J$P Video! The firing of Don Imus provokes fireworks between Bo Dietl and Dick Morris

From The Big Story, March 16 2007:

Morris gives a laundry list of Imus Great Moments. Earlier Dietl had criticized Barack Obama, and Morris didn't like the way Dietl emphasized the Senator's middle name [QuickTime video]:

More GOP propaganda from Fox!

I disagree with censorship 99% of the time and think Imus has a right to say what he wants. The racial double standard is appalling. People can say whitey and cracker all day long (Comedy Central anyone?) but "nappy headed hos" gets you fired? Dick Morris was bloviating excessively in this clip.

Apparently Dick Morris has disliked Imus for many years.

I wonder if there is some history between the two.

"More GOP propaganda from Fox!"

What? This issue is practically non-political. Imus supported Kerry in 2004, but now he supports McCain in 2008. He called Hillary a "buck-toothed witch". I fail to see how this one political segment proves anything. Morris is generally a reliable anti-Democratic pundit on Fox, a major Clinton basher, and the other guest was a right-wing fanatical Republican.

So that's your idea of Fair and Balanced? That's like saying if CNN had Al Franken on to debate Harold Ford, that it would be "fair and balanced", because they may be both Democrats, but they disagree.

Idiotic logic. Michelle Malkin is guest-hosting for Bill O'Reilly, RIGHT NOW.

You remember her? Michelle "Sticing the Japs in Internment Camps Was a Great Idea!" Malkin, a Republican fanatic?

Fair and balanced.

What was anti-Democratic about Morris's comments here? I missed it.

So what do ya think? Bo Dietl walking the streets of Miami looking for Dick Morris tonight?

Talk about the odd couple, But that's what makes FNC great. They will put on some real out of the norm combos sometimes.

Hey Tom & hounds! How about that Bill O'Reilly getting 3.2 million viewers last night with that far right wing Al Sharpton on?

Better tell your boy 'The Toxic Avenger of The Airwaves' to get crackin'.

Tom isn't counting up guests today. He forgot to do Cavuto, he forgot to do Gibson, he forgot to do the Factor. Instead, he's insisting that Dick Morris's comments to Bo Dietl make Dick Morris "anti-Democratic"! On the bright side, maybe he's busy working to back up all the charges he never backed up (Geraldo, me, that bet he never paid off re Hannity & Colmes, etc).

Johnny: Is this the same Dick Morris that said on Fox that Al Gore would have made a great President?

I guess I didn't get the memo that said that Bo Dietl is a Republican.

Tom: To clarify your half-truths, Morris may dislike Hillary but he loves Bill. Didn't he help him get re-elected in '96?

Did you see 'The Factor' tonight with Malkin in for O'Reilly?

I just watched it. My jaw dropped!!!!!
Hot air is running a double feature, sort of.

"What was anti-Democratic about Morris's comments here? I missed it."

he didn't talk about Democrats other than Obama, now did he? And he admitted he's pulling for Guiliani, didn't he?

Before you were just terrible, now you're just getting bizarre, Johnny. Claiming Dick Morris attacking Don Imus makes Fox fair and balanced? LoL, know what we like to call that kind of a logical fallacy?

A Non sequitur. It does not follow.

" Johnny: Is this the same Dick Morris that said on Fox that Al Gore would have made a great President?"

No, this is the same Dick Morris that questioned Al Gore's sanity.

"I guess I didn't get the memo that said that Bo Dietl is a Republican."

He's identified himself as a Republican repeatedly.

"Tom: To clarify your half-truths, Morris may dislike Hillary but he loves Bill. Didn't he help him get re-elected in '96?""

Morris "triangulated" Clinton, meaning he told Clinton to adopt CONSERVATIVE policies like welfare reform and free trade. Morris attacks Bill Clinton all the time on Fox, are you living in a dream world? Don't mistake Morris saluting Bill Clinton's political skill as some sort of "I like Bill". No, he doesn't, he trashes him all the time. He simply recognizes that Clinton was an excellent politician, as clearly evidenced by the fact that 60% of the country likes Clinton.

Additionally, you pointing out that Morris worked for him in 1996 is as pointless as noting that Tammy Bruce was a liberal Democrat back in 1996. Now she's anti-affirmative action, anti-gun control, pro-neoconservative foreign policy, pro-Iraq War, pro-throwing illegal immigrants out, anti-universal health care, pro-social security privization, opposes gay marriage, opposes gays in the military and admittedly VOTES for Republicans.

People change, now don't they?

We've established in a half dozen other threads that if I count up guests and post them, showing the massive bias at Fox, that you'll simply delete my post, claiming it's off topic.

Amazing, isn't it? I challenge you to count up the guests with me, and you run like a coward and refuse. Then you switch hands later, when you're losing an argument, and claim, "Well... YOU DIDN'T COUNT UP ALL THE GUESTS".

So I'm curious Johnny, were you for counting up political guests before you were against it?

Because it often is. These threads are not a stream-of-consciousness smorgasboard for Tom to spout off on whatever comes into his head. They are held to a topic for a reason: to prevent irrelevant nonsense from clogging up a discussion.

> he didn't talk about Democrats other than Obama, now did he?

Oh, well if he only talked about Obama, that doesn't count. He has to talk about Mike Gravel, maybe. All this time I though Obama WAS a Democrat. So what did he say about Obama that was "anti-Democratic"? I'm still waiting for that one. Like I'm waiting for Geraldo's conservative positions, quotes that prove what party I belong to, the bet you made regarding H&C, etc etc. You know, Tom's Greatest Misses.

Last time I counted up guests on O'Reilly, showing more liberal guests than conservative, in a comment thread here Tom expressed disbelief. It was later proven that there were IN FACT more democrat guests. Tom conveniently fell silent just as he always does on the multitude of comment threads he loses his pathetic arguments on.

My favorite Tom comment so far has been "LOL, grow up."

Fox Fan: Speaking of guests, today on Tucker, his panel consisted of:

1. Hillary Rosen, Democratic Strategist.

2. Peter Fenn, Democratic Strategist.

And Tucker's panel gets about 25 minutes of face time, about 5 minutes more than the panel on "Special Report With Brit Hume."

IOW, just the type of fair and balanced discussion that Tom loves!
