Standard Standard

The Outfoxed gals stand on their principles, which are nothing if not flexible. With J$P Video!

There are few who are quite so adaptable as the Fox haters. What is outrageous one moment can be ignored the next, as long as it serves their venomous agenda. Who better to illustrate their ever-shifting standards than the newshounds (another fine product of the Outfoxed syndicate)? The newspups' doyen of deception, Donna, takes off against that rabid far-right propagandist, Bill Hemmer:
Hemmer said that there was a new plan put out today from the Democrats, in fact he mentioned it a few times. But did we get to hear what this plan entailed? No, it's Fox so we got a one sided opinion about the Republicans [sic] side. Hemmer went to Senator John Kyl (R-Arizona)...nor did he go to any Democrats to explain what their position was. Very unfair and unbalanced - the Fox On Line way.

The newspoodles are often up in arms when only one party to a controversy is interviewed. Often, but not always. We will tell you what Donna doesn't want you to know. Who appeared on Fox to discuss the Democrat security plan before Sen Kyl did?

Both were interviewed without any Republicans "to explain what their position was". In each case viewers "got a one-sided opinion": the Democrat side. Did Donna, or any of the mongrels, object to the "unfair and unbalanced" presentation? Here's a hint: NO! In fact, in order to preserve their spin about Kyl, the bowsers spiked any mention of these interviews from their tendentious website. So FNC has a string of Democrats on to discuss their plan, and the curs wait until the first Republican is interviewed on the subject, then shriek that it's "unfair and unbalanced". That's our deceptive Donna.

Meanwhile, Judy uses the election season to demonstrate another bit of hound hypocrisy:
Fox News Gives Republican Free Ad
..."Dayside" co-hosts Mike Jerrick and Juliet Huddy featured Rep. Jeb Hensarling, R-Texas, for a long segment on border patrol with no offsetting Democrat present.... The segment -- more than four minutes long -- should qualify as an in-kind contribution to Hensarling's re-election campaign.

How odd. How inexplicable. The newsmutts said nothing whatsoever about this:

That happens to be Senator Menendez, currently in a re-election campaign, being interviewed by Fox "with no offsetting" Republican present. Why didn't Judy complain that this interview--"more than four minutes long"--"should qualify as an in-kind contribution" to his re-election campaign? It's those malleable standards again. Just by coincidence, the Menendez interview, just like those with Roehmer and Reed, got no mention at all from the schnauzers.

But it's back to Donna for our big finish. She's still obsessing about the Democratic security plan, and she's determined to expose Fox bias even if she has to make it up:
Shortly after the half hour Molly Henneberg mentioned the Democratic plan but not before she mentioned the Republican plan.

How outrageous is that? Giving both plans equal time. That just drives the Fox haters bananas!
She never called the Democratic plan by it's [sic] name -- The Neocon plan, because Republicans run away from this word like it's the plague.

The truth: Henneberg didn't name the Democratic security plan because her report wasn't about the Democratic security plan. It was a look at the legislative agendas of the two parties for the remainder of the 2006 Congressional term [QuickTime video]:

OverHere
I see they finally got rid of the "Buy Us New Computers" link in favor of the monthly "memberships."

Johnny, you said it best back a few weeks ago... they should just write all their articles for the week on Monday because they don't watch and just make everything up to fit their agenda. Good grief!
