What I think is interesting about the whole debate on CNBC is that the execs knew it was an opportunity to have political viewers that don’t normally watch the channel tune in to see what they could do. This should have been an important moment for them, especially because of some rating wins recently for FBN. Not only was their debate awful, their pre and post debate coverage was bad, too. Now FBN has the ability to show how it is done better… and thus, could really pay off dividends. It is really telling about the state of CNBC as whole right now, I believe.

RNC cancels the Feb. NBC debate. Move on that

    • Grandpa D

As I read it, RNC still wants a debate on Feb 26th, but not with NBCU properties NBC News and Telemundo. Priebus said, “We still fully intend to have a debate on that day, and will ensure that National Review remains part of it.” With most of the candidates meeting on Sunday to formulate their input to the RNC, the whole thing seems up in the air.

If NBC was sleeping, this wakes it up.

It should wake every media group up.
But, we still have the Dems not being willing to have a debate on Fox. So, let’s not get too worked up.

  • WUSA reporter Andrea McCarren is going to be on MediaBuzz again this week. I feel like she’s angling to go national again. She had been with ABC News and now she’d be with Fox News.
