'It's a Cheap Political Point and You Know It!'J$P Video! Geraldo Rivera + Bill O'Reilly = Factor
Fireworks!
From The O'Reilly Factor, April 5
2007:
Geraldo and Mr Bill all but punch each other out as they debate the case of an illegal alien drunk driver accused of killing two girls. You can view the complete, unedited segment at foxnews.com. Our clip begins about two minutes in, as the discussion starts to get heated [QuickTime video]: posted: Thu - April 5, 2007 at 09:30 PM j$p  send Fox Fan That was a good segment, but I didn't get the impression that O'Reilly was as angry as he was putting on. That said, their later point that Fox News offers fair and balanced news because of polarized discourses such as this is on point. April 6, 2007, 8:19:50 AM EDT – Like – Reply BrianNYC I don't understand Geraldo's point, is it: "don't hate Ramos because he broke US immigration laws, was previously charged with being drunk in public, driving without a license, identity theft, no seat belt, no insurance, pubic swearing and intoxication, but rather, hate him ONLY because he was a drunk driver?" April 6, 2007, 10:25:31 AM EDT – Like – Reply BrianNYC I am slightly aware of a current study which purports that upwards of 5,000 US citizens per year are killed and/or murdered by illegal aliens. Since liberals have associated the term "epidemic" with far smaller numbers, don't you think it's time we give this study a fair review? April 6, 2007, 10:32:46 AM EDT – Like – Reply Tom "Geraldo's very existence on FNC goes a long way to prove that point too." No it doesn't, Geraldo is a war cheerleader and generally a conservative who enthusiastically supports Bush, with only recognizably liberal positions on things like immigration. The man is by no means a Rick Santorum, Sean Hannity or Ann Coulter of the Left. All the segment proved was that Bill O'Reilly is an unhinged nut, so it was good for that reason alone. The segment later on that night in fact proved the opposite, when two partisan Republicans were brought onto H&C and a non-political Iranian former hostage. Fox proves its bias once again (and the crazed-foaming-at-the-mouth nature of some of its hosts). April 6, 2007, 12:26:10 PM EDT – Like – Reply johnny dollar Geraldo is "generally a conservative"? Sheesh, I should know better than to expect an answer from Tom, but here goes anyhow... Tell us, Tom, Geraldo's "generally conservative" views on the issues, specifically: abortion, gay rights, tax cuts, minimum wage, and global warming. In your own words. April 6, 2007, 12:34:13 PM EDT – Like – Reply Tom This coming from the guy who continues to claim that Tammy Bruce is a Democrat, or a "liberal"? Tell me, Johnny, does Geraldo Rivera actually express these supposedly "liberal" points of view on air over at Fox, other than immigration? No, he doesn't. Geraldo is only brought on to do one of two things: Talk about non-political tabloid garbage, talk about immigration, or cheerlead for the Iraq War. Tell me, Johnny, what are O'Reilly's positions? Pro-abstinence only education Anti-stem cell research Pro-life Pro-tax cuts for the rich Anti-immigration Pro-Iraq War Endorsed 3 separate Republicans and opposed 3 separate Democrats in various elections But he's not a Republican at all, right Johnny? Oh, no, Bill's an independent! If Geraldo was conservative on 98% of the issues, and liberal on 2%, you would use that as a justification to say he's either a "liberal" or a "moderate". Regardless, what Geraldo is, is generally a moron, and seeing him and O'Reilly yell was delightfully entertaining, since it was like watching two caged apes go at it. Johnny remember when Geraldo was on CNBC and use to blow kisses to Clinton at the end of the show? I wish the mutts would come on here insted of sending a 'bucket carrier'. It's absolutely funny what he brings, the same thing day after day. And what's even funnier! He thinks most of America believes him. Tom doesn't see the fact that two girls are dead because of a 3x drunk driver. Because Tom and his mutt girlfriends are so into the hate of a News channel, they could care less about two girls in the ground turning into worm food because of a 3x drunk driver. Tom I hope your parents are real proud of you. Faux News? hey Tom! You and the mutts show me where there are two faux dead girls by a faux illegal 3x drunk driver in Virginia Beach. There are two dead girls in the ground and you and your poodle girlfriends want to turn it into a cheap shot on FNC. What a class less bunch you are. You mind doing me a favor? You and the mutts go down to Virginia Beach and go to the parents of the dead girls and spew your stupidity about FNC. And then you and the mutts can go to the Motel after and have a circle jerk to your boy Olby when he takes his cheap shot tonight. Go ahead! Laugh it up! Two dead girls and everybody on your side is turning it into a way to bash FNC. Do you know how small you and the mutts look right now? I have talked with far left loons today that won't jump on the bash FNC bandwagon today. Mutts, Tom is it getting through to you? Two girls are DEAD! But you want to bash FNC. Thank God. No! THANK GOD! The vast majority of America is not like your crew! Doubt it, Johnny. You can't respond to anything. Once in a while you choose to respond by asking questions, but you refuse, yourself, to actually defend Fox. Which is strange, considering that this is YOUR blog, not