Truth or Consequences

The Outfoxed gals lead the Fox haters pack once again. But who told The Lie of the Week? With J$P Video!

Time again for our pickings from the Fox haters' grapevine, where the grapes are always sour and where you will find, nibbling at the roots, the newshounds (another fine product of the Outfoxed mob). Now if you are dishonest and deceive your readers, you really must pay the consequences. And Melanie the mastiff has the same disregard for truth as the rest of the pack, as she makes a preposterous claim:
Ever since the November election, Fox's "business news" propagandists have crusaded against rescinding George Bush's tax cuts for the rich. They, like many pundits, speak from the perspective of the hugely wealthy ruling class, which is trying to protect its own interests by convincing the masses that if the cuts are rescinded, the economy will collapse and the public will be left without the jobs the rich so benevolently provide.

The truth? Here are just a few examples that contradict Mel's slander:
  • Quentin Hardy: The Bush tax cuts have been great for the rich. They've proved that the trickle down theory doesn't work.
  • Ben Stein: In a period of high employment like we're having now, massive prosperity, an unlimited number of millionaires and a very large number of billionaires, we need to raise taxes on the very rich.
  • Elizabeth MacDonald: The middle class in bearing an increasing share of the tax burden in this country: up to 19.5% since 2001 from 18.7%. I think the government really needs to get off the back of the middle class taxpayer.

Our mendacious mongrel goes on to cite as evidence one statement from one person on one program of this past weekend's business block, and declares it to be "Fox's message". But Mel is playing the old "invisible man" game again. Why do you suppose she said nothing about any of these comments from the business block? [QuickTime video]:

Melanie didn't tell the truth. Her consequences: no Alpo for the rest of the day. Meanwhile, another anti-Fox terrier seeks to smear Steve Doocy, who was talking about the scorpion on the plane:
FOX Wants Us To Watch Out For Terrorists With Scorpions
...A great human interest story filled with cringe factor but Doocy took it to the logical next step in FOX World suggesting that the scorpion attacks could be terrorist related.

There's just one problem with this hound article: it's false! The truth [QuickTime video]:

You'll note that what Doocy said (that there is no evidence of any terrorism) is precisely 180 degrees opposite to what Debbie claims he said. Deb didn't tell the truth, and so another newsmutt must pay the consequences. But now it's back to Cavuto and business again, and, yes, mendacious Melanie. She barked loudly about Your World w/Cavuto:
Fox Lies Again -- Says Bush's "Surge" Caused the Dow to Rise Today
On Fox's propaganda-based "business news," Your World w/Neil Cavuto, you would have seen Cavuto open the show by highlighting the rise and saying, "Wall Street thinks this [the surge] is going to work."

Fox lies again? Wrong...it's Melanie lies again! The truth [QuickTime video]:

You will note that "Fox" never said what the hound HeadLie claims--in fact, "Fox" was quite specific that it was the falling price of oil that caused the markets to move. And then there's that marvelous quote that Cavuto used to "open the show". You just watched the opening of the show. Did you hear that quote or anything remotely resembling it? Where did it come from? The answer is the usual one: the newspoodles made it up!

Consequences? We've already taken away Mel's Alpo ration for the day. And we are merciful masters to the mongrels. So the ultimate consequence will be the one that is most richly deserved. Congratulations, Melanie, you told The Lie of the Week.
