'Another reason to vote for Kerry/Edwards: no riots'

J$P Extra! Matt Drudge speaks out on campaign violence, Lawrence and Rosie O'Donnell, Elizabeth Edwards, and more.

From The Drudge Report radio edition, October 24 2004:

I have maintained for weeks that I am worried utmost about violence in this election. We are seeing peoples’ windows being smashed, campaign headquarters being egged and robbed, voters being shouted down as they go to vote. I have dozens and dozens of photos of smashed windows of cars at rallies. I find it hard to believe anyone could care enough about Kerry to commit violence. It must be all anti-Bush.

This evening on C-SPAN they aired John Edwards and his lovely wife (who’s also a lawyer--they don’t point that out, she’s just kind of this love muffin) in Harrisburg, PA. As C-SPAN does, they follow the candidate and the candidate’s wife after they give the speech. A supporter came up to Elizabeth Edwards and said “Kerry’s going to take PA” and Liz Edwards said “I know that”. And then this supporter says, “I’m just worried there’s going to be riots afterwards”. Liz Edwards says, “Not if we win”. I guess she knows. Meaning, she’s aware that Democrats are the ones doing the rioting? That is quite a statement coming from one of the principals in this vote. I guess they’re not sharing their talking points with Al Gore who says “Stop these angry acts”. Another reason to vote for Kerry/Edwards: no riots. What do you think, can we get them to issue a clarification by the crack of dawn? Who are these people who want to lead us? Are we going back to this thuggery? And she’s the lovey-dovey cabbage patch wife, and this junk’s drooling out of her mouth, like some of that Big Mac sauce. They will call off the rioters if they win. We’re getting to know these candidates; give them a little string and they’re going to hang themselves. Go get a real job, Miss Edwards.

On Scarborough, MSNBC, Lawrence O’Donnell was shouting down John O’Neill like no one has ever been shouted down before. I think my favorite is when O’Donnell goes “you creepy liar”. The screaming of the punditry class, and the screaming is coming from the left. Suppressed rage, it’s all coming out. The left media is cracking. And they say, Drudge, why are you concerned about violence? What do you think bubbles under the surface here?

I don’t know what those Brits are thinking. The UK Guardian ran an editorial that basically called for the murder of our President. Do they say that about their own leaders? Of course they apologized after they were Drudged. And Jimmy Carter is out there in London saying get Bush out of there fast, the world’s coming to an end. Sorry Jimmy, the gas prices still are not as high as they were when you were in if you count inflation, which there was tons when you were President. Carter will not rest until the misery index is back. And Teresa’s out there telling the Caribbeans this is the worst economy we’ve ever had. Well we don’t want to mention Jimmy Carter. What a happy, up group.

But Teresa has not been vetted. We do not know what we’re getting. A few pictures of her with beers, oh yes, an eccentric from Africa. But if Howard Fineman says she’s a political disaster, well what does he know? And Imus said that Teresa may be a little too nuts to be in the White House, between his oxygen sniffs.

Zogby is now saying Bush leading 50-43 in his last day of polling. The closest election in our lifetime? Who are these people? They are all Miss Cleos. Rosie O’Donnell: a few dozen people showed up to see her. That’s all they’re good for now. Only 38 people showed up to hear Rosie rant and rave about don’t believe in that Fox News--just keep telling yourself Kerry in a landslide. Well it would help to have more than a few dozen people come to a nightclub that holds 1700 people. Wasn’t it interesting to hear her say that under Bush we’re making less money? Speaking for herself. You gave up the talk show, dear, of course the bottom line is going to change. And you put all that money into that Boy George play. Then she turned the rest of her speech into a diatribe against Star Jones. How embarrassing. Another moveon.org disaster. If I was Soros I’d ask for my money back.

Cher played to a few hundred; the Miami Herald said thousands expected. She was whacked out of her mind: “Well, the Superior Court nominations Bush is going to put in there...” She didn’t even know it was the Supreme Court. She’s been on that farewell tour just a little bit too long. Gypsies, tramps, and thieves.