mine. If I had a blog attacking Fox, I would be obligated to respond to commenters challenging my assertions. Obviously conservatives don't feel the same responsibility belongs to them. Because, of course, they can't defend Fox when members of Fox News are essentially admitting their own network is biased, when internal memos in Fox use Republican talking points, when all of their commentators who have their own shows are Republicans and some prominent national columnists for the "conservative movement" even admit Fox is biased. But at this point it's obvious the facts don't matter, because Johnny is living in his own little world, and in his delusional world, even if Roger Ailes HIMSELF admitted Fox was a Republican network, he would just say "IT'S ALL LEFTY LIES!!!" God, this is hillarious. Two morons on Fox slugging it out, and O'Reilly using the deaths of two more kids to make political points? Can we say Terri Schiavo, anyone? Remember that? When the soulless pigs at the Fox News Channel used a BRAINDEAD WOMAN to try to score points for the Religious Right, and it backfired badly, Bush's approval fell 10 points, Congress's fell 15 points and basically it turned the GOP into a joke. No, bet you guys are trying to suppress that memory of your heroes at Fox News. Yes, that clip is out there courtesy of Oliver Willis from Media Matters. And you KNOW why he cut it off before the end. To his credit, TVNewser, when it was brought to his attention, did link to our longer clip as well. I'm confused. Am I defending Fox? Or am I refusing to defend Fox? Oh wait, I'm not confused. I know the answer. The confusion appears to be Tom, who can't decide if I'm defending Fox or refusing to defend Fox. Here's a hint for you, Tom. Both of those can't be correct. And one of them isn't. April 6, 2007, 3:50:15 PM EDT – Like – Reply Tom "Hey Tom, who once claimed the Fox News website had no videos with Democrats (guffaw!)" Actually, no, I claimed that the Fox News website had no Democrats at all on one specific day. The next day, one popped up (a new interview, shocker!) and then you used that to claim I was wrong, a day AFTER the fact. Obviously, at some point, the Fox News Website's archive (it's not really an "archive", it only goes back about a week or two) is going to have a Democrat in it. Question is, what's the ratio, and how often don't they have any at all? That at some point the Fox News archive doesn't have ANY Democrats shows how lopsidedly Republican Fox is. Go ahead and check Fox News.com right now. Count up the Republicans/Conservatives and Dems/Libs in the videos. Go ahead, tough guy. April 6, 2007, 5:09:34 PM EDT – Like – Reply johnny dollar > it's not really an "archive", it only goes back about a week or two Bzzt! Wrong again. Now, you want to tell me again all those Geraldo "conservative" positions, like his views on abortion, stem cell, gay rights, tax cuts, minimum wage, and global warming? You said he was a conservative, so tell us all his conservative viewson those issues. I assume you weren't lying or making it up when you said he's a conservative, so spell it out, in your own words. Count it up yourself Tom, over a year of archives for you to peruse. Of course, Fox has archives back to their inception internally. I won't waste my time but if you find an entire day without "(any) Democrats at all on one specific day" let us know and we'll concede. April 6, 2007, 10:09:52 PM EDT – Like – Reply Fox Fan No numbers or dates yet to back up your blatantly false claims Tom? Looks like you're the one who is conceding. Silently. Again. April 7, 2007, 10:49:03 AM EDT – Like – Reply Tom And oh yes, Johnny, if you would like confirmation that Geraldo Rivera is in fact, not a liberal, I suggest you turn into Fox News. Geraldo is whining and crying about Christians and Evangelicals are supposedly "under siege" and "America's moral decline", uttering the same old tired Republican talking points. April 8, 2007, 8:42:58 PM EDT – Like – Reply Tom Geraldo is actually criticizing ANN COULTER for not being conservative enough for him, Geraldo is insisting that South Park doesn't have a legal right to criticize Christianity. So yeah, Johnny, Geraldo is a liberal, MY ASS. April 8, 2007, 8:44:37 PM EDT – Like – Reply johnny dollar Tom again has a problem telling the truth. Geraldo never once criticized Ann Coulter for not being conservative enough. He never said anything APPROACHING was "Tom" claims about South Park "doesn't have a legal right to criticize Christianity". Yes, I just played the segment back. Tom's allegations? Made up. It's interesting though that "tom" is of the opinion that anti-Christian bigotry is the hallmark of a liberal, and that if one is opposed to such bigotry they must be a "conservative". Perhaps that is Tom's position, but I've never seen that on any checklist of political leanings. Still it's a convenient way for "Tom" to divert attention from the very simple question I asked. If Geraldo is so conservative, what are his positions on abortion, stem cell, gay rights, tax cuts, minimum wage, and global warming? Somehow "Tom" desperately avoids answering that question, preferring instead to make untrue statements about Geraldo talking to Ann Coulter. We report, you decide. April 8, 2007, 9:26:57 PM EDT – Like – Reply Fox Fan We're also still waiting on that data on when Fox had an entire day without any democrats on their website at all.
