A Swift Kick in the SheehansThe echo chamber has spoken, and the Outfoxed gals give new meaning to
the term "pack journalism". With J$P Video!
It's like a swarm of bees...or maybe a pack of dogs. The concept of
"herd mentality" has never been more obvious than it has been at the newshounds
(another fine product of the Outfoxed syndicate). Just watch the websites of the
radical far-left ideologues and you can track what the latest hound obsession
will be. Karl Rove! No, wait, forget about Rove, it's John Bolton! John who?
We're talking about Cindy Sheehan! And when the cause de jour gets the mongrels
into a tizzy, that's when the
fun really
begins:
On Tuesday's "O'Reilly Factor," O'Reilly repeated the right-wing smear (started by the Drudge Report) that Sheehan has changed her opinion on the war since her family and other grieving military families met with Bush a year ago. Really? Did judy even bother to read what Drudge wrote? If so, she lied about it: The mother of a fallen U.S. soldier...has dramatically changed her account about what happened when she met the commander-in-chief last summer! But judy isn't through yet: O'Reilly and far-right pundit Michelle Malkin both accused her of flip-flopping on the war How odd. The Talking Points memo for that program doesn't make that claim. And we listened to the entire interview, twice, and there was nothing from either Mr Bill or Ms Malkin about her changing her opinion on the war. Not one word. So where did judy get this from? She made it up! And then, judy has the nerve to call the interview "dishonest journalism"! Pot, meet kettle. Cindy, the courageous parent, backed out of her scheduled appearance on The Factor. When Mr Bill booked another antiwar mother, deborah rushed in to do damage control. How to spin this to make Fox look bad? Easy. Claim O'Reilly tried to "intimidate" the guest (who was given two complete program blocks, something debbie doesn't mention) and top it off with: Then he peppered her with a string of bizarre questions. Peppered? attack and bombard with or as if with missiles; "pelt the speaker with questions" Such intimidation and badgering of the witness must be revealed for all to see [QuickTime video clip]: O'Reilly really bombarded the poor woman, didn't he? Such intimidation! Alert readers will also note that not one of deborah's quotes is accurate--we expect that from the newspoodles. But there is more from deceitful debbie: Tonight on The O'Reilly Factor, John Gibson set out to transform Cindy Sheehan's image into someone less likely to draw public support and sympathy. Um, sorry deb. No he didn't: STOLL: She's been in league with these very extreme groups. The groups that arranged this conference call is called Code Pink, and it's part of this steering committee for United for Peace and Justice, along with the Communist Party USA... Then he referred to a ridiculous poll claiming that 67% agreed that the attacks on our troops were legitimate acting as if that actually meant that people were for the war. What do you know? Once again, it was not John Gibson who said this: STOLL: The New York Sun sent reporters out to interview those [RNC convention] protesters. 67% of the people we interviewed said they agreed that attacks on American troops in Iraq was legitimate. You're not doing too well when you can't tell the difference between Ira Stoll and John Gibson. So now Cindy Sheehan is no longer portrayed as a woman of strength and conviction exercising her rights as a U.S. citizen. Now she is a person recruited by the extreme left to deliver their evil and anti-american message... And the credulous swallow the bait hook, line, and sinker: they just told them exactly what they (the viewers) wanted to hear... Posted by: il128 Yes, it's a Fox conspiracy, thanks to debbie and her use of the "invisible man" technique (for new readers, it is explained here). In this case what did deb omit? How about the fact that Mr Stoll was followed by an interview with Democrat strategist Mary Ann Marsh, who spent an entire program block extolling Ms Sheehan ("Cindy Sheehan's fighting for the truth...she deserves the truth.") Now why do you suppose deb doesn't tell anyone about this? Could it be..."dishonest journalism"? But this isn't the most blatant example of the invisible man technique that the curs have pulled this week. Let's set the scene: as we said, the newsmutts picked up their theme from the radical echo chamber. Fox, don't you know, is out to attack Cindy Sheehan, and keep her message from their viewers. So The Crazy Years claims: Bush ignores her, and Fox attacks her... Trish and Harold team up to reinforce the party line: This is going to get messier and messier... not that you'll hear a thing about it on CNN or Fox news....posted by Trish Egan & Harold Phillips @ 8/10/2005 11:08:00 AM Skookum invents a nonexistent conspiracy between Clear Channel and Fox News: Newshounds has the story on Clear Channel and Fox news' plans to smear and intimidate Cindy Sheehan and Gold Star Families for Peace. But Make It Electric takes the prize: Articles on Sheehan have also stated that Fox News (of course) has chosen to snub any coverage of Sheehan....posted by Komiza @ 8/10/2005 10:58 AM Articles? What articles are those? Don't bother checking the link. He didn't provide even a single example. And how could he? Since this is what aired on Fox just one day before Electric's mysterious "articles" and their scoop about Fox "snubbing" Cindy Sheehan [QuickTime video clip]: Oops. How does this fit into the grand conspiracy? How is this a snub? How is it an attack? Don't ask the newspooches. For all their fulminating about Fox and Sheehan (close to a dozen articles by last count), this interview doesn't seem to rate a mention. Not one word. The ultimate invisible man, or in this case, woman. Condemn the bias on Fox, rail against how partisan it is--but when Sheehan herself is interviewed, don't mention it. They have to keep up the facade that Fox is one-sided, after all. Might this be "dishonest journalism"? The hounds have to keep propping up their phony claims about Fox's coverage of Sheehan, so they decide it's Bad Analogy Time: FOX News Hypocrisy: Natalee Holloway vs. Cindy Sheehan This seemed like a bridge too far even for the average Joes in the kennel, and their comments didn't take kindly to ellen's bizarre comparison: I do not equate the two mothers on the same level here. Beth Holloway Twitty does not have a political agenda, she is not seeking national attention for herself, but for her missing daughter and she is not an egomaniac... I will fight with all my heart to see our boys and girls come home from a war that should never have started, but I will not do it standing alongside Miss Sheehan. I do not share her real agenda.... Posted by: Patrick Hurley Another insurrection brewing among the Joes. But ellen and her toadies take a unique approach: attack Natalee Holloway and her family! No, we're not making this up: The Twittys have gotten the media to do their bidding, too. When have you heard a single tough question to them about how it was that Natalee was running around in the middle of the night with strange boys? Posted by: ellen We began looking for "dishonest journalism". We found that, and much more--lies, distortions, and repellent personal attacks on a missing woman and the family that desperately seeks answers. It's hard to conceive how the pooches could possibly sink any lower, but history teaches that their turpitude should never be misunderestimated. posted: Fri - August 12, 2005 at 06:45 PM j$p  send | |
