Not quite what he said but if you want to spin it that way then drive on. 
One could argue that fascism is the ultimate form of patriotism, i.e. putting your country in front of your own interests. Not that I support the idea of fascism but you really should understand exactly what you are talking about.

I do, Tommy Franks is a fascist piece of trash for questioning someone's patriotism for not liking the performance of an American general during a time of war.
If he wants to fight back against McCain, go ahead, just do so in a way that doesn't involve, "HURR YOU MUST NOT BE A PATRIOT". Right-wing neanderthal.

Ok you say that Tommy Franks is a fascist because he is a patriot so using that same logic applied to your original post you are offended that the General would question McCain's fascism? Wouldn't that then be a compliment to McCain? Put another way his politics got in the way of his fascism?
