Drudge to NBC News: 'You phony frauds!'

J$P Extra! Matt Drudge expounds on CNBC, CNN, FNC, and more.

Some piquant observations on the media from Matt Drudge's Sunday night radio show...

CNBC could run moldy old National Geographic videos of fornicating lions and they'd get a better rating than John McEnroe's 0.0. Bring back the "Money Honey" and let her read the Asian shares.

It was fascinating to see all the marquee names from CNN at the Time Warner Center, and everybody was punch drunk! Do they do this every night? No reporting, no investigating, just getting their refills at the bar.

The networks are not covering the first night of the convention. NBC is running Fear Factor, which is a summary of the feelings of NBC executives if Bush should win. Wall-to-wall Olympics, but we join the Republican convention in progress. How does Jeff Zucker justify running the ping-pong competition, but not showing the opening night of the convention? I think the time has come for these folks to pass the mantle. When Brokaw finally steps down, and they've figured out the cure for the super-glue that has kept him stuck in that chair for all these years, I think it's time for new management. Reruns of Fear Factor? They should put Jeff Zucker in a pit of fire ants. I'd volunteer to host that show. Proud as a peacock. America's News Leader. You phony frauds. You're a shell of what you used to be. You're nothing any more.

I think it all comes down to the debates. When the networks stop covering Fear Factor, and Last Comic Standing, and Everybody Loves Raymond, when they finally focus, and every satellite dish is zooming in on Jim Lehrer's yellow teeth, then we'll know where things stand.

I guess we're all going to watch C-SPAN, because Fox can't cover the convention gavel to gavel because they didn't do that with the Democrats. Because somebody will be sitting there with a stopwatch waiting to accuse Fox of bias. On Monday there'll be a new DVD out about it.
