“Sanctimonious, avaricious and just plain wrong on the facts: That’s the Hillary Clinton America chose not to elect.

Excellent quote from Hillary Clinton’s ‘excuses tour’ hits a new low

Sen. Al Franken reversed course on Thursday, saying it would “be best” not to appear at a promotional event with his “friend” Kathy Griffin after the comedienne received an avalanche of criticism this week stemming from her decision to take a photo with the bloody, severed head of a replica President Trump.

Franken, D-Minn., was due to appear with Griffin on July 7 at a Beverly Hills event promoting his book “Giant of the Senate.”

“I believe what Kathy Griffin did was inappropriate and not something that should be anywhere in our national discourse. I consider her a friend and I’m glad she realized she crossed the line and apologized,” Franken told Politico.

“After hearing from many Minnesotans who were rightfully offended, I’ve come to the conclusion that it would be best for her not to participate in the event we had previously scheduled. I understand why Minnesotans were upset by this, and I take that very seriously.”

Franken book new title, “Wimps of the Senate”.

      • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

He’s more like a “Pissant of the Senate.”

    • Grandpa D

      Unbelievable. Al Franken making sense.

      • Larry Kelly

Politicians get that way when constituents hold a gun to their head.

  • Minnesota Nice

Kathy Griffin just had a press conference, she is now playing the victim card to the bully president and his family.

    • Larry Kelly

      sympathy for the beheader

    • Grandpa D

She was contacted by a lawyer.

      • The despicable Lisa Bloom to be precise.

        • Minnesota Nice

The despicable Lisa Bloom, daughter of the despicable Gloria Allred to be even more precise.

        • Cecelia

It’s so sexist to treat her like anyone else.

    • Cecelia

Didn’t Hillary just blame everyone but Peewee Herman for her loss?

    • Lurker

LOL Who is going to feel sorry for Kathy Griffin being bullied after showing the President’s severed head ISIS style?

      • Cecelia

        Zurawik, probably.

        • Lurker

          Kathy Griffin is TONE DEAF

      • Minnesota Nice

MSNBC, CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, NYT, etc. I suspect it was a rhetorical question.

The press conference was a disaster and her attorney got angry and was the only one laughing at Griffins pathetic jokes. They say she is sorry, but yet they want to say it’s freedom of speech, attack on a women, blah, blah, blah. It’s sounds very familiar to Hillary’s tactics, blame everyone but themselves.

Men tend to get animated around fetchingly dressed women.

In fact that’s how women know they’ve crossed a point in their lives.

Men no longer act like complete idiots around them.

      • Mitch Alan

Ivanka and Melania Trump both know how to dress in an appropriate manner. She looks ridiculous, like someone you would meet in a Vegas cocktail bar, mooching for drinks.

        • Cecelia

Several of her outfits have struck me that way in the past too.

I think there truly is a method to her madness when she does this. It’s arguable if she should use such wiles, but it’s definitely done with an eye for getting an advantage.

          • homemaker

I’m old fashioned enough that I find her dressing like this for a serious interview with a world leader disgusting. If she were interviewing Charlie Sheen-no problem.

          • Cecelia

            It’s the opposite for me.

Interviewing a sleezy burnt-out actor while wearing a cocktail dress denotes a sort of kinsmanship in superficiality.

Interviewing a table full of Russian ogliarch villains who she wants to disarm seems calculated for professional advancement.

Whether she’s moving backwards or moving forwards in opportunism and thereby betraying her own stand on some particular social dynamics is well worth consideration.

          • Mitch Alan

I am sure Putin had a laugh at Megyn’s expense. You can’t dress like a twenty-year-old girl when you are a 46-year-old woman. That’s common sense.

          • Cecelia

She does a good job of pulling it off.

          • homemaker

Well, she does say she loves Oprah! So, does she want to be superficial? IMO that’s who Oprah is.

          • Cecelia

Wonder if she asked Putin about his childhood pets?

          • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

Cecelia has a point. Megyn is doing it to mess with the interviewee’s mind.

          • homemaker

She really has more than one person she is playing to. Putin AND her brand new audience. There will be plenty of people who have a preconceived idea of her just because she worked for Fox. The dress will make them think something (IMO not positive things) about who she is. One interview of Putin is not going to carry her forward for years as she tries to build her audience.

      • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

She doesn’t look like a hooker to me.

  • sky303

That’s sad that Jenna Lee is leaving, hope her the best …

    • Mitch Alan

She would probably do a very good job anchoring the CBS Evening News. Maybe she isn’t liberal enough?

      • sparty

I would think Heather Childers is first in line for the HN job.

        • homemaker

          Or Shannon Bream?

          • sparty

Shannon will stay with Hemmer at 9 a.m. If Heather moves to 11a.m., hopefully Jackie Ibanez will go to F&FF.

    • Lurker

Why would Jenna leave a cushy job at the #1 Cable News Channel unless you’re Megyn & have BIGGER ambitions & want to leave the FOX News Right Wing Label?

Did her contract not get renewed? We’ll know if she doesn’t show up at another job soon

      • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

She may simply be burnt out. It happens.

        • Larry Kelly

A fellow Boilermaker hired the same time as I quit his job after three years to head to St. Louis without any planed prospects. Told me, “God called me there”. My life so far has been God giving me comfort and not cryptic orders.

          • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

God once gave me written orders. He has excellent penmanship. Looked like the Palmer method.

    • Larry Kelly

She’s leaving home. Will get by with a little help from her friends. A day in the life.

FYI – hyperlink is bad (cut & paste full text works), also J$ linked to it above with the tag “An inconvenient typo” (last linked item). 😉

I wish I spoke that language.

Web page development is part of my job. 🙂

Best advice is copy entire link from web browser address bar and paste into chat box. If entire link copied isn’t underlined after you click “Post as Cecelia”, it likely isn’t a valid link.

Note I made underline with code WORDtobeUNDERLINED
basically to start and to end. Same goes with bold before
word(s) and end with and italtics before word(s) and end
          with

          Ignore spaces before and after

          Sorry getting geeky. 😉

I’m sorry but I stopped reading at the second sentence of your second paragraph.
