anything Martha Stewart has ever done. Pretty uncanny. No wonder Melanie had to make Neil Cavuto the final "invisible man" in her latest diatribe. How can she smear someone who is echoing her own opinion? Just leave it out--that will keep the gullible from catching on to the semantic snake oil she sells at bargain prices. At least until we reveal the hound behind the curtain. posted: Fri - August 5, 2005 at 12:08 AM j$p  send chris golas just curious how many people read newshounds and not this site, and read this site and not newshounds. and i wonder who reads both like me I know you dont know the answer-but its very intersting, you can debunk all the lies but if people just read one site and dont bother to read the other site then they dont know the truth. its very intersting August 8, 2005, 12:17:52 AM EDT – Like – Reply johnny dollar You are correct, chris. THat's why the hounds have set their site up to block any poster from including a link to any article on this site. That's why I was banned months ago, and others get banned regularly, for doing nothing more than pointing out their falsehoods. August 8, 2005, 12:38:19 AM EDT – Like – Reply OverHere I am so glad the hounds pointed me over here (no pun intended) by their constant bashing. I was so frustrated because I thought there was no way to let people know what liars they are. I tried to point that out as often as possible but you know the truth gets lost in all their comments. Keep up the good work Johnny! August 11, 2005, 9:12:07 AM EDT – Like – Reply |
