  • Hogue: Impartial CNN anchor’s expletive exemplifies ‘skin in the game’.
  • Thursday’s numbers, Friday’s too.   Ainsley makes book, book makes #1.
  • Somerby: Self-dealing huckster Rachel Maddow constantly sells the cars.
  • Tucker Carlson video: College professor argues Castro was
  • Kugle: The fake news of CNN.  Now More Than Ever airs Jan 1.  Mika spotted.
  • Ari Melber: I’ve paid my dues.  Ronan resurfaces.   Today’s Wemple O’Whine.
  • GATXER

Megyn’s been named the ADweek News Anchor of the year? The disgraced racist stooges little heads will explode over that for sure.

Good job for MK this year……hard year for her but she handled it well IMHO.

    • Cecelia

I’m getting a bit sick of her.

      • GATXER

She got a book to hawk………I feel the same way about Bill O sometimes.

        • gcblues

she hawked on her own show. i call BS.

          • GATXER

Can you name 1 host that hasn’t done that? I can’t.

BO does it HUGE time……..Hannity has done it…….Anderson cooper did it……….Chris Matthews does it. I can’t think of one TV host that wrote a book that didnt talk about it on their show……..But NOBODY gets close to BO….he does it every night with every book. I turn to Fox for the 8pm newsbreak and see it all the time.

          • gcblues

he does short snips on posts i see as i do no get the channel. he mentions in passing or promos like 40 secs. MK did like 7 mins.a distinction with a diff. perino guilty as well. if this is the new journalism then FNS needs to be paid royalties.

          • GATXER

Most of their books I believe have been published by a news corp company…..at least some.

            MK 7 min…..Anderson Cooper 1 hour special.

            http://cnnpressroom.blogs.cnn.com/2016/04/28/hbo-documentary-nothing-left-unsaid-gloria-vanderbilt-anderson-cooper-broadcasts-on-cnn/

          • HarperCollins.

          • GATXER

Thats is still news corp right? I lose track.

          • Yes.

          • GATXER

BO had his co-author on for the killing books and last week had James patterson on for the book they wrote that just came out.

          • gcblues

all true. the only good show in prime is special report as far as i can tell. the rest realty tv posing as news

          • homemaker

See, I never thought of anything after Special Report as news. More analysis, sharing the host’s viewpoint. Entertainment.

          • gcblues

i agree. might as well have Oprah and Dr. Phil on. they have great reporters doing segments on reality tv shows. i don’t get BOR, Watters, and Miller being on then i am supposed to consider a guest like Rosen and BOR telling him he knows better Rosen. it is getting weird. the worst part is we seem to be missing a lot of things that are happening in the world and are not on the air.

          • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

Hey! Lay off of Dana. She reminds me of Tinkerbell.

          • gcblues

jasper? really? a little Kardasian if you ask me.

          • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

She just likes her dog, and wants to share him with the world. Nothing wrong with that. She is nothing like those damn Kardashians.

          • Larry Kelly

He’s acting like he needs an attention fix.

          • gcblues

Chris matthews is a fraud, everyone knows it, his JFK book was a fairy tale. hard to call him a journo or MSNBC a net.

          • You get one of his books free when you sign up for, or renew, billoreilly.com premium membership. All the money from the website goes to charity. Now, the mail.

          • Larry Kelly

Pretty small thing to complain about.

      • homemaker

        I concur.

        • GATXER

Just curious…….do you watch her show?……..I wonder if it doesn’t bother me………as much because regularly I dont watch……… I dont see her very much…….during my CNN week she was on 2 times in one night……that was a bit much.

          • Larry Kelly

I never watch, so the snippets I see are all I have to go on. That’s really not enough. Now for Hannity, that’s plenty. I’m pretty firm, however, in my conclusion that Megyn has a lot of courage.

          • gcblues

all i watch is clips, hannity is repulsive politically, nice personally, MK has become a plastic barbie figurine.

          • Cecelia

            She does.

          • gcblues

no more courage than a guy/gal opening a car repair place or pizza store on a wing, prayer and last dime.

          • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

They don’t get publically hammered day in and day out by a politician and his followers. She stood up to the abuse. You have to give her that.

          • gcblues

i do give her that. first time business owners have a govt/seller/buyer/employee/service front to deal with that is simply awesome in it’s scope. just think of what openning a simple muffler shop would entail. i think those are American heros, the guy that gave me my first serious shot was responsible for the lives of hundreds of employees, read families, mortgages, kids. he never went to college started peddling used cars. sorry i think that is pretty darn awesome. hammered. come on man. public really? who do you think business does business with other than the public? you git to my itch spot has i see household survey and labor salary report in converging lines when the household survey should be soaring. people don’t need a stinking job to work. we could use a few self employed heros about now. can’t outsource that work. 100% in your hands.

          • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

You want to talk heroes? Besides those in the military fighting and dying for their country, and the cops willing to take a bullet to save others, think about the firefighters. It takes a special kind of courage to run into a fire to save a stranger. That is courage. Those are heroes. Not somebody opening a used car lot, or a muffler shop or an adult book store.

          • I watch occasionally, mostly through segment videos online.

