It takes nerve for the Outfoxed gals to accuse someone else of character assassination, as they merrily spread more slanders and lies. With J$P Audio & Video!

There is a recipe that so precisely predicts the results of a particular mix that its veracity almost achieves metaphysical certitude. Take nancy of the newshounds (another fine product of the Outfoxed syndicate), add Fox News Live (preferably with David Asman), mix well, and publish. The result is almost invariably some witch's brew of dishonesty, doctored quotes, and lies.

Nancy has had little to say about yesterday's FNL, but in just a few paragraphs she hits all the bases:

David Asman interviewed [Christopher] Hitchens...Asman sneered about UK investigators calling the London bombing a "criminal act" vs a "terror attack"...

Result: a phony quote that rewrite Asman's words, and an outright lie about Asman's "sneer" (one of nancy's favorite slanders, perhaps because she's under the misimpression that nobody will catch her in this lie).

Asman tried to recover, saying "well is it a war."

ASMAN: But the point is, is what happened in London a growing part of something that we have to approach as a war--
HITCHENS: Yes.
ASMAN: --rather than as a criminal act, which some folks say we spent too much time doing in the past?
HITCHENS: No, it most certainly is. What's happening is the following: there is a civil war...

Result: Yet another doctored quote; Asman said no such thing.

But the nefarious newsmutt is not finished with her calumnies, as she invents something to complain about in Asman's space shuttle coverage:

David Asman continued his efforts to foster anti-Americanism in every other country on the face of the planet. This time it was citizens of Japan & Australia who could be offended by his idiotic comment....Asman noted that the crew also includes an Australian & a Japanese & asked: "How did THEY get in?" -- with his tone of voice clearly implying that they weren't fully qualified.

Despite the lack of evidence, documentation, or anything other than the notoriously unreliable word of one of the most flagrantly deceitful of all the newspooches, it was still enough to convince the credulous:

He reminds me of Steve Carroll's character from "Anchorman" who has the jolly newscaster personality, but is, in actuality, mentally retarded.

Republican Pravda Fox should be trying to unite the world a la 9/12 instead of the bashing of every country that doesn't mollycoddle Bush 43

[fox] is trying everything to get the entire world to hate us.

It's time for a reality check. Hear the hateful slur with your own ears.

Result: it speaks for itself.

Nancy has the chutzpah to accuse Christopher Hitchens of "character assassination". But Hitchens doesn't slander people's reputations by telling lies. That's nancy's job.
