Somerby: Rachel Maddow should be consigned to cablenews Hell.
This link seems to be wrong or am I missing something?

    • Yes, it was very wrong. But I think it’s better now. Sorry about that.

I thought Bob Somerby made some valid points.

One of the few times I have been able to stay focused and actually follow along for one of his 1000-1500 word screeds. 😊

I wish he wrote more. It took me a while to distinguish between the various scholastic aptitude tests in his pieces on education and I still get bogged down in those pieces because I unfortunately don’t share his passion for such an important subject.

However, no matter what he writes, I’m always intrigued by his scholarship, logic, and general good guy-ness.

Isn’t she already in cable news hell? She the best “talent” they have and they are still a 3rd place channel which isn’t going to change……12th repeats of lockup on the weekend beat her show sometimes. Shes on a news network that even the twitter stooges have said they don’t turn to for braking news…….if that’s not a cable news hell….what would be really?

I try not to watch opinion shows on any of the networks….but I’ve seen her show……it sucks….I think she has a lot of talent but she to biased to try and do a show about news.

Anyone else amused by how biased these cable news campaign embeds often become when reporting from the campaign events for the candidate they are covering. At times they almost sound more like staffers than embeds — and this is only a slight exaggeration.

    To wit:
    CNN
MJ Lee — hired by CNN from Politico (Trump)
Sara Murray — hired by CNN from the WSJ (Trump)

    MSNBC
    Danny Freeman (Sanders)
    Ali Vitali (Trump)

Former LA Times political reporter Maeve Reston wrote an interesting long-form article way back in 2008 about her experiences during her seven months covering the McCain campaign,

She wrote about how over those months, “McCain had artfully created a sense of intimacy with the reporters who traveled with him. He barbecued for us at his Arizona cabin, and opened up about matters as personal as his faith and his son’s girlfriends.”

the way to a reporter’s heart is through their stomach … I guess

  • Today’s most popular links:
    5 admirable but unnecessary
    4 NBC’s Ayman Mohyeldin
    3 factually wrong
    2 prove his CIA service
And the most popular link in today’s links…
1 Somerby: Rachel Maddow should be consigned to cable news Hell.
