Facts...They Can Be So Inconvenient

The Newshounds are baying at the moon once again, claiming "phony statistics". Too bad they don't know how to use Google.

Desperately scraping the bottom of their complaint barrel, those wacky gals at newshounds have decided to go after Fox's "phony statistics". Why how absurd, they whine, for Linda Vester to comment that 96% of Americans celebrate Christmas. "Phony...Where did they get that?...Fox is way off." To buttress this insightful media criticism, they go on to quote polls about what, celebrating Christmas? No, polls about religious identifications. Because, you know, you have to be a certain religion to celebrate Christmas, even though it is a national holiday. (Hey, I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried!)

It took all of 45 seconds using Google to get the facts: an Opinion Dynamics survey found that...well...96% of Americans celebrate Christmas. Oops. What's more, the poll, with its lengthy results, charts, and full data, can be found right on the Fox website--you know, the channel that the newshounds are supposed to know inside and out.

Maybe we should give the hounds a break; they announced this morning that many of them are taking a few days off. They must have the second team in.
