A couple of things a little off topic from today’s blog posts. First, was not impressed with the Jorge Ramos interview with Ann Coulter last night. All they did was talk over each other & didn’t like how snarky and nasty her tone was with the young people in the audience. Enjoyed her schtick 15 years ago but not so much now.
Second, is Karl Rove or his PAC working for any of the presidential candidates so far? Couldn’t help wondering this as he was negatively discussing Rand Paul on O’Reilly last night. If he is, that should be disclosed up front IMHO.

Do you think there much doubt that he’ll be supporting Jebbers?

  • Larry Kelly

If Trump declares and ranks in top ten in the polls, fair is fair.

    • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

Only if he agrees to appear without whatever he wears on his head.

    • Lurker

Trump isn’t running, he’ll have to reveal his net worth & that’s not happening cause it’s lower than people think

      • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

        I agree. He’s just on a self-promoting ego trip.

        • Again?

          • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

Always. He makes a siamese cat look modest.

          • gcblues

            i warned you.

      • The Real Royal Emperor

Perhaps he’ll be Palin’s running mate.

    • The Real Royal Emperor

Indeed. I should like Trump to become the face of the Republican Party.

  • Larry Kelly

Look for Giffin to be tried for perjury right after Rev. Al is tried for tax fraud.

    • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

In the words of another perjurer who got away with it, “It depends on what the definition of ‘is’ is.”

  • Cecelia

Sad that Ronan no doubt paid a hefty sum for a designer to make his crib look like a Pottery Barn ad.

    • The Real Royal Emperor

So, you’re not going Pottery Barn in the home in the hills? Good for you. Unless you’re going IKEA Provincial, of course. That being said, I can go almost any place in the world and enjoy IKEA ambience.

      • Cecelia

I have a couple of IKEA pieces in my house.

Good design, straight forward utility, at a price for the masses.

        • Marty

          So bourgeois.

          • Cecelia

Yeah. Jackass doesn’t know the difference between style and cookie-cutter.

      • Cecelia

        BTW, Mr. Snark,

I could spend $100.00 at Walmart and make any room in your house look twice as good as it looks now.

It’s not in the expense, it’s in the execution.

        • The Real Royal Emperor

Doubt it. Into American primitives, especially cypress pieces.

          • Cecelia

First rule of collections: Have something else in the room too.

          • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

Let’s face it, Cece, Goodwill would be a good choice for him.

          • Cecelia

            I love Goodwill.

          • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

It is good for used books.

          • Cecelia

I’ve found many treasures there. The best being six Wedgewood Majolica lettuce leaf plates.

          • The Real Royal Emperor

Indeed. Antique steins. Some nice crystal. Fantastic iron skillet. An Italian leather jacket. A treasure trove.

          • Cecelia

I got my favorite iron skillet at a Goodwill or Salvation Army place too. Took some time and attention to restore.

          • The Real Royal Emperor

Which explains limestone walls, panoramic windows and shelves of well-bound books and travel whatnots.

          • Cecelia

You’ve got to limit and mediate (through contrasting color and texture) American primitive pieces in a room, which ultimately works to highlight them.

Otherwise it looks like a Middle Earth lodge for hobbits and the Seven Dwarfs.

          • The Real Royal Emperor

It’s a style called American Minimalism. No window coverings. No kluttery kitsch.

          • Cecelia

            Lots of white?

  • 23 hours after Mr. Bill revealed the next Killing book, I still can’t believe it slipped my mind that Reagan was a possible subject. After all, he survived the assassination attempt.

    • A viewer e-mail made a similar remark.

The Tip was wrong about the Tommy Lasorda book. It is not an autobiography. Did you notice “Colin Gunderson” was not preceded by “with” on the cover? That means it’s a biography by Gunderson. It’s like Henry Bushkin’s bio of Johnny Carson.

    • The Real Royal Emperor

Now that may be juicy. We may learn O’Reilly tried to take the bullet.

      • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

You simply can’t resist taunting Mike, can you?

        • Obviously not.

          • Marty

            Trolls gotta troll.

        • The Real Royal Emperor

Not to worry. Mike is as strong as Bill, and Mike doesn’t whine.

          • Cecelia

So that’s what sets off your Marquis de Sade impulse.
