When is a question not a question? When is a quotation not a quotation? Yes, the Outfoxed gals are at it again. With J$P Audio!

In her latest "report" on the evils of Fox News Live, nancy of the newshounds (another fine product from the Outfoxed mob) pretends that FNC is trying to "ignore" the Italian hostage incident. We say "pretends", because this particular item in fact filled about one-third of the news coverage during the time period she specified. Of course, nancy uses deceptive tricks (like listing teasers for all the other stories, but not listing teasers for the hostage incident story). But hey, why confuse people with facts? Especially when nancy can confuse people with falsehoods:

[David] Asman interviewed Sami Khiyami (Syria's Ambassador to the UK) by phone.

We're not sure why nancy thought it clever to say this was a phone interview. But unlike the tail-waggers, our tivo doesn't lie:

Asman opened not with a question, but a statement -- Bush is "making it crystal clear he doesn't think what Syria is doing is enough."

Here is a double fabrication. Not only did Asman in fact open with a question, it was nothing at all like the counterfeit quote supplied by nancy.

ASMAN: Joining us now from London, to discuss his country's intentions in Lebanon, Sami Khiyami, he is Syria's ambassador to the United Kingdom, and we welcome him here. Ambassador, you heard the President speaking, saying not only all military but all Syrian intelligence officers have to leave Lebanon; will you?

Apparently our favorite newspoodle thought she got away with it, because just a few sentences later, she pulls the same trick:

Asman persisted -- again, not with a question but a statement -- saying "you have a minority in Syria controlling the majority."

KHIYAMI: We want these states to be stable, secure, look for a true democracy, and have a reference to imitate.
ASMAN: Even if you have a minority as you do in Syria, the Allawi sect, controlling a majority Suni population?

Just to prove beyond any doubt that she is operating in bad faith, nancy has one final deception up her sleeve. To preserve the illusion that Fox News is a relentless stream of GOP propaganda, it is often necessary to rely on the invisible man technique--just pretend like the interviews never happened. In this case, it is Asman's interview with two Democrats--Peter Marijanian and Don Riegle. (And no Republican...Paging Oliver Willis!):



It was easy to make these men disappear; nancy just cut off her report moments before the segment began, skipping the last 15 minutes of the program. Oh, and to keep it clean, don't mention any of the teasers for that segment either. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Nancy has still has not issued an apology or a retraction for shamelessly rearranging sentences by Asman and Brigitte Quinn, lying to the American public about what they said. She again shows herself to be a shill for her own partisan agenda and not a purveyor of truthful reporting. When will nancy resign?
