  • Thursday’s numbers: Sean Hannity-Tucker Carlson-Maddow 1-2-3.
  • Hannity poised to win 9pm showdown while CNN brings up the rear.

I am absolutely convinced that the far Left won’t be happy until they start a race war.

    • Larry Kelly

As long as they can keep it out of their neighborhoods.

  • Cecelia

The Rothstein piece is worth reading.

I have and continue to feel sorry for Megyn for sharing an industry with such dark-triad childish bastards.

I’d feel sorrier still if she hadn’t acted a bit like them.

    • Minnesota Nice

Agree. However I am not a fan of curse words, especially the F one. I like Rothstein and understand that’s her repartee, but I feel it slightly diminishes the overall product.

      • Cecelia

I tend to agree. Evidently, some of that was quotes…

        • Minnesota Nice

I did notice that, I probably would have put the quoted ones as “F$%&.” being a slight prude myself. Full disclosure, if I hammered my thumb in my workshop, I likely would yell out an expletive. I may or may not have done that in the past 😉 My latest hobby is building birdhouses!

          • Cecelia

So you might say something untweetable?

          • Minnesota Nice

Or a comment that would get flagged for review by J$. That happened to me once and I forget the word I used or if I quoted someone. I am positive it wasn’t F and I have not problem saying B00B. 😉

          • Cecelia

Hey, God endowed all with unalienable rights and some with boobs.

      • Presbyter

Had the same reaction. More vulgarization of our public discourse.
This whole MK thing has me torn between my better self as a human being wanting to have sympathy for her and my detached self watching the undoing of someone falling from the heights into a pit of her own making.
At least no matter how it turns out, she’s got lots of $.

      • Larry Kelly

Hey, you can go to the number one horror film of all time, “IT”, now playing at your local cinemaplex, and watch little kid actors swear like longshoremen.

        • Minnesota Nice

Funny, I’ll never forget my Mom taking me to see Kenny Rogers in the movie Six Pack back in 1982. She was appalled at the kids swearing and that it was only rated PG. She was also upset that her fav Kenny would be in such a film. My how times have changed.

    • Lurker

Megyn made her own bed, now let her lie in it

You don’t go from a Conservative Network to a Liberal Network & expect her fans to follow or Liberals to embrace you

Megyn is too smart not to know this!

      • Cecelia

Wouldn’t you think a national fight with Trump and essentially pushing Ailes off a cliff would count for something?

        • Lurker

being on FOX News TRUMP’s fighting with TRUMP & taking down Ailes to the unreasonable Liberal LEFT 😁🤣😄

I heard someone made a compilation of all the $h*t Megyn has said on FOX News, let me see if I can find it, it’s very hard to forgive Megyn just for that to the LEFT

        • Larry Kelly

What has she done for them lately? Appetite is insatiable.

          • Cecelia

            That is so true.

The not going political thing makes the left especially crazy.

What’s the use of NBC paying her all that money if she’s not going rouge on her past politics?

      • LenInFlux

        I agree.

Also mentioned in the article was how her new show is such a big departure from what she did on Fox which I think is another big part of why he show may not catch on as NBC had hoped. Her “being done” with politics and the back and forth exchange that came with it is avoiding the strengths she had as an anchor of a show on Fox. Like her or not, she used her lawyer background during interviews and was very good at it. Now she’s using her skills to cross-examine Jane Fonda about her plastic surgery. As the old saying goes, you have to go with what got you there.

        • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

She should’ve dissected Hanoi Jane for all of her anti-American mouthing off over the years.

    • Minnesota Nice

I suppose conspiracy theorists are saying the cameraman walked into a shot and said sh*t on purpose.

      • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

“Sh*t” is the modern equivalent of the old “oops.”

  • Cecelia

Why is it that NFL players suddenly have an unquestionable right to do a political protest in their workplace, without consequences?

Has the chattering class ever made this argument before?

    • Minnesota Nice

I’ve wondered the exact thing, they are at work. I’d never get away any protest in the workplace.

      • Cecelia

The worst thing about the news media’s handling of the story is how the Tucker vid shows utterly irresponsible people leveling charges of racism on the most flimsy of pretexts.

You can argue if Trump should have made the appeal to NFL owners, but saying that he shouldn’t have because it’s the players’ right to protest is flat wrong.

To liken an appeal to a boss over employee behavior as a call for a slave master to tighten the irons is the worst sort of opportunism and race-baiting.

This is true as well, for the moronic foregone conclusion that Trump wouldn’t have gotten involved or have referred to white protesters as SOBs.

There’s nothing in Trump’s past to indicate that he is not an equal opportunity insult-meister…

To predicate a charge of racism on this crap is beyond contemptible.

      • Cecelia

Someone on twitter, compared the NFL players’ taking a knee to the Google employee who was fired for writing a counter to a memo. A counter that argued against current diversity hiring policy based upon his experiences at the company, and that tentatively suggested an alternative.