          • homemaker

Well, my husband has to watch her every night. I’m usually in the room on my laptop not 100% paying attention but really get the gist of her and the stories she’s focusing on. Just last night she a bit on about her early years in Chicago and even my husband said “she’s getting kind of full of herself, isn’t she.” I concurred. Since the Roger Ailes thing I have been less than enthused about her. Just my opinion. Anyone lose can love her/hate her as much as they want.

          • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

I think that she shouldn’t told the Ailes story. It was a clumsy pass that didn’t affect her career.

          • GATXER

I normally dont watch the “opinion” shows on any network……..however this year Ive been doing so somewhat. Of the big 3 Fox ones I like hers the best……of course since I personally can’t stand Hannity it isn’t much of a race. I’m far from a expert but she has the best guests…..which is the only reason Id watch to being with.

      • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

When it gets to me, I turn off the sound and gaze into those eyes. I’ve got this thing about pretty white women.

  • GATXER

How come when your hometown makes the Facebook newsfeed……..it’s NEVER good news?

    Just once…..I mean come -on.

  • Larry Kelly

Glad to see the “exceedingly bright host” working to earn a “Cronkite Award” after getting his first from a Crackerjack box.

  • Larry Kelly

A PRIVATE video — titled “Is Barron Trump Autistic? #StopTheBullying” — was posted on YouTube in early November that speculates Donald Trump’s 10-year-old son is autistic. The video, which Rosie O’Donnell PUBLICLY tweeted out, has over three million views. Rosie was once known as “The Queen of Nice”.

    • Cecelia

I can’t wrap my head around this.

Maybe someone hacked her Twitter account or something.

    • She’s the Queen of Nice, but not if she hates your politics.

      • Cecelia

That frame of mind is not niceness, it’s self-interest.

        • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

More like sadism. She was the one doing the bullying. A grown woman bullying a child, for God’s sake.

    • homemaker

Golly, was just in NYC for Thsnksgiving. Did dinner with my daughter’s boyfriends parents (very liberal) and if by golly this very subject came up. I said, as respectfully as I could, Rosie and her ilk were FOS and to leave the kid alone. Had to say it 3 times before they changed the subject. Next day, I asked my daughter if there was any blowback regarding my comments from her boyfriend and she said, “he agrees with you”. Whew!

  • Larry Kelly

Had to turn Shep off a moment ago. Sometimes he interrupts a guest to repeat something over that he’s already said if the guest hasn’t taken the bait to repeat it themself. Irritating. What’s the point of having a guest?

  • Bob Somerby is to Rachel Maddow as Erik Wemple is to Bill O’Reilly.

    • Cecelia

But Bob Somerby is taking a fellow liberal to task.

He has no skin in the game.

      • Oh, yeah. I keep forgetting.

  • Larry Kelly

Obama knows but one tune, “I think that part of it has to do with our inability, our failure, to reach those (white working class) voters effectively,” he said. “Part of it is Fox News in every bar and restaurant in big chunks of the country…”. If only the devil didn’t stop the Lord’s message from reaching the people. Trying to think of last time I watched FNC in a restaurant. Yeah, it was never.

    • Grandpa D

I’ve seen FNC on restaurant TV’s, muted with closed-captioning. The one I recall has multiple muted closed-caption TVs, each with a different channel. I usually don’t watch any. Too busy eating.

      • Larry Kelly

Come to think of it, I don’t go out to restaurants much.

    • homemaker

He has this weird obsession about Fox. Guess he was taught at an early activist age about being able to pull the wool over people’s eyes with the MSM being on your side. Now, his methodology to manipulate people has changed and he’s ticked off.

    • Cecelia

I have prayed and hoped for the best for Pres. Obama for years.

He turned out to be nothing more than a liberal activist, and he’ll be going back to that soon without the intrusions he so resents that pit Western interests against nations he believes we have wronged.

      Just go.

    • Cecelia

Pres. Obama : “The challenge is people are getting a hundred different visions of the world from a hundred different outlets or a thousand different outlets, and that is ramping up divisions. It’s making people exaggerate or say what’s most controversial or peddling in the most vicious of insults or lies, because that attracts eyeballs.”

      http://www.mediaite.com/online/obama-on-dems-inability-to-reach-voters-part-of-it-is-fox-news-in-every-bar-and-restaurant/

Evidently, the president thinks that a broad expanse of opinion and info isn’t a good thing.

Why? Because it’s all settled science, uniformity defeats divisiveness, and…btw…we’re too dumb to know the difference between real news and clickbait.

Oh, and fake news Fox is out there…sigh…

      • gcblues

        reductio:
        more info less opinion please.

      • Larry Kelly

Introspection has never been his strong suit. When you’re so good, who needs it.

  • Cecelia

Jakeho has finally written something that doesn’t make you want to hose him down with bleach.

  • carolr527

I can’t believe Geraldo was saying such nice things about Castro on Tucker’s show. Really disappointed in Geraldo.

    • gcblues

I encourage you to use google and learn all about the NYTs and their relations with Joe Stalin. Geraldo has bought into the dream no historical firing squad orgies can counter.

  • Larry Kelly

So the ISIS inspired Ohio State car-crusher, knife-slasher was “devotedly religious”. What was he worshipping that didn’t turn him away from such behavior? Why if your not a butcher should you be allowed to buy a butcher knife? We need some common sense knife-safety laws.

    • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

When icepicks are outlawed, only outlaws will have icepicks.

      • Larry Kelly

Tough California knife-safety laws allow only bladeless knives without handles.
