Omaraso used a common conversational tag -- "my friend" -- to which Vester responded with an extremely rude "First of all, you're not my friend."

Well, that's a nasty as it gets, but then Vester compounds the insult by telling Omarosa -- a woman with a BA, Masters and PhD in media -- that she "knows nothing" about television.

Now, this could very well be the truth, but what kind of host talks this way to guest?

I have never in my entire life seen anyone look more idiotic, bullying, and completely ignorant than Linda Vester! This clip doesn't show the real meat of the argument, in which Linda Vester makes no logical sense whatsoever. I'm not an Omarosa fan, but if Vester thought she came off well, she must be even stupider than she demonstrates herself to be here.

Anyone who believes Vester took the high road is blind. I don't even like Omarosa and never even watched the show in question before. I found out about this on a random message board. But I thought it was kind of funny how Vester sounded like a child with the "yeah well, you still don't know what you're talking about" comment after Omarosa ran down her list of credentials.

What are we in grade school? "I know you are but what am I?" LOl

Vester is another example of how low television "news" hosts have sunk. Granted, she doesn't host a hard news show, but her lack of civility is symptomatic of the tone that Fox news has made popular.

It's sad that a guy like Donahue is out of work and Vester (and the rest of Fox news) is on television each day.

Ugh.

Johnny: Looks like your "friends" from the Foxhounds came over en mass with all their sound-alike "opinions."

If the Fox Hounds would bother to check her bio, they would find that Vester's academic credentials more than match Omarosa. Plus Linda Vester has 15 solid years in the TV business, valuable experience that Ms. Manigault-Stallworth simply does not have by being a game show contestant.

In their hatred of FNC, the Hounds are defending a woman who overtly lied on national TV, costing Kwame Jackson the coveted job of being the first Apprentice. Why she was even on Vester's show (and Geraldo the previous week) is a mystery; the woman lacks any credibility.

The Fox Hounds defending a liar? Now that makes plenty of sense!

Ira, what are Vester's credentials? I'm assuming that you know them, so if you'd pass them along, I'd appreciate it.

Regardless, the bigger issue is civility and treating a guest on your show with respect. It's part of being a good host, though respect doesn't draw as many viewers as insults and controversy.

Wait, I found them:

"Vester began her career at NBC in 1990 as a researcher and producer based in New York. A graduate of Boston University (magna cum laude) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, Vester also earned an honors diploma from the Sorbonne in France and was a Fulbright Scholar of Middle East affairs based in Egypt."

Not bad, but they aren't exactly a MA and a Ph.D.

I'm a bit perplexed about how you are offended by those who dislike Fox News, but then admit that they put a woman who didn't deserve to be on television on not one, but two different shows on their cable news network.

What a predicament! "Fox news doesn't suck!" and "Why was she on Fox News to begin with!" are sort of hard to rectify.

Vester is also fluent in four languages. And what's more, she didn't flagrantly lie on national tv like Oma did. Try clicking the link on Oma's name in the article for some examples of her perfidy.

By the way, I've replaced the video clip with a higher res version. I figured out a way to make the clip larger and cleaner without increasing the file size. The wonder of QuickTime!

soma13: I never said that Fox News Channel is perfect, certainly they make mistakes, including this Dayside segment with Omoarosa.

If the topic was alleged racism on The Apprentice, Vester should have also spoken with Erica Vetrini who tangled with Omarosa on the show. Or maybe Stacie J, a Harlem restaurant owner who IMO was needlessly fired on the second season for perhaps being a little eccentric.

And I still take issue with your premise that Omarosa's college degrees somehow trump Vester's 15 years in the business plus her academic credentials.

By the way, if what I read elsewhere is true, Oma lied about her "doctorate". Reportedly she's working on it, but doesn't actually have it.

The issue is a lack of professionalism on the part of vester. If her credentials and experience has led her to the point where she believes it is appropriate to treat an invited guest on her program poorly and disrespectfully, then I question both her credentials and experience.

It's not just on Fox News that this sort of disrespect occurs, either. It's cable news, in general. Fox is being singled out here because the episode occured on that cable channel, but it could just as easily have been MSNBC, CNN, CNBC, or anything else.

These are programs and channels that appeal to the lowest common denominator who look to these programs for entertainment and not information. All too happily, these channels and programs oblige. You'll never go broke appealing to the lowest common denominator.

I am having trouble getting the video to play. Either Quicktime is crappy today or my computer isn't handling it too well.

I have never commented anywhere before, but felt this was necessary. I watched the whole segment and Linda had just made her opening statement when Omarosa called her a lier. Every time Linda tried to get onto the topic, Omarosa arrogantly launched personal attacks and interupted Linda. As for Omarosa, she is not a journalist, does not speak the arabic languages and french fluently, did not cover the Gulf War from the "front lines, has probably never been in Bagdad and able to identify streets and buildings as Linda did in the coverage of this Iraq war as troops were on the march and bombs were falling. Linda spent several years as an NBC correspondent and was the first one to be able to get the pictures of the Rwandan slaughter back to the states for NBC. Linda is better educated, more experienced in the field, and on t.v. as an anchor than Omarosa, "the entertainer" ever will be. MSNBc stated 2 weeks ago that is could never compete against the " successful 1:00 Dayside show.In th

Look, I am no Omarosa apologist by any means, but I think Linda Vester was way out of line. On her website, she tries to smooth over the incident by claiming that she "fell into Omarosa's trap." That is a very lame excuse. It seems to me that Linda Vester initiated the whole thing. Everyone knows how Omarosa is, however, Linda Vester put herself on the same level by engaging in that disgraceful display. As a journalist, she really should be ashamed.

Chris, make sure your Quicktime plug-in is up to date. If it isn't, make sure you delete all the old QT stuff before you install the latest version.

I finally got it to work. It wouldn't call it a tangle so much as a verbal spat. I was under the impression initally that they were on the same stage together and it resulted in a catfight. Nonetheless, they both seemed to be taking it rather personally.

Just wait, Linda, Omarosa's fame-track will lead to her own talk show, most likely on WB or MSNBC (or whatever's left of it). Her "nastiness" will be billed as "up front and in-your-face," the recruited show audience will "love and enjoy her" style, she'll deal with current issues, from a "racial" reference point, of course, and then...she'll crash. Next!

After i watched this show, i definitely concluded that Omarosa is a low life individual. You can take her out of the ghetto but you cant take the ghetto out of her. She shouldnt be appearing in any television shows because she is sickening to watch. She ir rude, arrogant and not even smart.

Omarosa doesnt have a PHD yet during this fight and yet she's bragging about it. As of April 2008, i read somewhere that she's still pursuing it. However, i would bet you, the schools she went to get her education are not high standard. You'll find out..

Someone has to take on Omarosa because she is a very abusive person. I wish Vester had punched Omarosa in the face because she deserve it.