His bosses certainly had the rightf to fire him, but his action can’t accurately be described as a political protest .

        • Minnesota Nice

Here’s what the game operations manual says regarding the national anthem, according to an NFL spokesperson:

The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.

During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.

Owners may be in a pickle for not enforcing this rule. Curious to see if any player files a lawsuit or complaint with union for past discipline charges or non allowance to honor cops, 9/11, etc. on helmet or with patches on uniform.

          • Cecelia

There’s an excellent case to made about the wisdom of Trump’s action as to it being worthy of the office, or it being a cynical political ploy to divert attention from legislative failures.

As always, that’s not enough for the left. They must out-Trump Trump at every turn.

            They always have.

      • homemaker

I got fired from the local Chamber of Commerce for supporting the school superintendent that the union teachers disliked. I made a public statement and the next day at work was told too many community members knew I worked at the Chamber & thought it was inappropriate. Had to empty my desk in 5 minutes and be out the door.

        • Sorry to hear that. Maybe the ACLU would be interested in your case.

    • Larry Kelly

I’m sure if in the middle of his next movie, Jon Voight were to pause, kneel, and quietly burn a picture of Nancy Pelosi, they’d understand.

I noticed CNN web brag doesn’t include Drudge Report. In August, Drudge had 147.5 million unique visitors compared to CNN’s 119 million. CNN will say it’s not a news site, but web analytics traffic sites consider them one along with others CNN left off their list.

Bottom line CNN is number one for sites or organizations they choose to compare themselves against.

    • Cecelia

      Nevermind…

      • Minnesota Nice

Agree, but I suspect this is meant as a reply to Mr. Nixon. 😉

        • Cecelia

          Fixed it…

          • Minnesota Nice

Ah, actually a good response to mine as well.

  • carolr527

I just read that Erin Gloria Ryan, of The Daily Beast, will be joining SE Cupp and Andy Levy as an occasional contributor to SE Cupp Unfiltered. I don’t think I ever heard of her.

    • Somer of her work:

Perez Hilton—And All Men—Should Shut Up About Abortion
Ivanka Is Just Donald Trump in a Shift Dress
Please Stop Falling For Right-Wing ‘Free Speech’ Weeks
Fox News Is Like Porn for Aggrieved Men

Sort of gives you a hint of where she’s coming from.

      • carolr527

Interesting but not surprising considering this is CNN/HLN. And John Daly, on Bernard Goldberg’s site, wrote a glowing review of Unfiltered in which he claimed that SE had mostly right-wing panels. Not on the episodes I watched!

        • Presbyter

It’s like when any European political party isn’t totally socialist and pangendered and total immigration it’s described as “far right”.

      • Nixon – niihpikiiookani

Wonderful. Cross that place off of my list.

      • Larry Kelly

Not that I was thinking of watching anyway.

    • CDG24

Pretty sure she has been the most frequent guest on the show so far.

I first heard of her on Sherrod Small’s podcast “Race Wars”. For someone who wrote at Jezebel, I found her to be surprisingly reasonable. Maybe she just tones down her opinions when she is around people who might challenge her.

I think she has done a pretty good job as a panelist on Unfiltered. She fits in well. Isn’t too strident. Doesn’t seem to take herself too seriously. She might be the best liberal guest they have. At least of ones who weren’t ever on Red Eye.

Don’t quite understand the hire though. Why would HLN hire someone not very well known to be a contributor just so they could occasionally appear on their lowest rated show? Maybe they just thought she deserved to be paid since she is on so much.
They are putting money towards something/someone that is not going to do much to help the show get viewers.

Maybe she was hired to let the show claim to be more balanced or maybe they are having such a hard time finding good liberal guests that they are just going to put her on even more.
Also possible that she will start occasionally sitting on the panel in place of Andy (who still would be working as a producer on days he wouldn’t appear) and this would let them have her as the token liberal and they can book three conservative/libertarian guests while still giving the show some balance.

If she starts appearing at least twice a week and Andy is still on everyday, that means the show will be down to two panel guests on half of their shows. Having only two guests on a panel show didn’t work very well for Red Eye.

      • carolr527

I don’t think they have a problem finding liberal guests. I think they have a problem finding good conservative guests. Of course SE is a conservative (sometimes) and Andy is a liberal libertarian. If you look at their guest list so far on IMDb you will see that most of their panelists have been liberal, with a smattering of libertarians, and very few conservatives.

        • CDG24

Looking back through the show’s twitter account, I see more episodes where right leaning guests outnumber liberal guests than vice-versa.
[Many of the guests I would consider to be right leaning would be more moderates and libertarians.]

Just this week, I would say right-of-center guests outnumbered left-of-center guests two to one.
Although last week does look like it had more liberal guests.

Erin Gloria Ryan appearing so frequently influences my opinion that they are having a hard time finding liberal guests. It looks like there has been 23 episodes and she has been on seven or eight times.
