Re: "MSNBC embraces its inner Obama": That piece hurt to read. John Kelly was brimming with arrogance. At the presentation he showed Felix Gillette was upfront in who their audience is. Now, if only certain commentators wouldn't pretend their journalists.

The Observer piece simply shows what Olbermann and the rest of NBC NEWS have been denying for a long time....they are an echo chamber for the left.

They can "rebrand" the left as much as they want....."responsible leaders," or "committed to change," or "younger and engaged," or "connected to the Internet," or "the ones who make a difference." The result still remains.

How does their "marketing," affect their information gathering? How does their targeted audience bias for financial or whatever motives affect their function as journalists?

The answers are easy and they are a problem for the entire NBC NEWS organization.

Their reporters are obviously influenced by what end product their bosses want.

Anytime Olbermann utters "FAUX NEWS" he is a hypocrite and the article proves it. Any real, ethical journalists at NBC NEWS should be prepared to address their obvious conflict of interest as they unapologetically pursue President Obama as a demographic.

NBC NEWS is NOT the place for objective coverage of politics.

Thanks for bringing that very important piece to my attention, J$.

Ellen, the chief Hen at the Hen House, has given us anothe rmisleaading headline. "Is Hannity inciting Civil War"?

Well, no. Anyone with 2 ounces of common sense knows there is a difference between Civil War and Revolution.

Another twisting of the facts by the very people who accuse Fox of twisting the facts.

She has posted another biased story from Media Matters about Fox's so called "doctoring" of videos. There isn't enough time or space to explain how utterly ignorant these people are. I just wonder how long they have been following journalism in this country.

The New York Times has a terrible recent history of "doctoring" and misleading. I know, I know, their site is only about Fox. Which accounts for their ignorance of what has taken place in journalism the past 20 or so years.

Give me a break!! Every news channel does it. Why just pick on fox news??
Why doesnt media matters pick on them!!! (thats right they love obama)I guess when the media did it to bush it was ok?? but not obama??

Can someone say: double standard?

For a "irrelvent channel that only goes to what 1-2% of the population, they love talking about it. (what does that makes msnbc and cnn then?)

Newshounds double standard:

fox does something: bad
rest of media (samething): ok, no problem

Sad

There are undoubtedly instances where one can find a misleading or erroneous edit in an FNC report on something. But this is hardly unique to Fox. You can find it on every news channel. That doesn't make it right, but it provides context. In a 24/7 environment, mistakes happen. It happens more often on the opinion shows, but most of the time on all the channels it's not some intent to deceive, it's just carelessness.

I recall some time ago dissecting a Keith Olbermann smear of Brit Hume, where he took a quote Hume made about one event, and applied it to a completely different event that happened weeks later! I must have missed the outrage (and definitely missed the nonexistent Olby correction).

Nathan Thurm was the nervous lawyer, usually sweating profusely, holding a cigarette with an ash about 2 inches long. Funny stuff back in the day.

After I made my earlier post, Beck came back form commercial telling that the Acorn guy tossed out a few slurs at Beck during the break, Beck threw him out of the studio, and the Acorn guy asked one of Beck's producers out on a date.

That is not exactly true Dave. Most of my comments were direct responses to anyone who addressed me. Other responses, which may have been off topic, were made in relation to what some posters were saying. If I was off topic, then so were they. I was merely responding.

"If I was off topic, then so were they. I was merely responding."

Black, that was exactly what happened to me. I made my first comment to Anisha (?) who brought up the story of the Danish Royal Couple appearing with The Star of David in the beginning of the Nazi Occupation. I made my identity and activities perfectly clear so that no one could think that I had tried to put something over.

I then, upon polite encouragement from Anisha, made my first comment re the vile and pernicious sexual insults directed our way. I stated that I would wait to see what happened before I continued.

Again, Anisha was cordially encouraging.

From that point on ALL I did was respond to what were pretty fast and furious comments/questions and challenges directed to me.

After more than a few pages spent that way I finally found citations to prove two comments I had made about what was done by their regulars and posted the citations Ellen deleted them and told me I was hijacking the thread.

Not surpringly that really ticked me off so, having copied the two remarks, I posted them here with a small commentary.

The next day there were several comments about my, not surprising to them at all, failure to back up my claims.

Naturally, I C&P from here to there with an explanation that they had been deleted before drawing a breath.

At that point, again in a New York second, my comments were purged and I was banned for being a troll trying to hijack the innocent J$ thread.

Pretty sad commentary on people who praise themselves as being intelligent, open minded seekers of knowledge and new ideas as opposed to we brain dead intolerant sheeple.

I completely agree with Cecelia that it is Ellen's site to run as she sees fit. If that means she polices it with abject intellectual dishonesty it is her choice to make.

However, I reserve my right to point out that she not only misses the mark but doesn't even make an half hearted effort to run an honest blog!

Dead on, Grammie.

I suspect Ellen feels that someone's money is not being spent on supporting that blog so that a Fox defender can come up and have a forum.

The unmoderated boards were a compromise to keep sidelines off the Mains, but Ellen is not about to see them harboring Dollar's people...

The mission of the "durable record" is what she's about, it doesn't matter an iota if you're treated fairly. That's why an odious but useful psycho case like AAP has been tolerated.

She's a woman with a mission and fine feelings are not a part of that, unless they're necessary to the mission.

That's why dissenters here are in far better shape with Johnny, than we are with the apparachek Ellen.

She purges anything from single comments to entire 2,000+ comment threads with abso lutely no record they ever existed much less any record of their content.

Then there is that nifty feature of the commenters themselves having unfettered access to edit and delete at will.

Me too. It's a "veeeeeery interestink" pattern. On the Old NHOTJ$ thread, someone blasted a comment at J$P which took Ellen to task for false and misleading statements regarding: We Report, You Decide" FOX News Gives Sen. Vitter A Pass On Reported Airport Meltdown-Reported by Ellen - March 12, 2009 -http://www.newshounds.us/2009/03/12/we_report_you_decide_fox_news_gives_sen_vitter_a_pass_on_reported_airport_meltdown.php

I had commented on the article in the Mains and eventually had a comment stiffled (without acknowledgment) and told, "Enough. This thread is not about you. You have had your say. Move on, please." Ellen | Homepage | 03.13.09 - 3:26 am, when I defended myself after personal attacks and a jt lie.
http://www.haloscan.com/comments/newshounds/16325/

Well, I took up the "good fight" on the NHOTJ$ thread and when I posted proof that Ellen's article was, at best, inaccurate and misleading by quoting her, word for word, I got zapped with:
vstol,
Just like J$, you twisted what I said. To repeat, for the last time: I said that HANNITY GAVE VITTER A PASS ON THE AIRPORT INCIDENT AND THE DC MADAM THING THAT NIGHT. I further noted that there had been no DISCUSSION (different from a brief report or even a news report) ON VITTER'S AIRPORT INCIDENT and then compared that to THE HEAVY DISCUSSION ABOUT CYNTHIA MCKINNEY'S BRIEF TO-DO.
I NEVER SAID THERE WAS NO REPORT ON FOX NEWS ABOUT VITTER'S AIRPORT INCIDENT NOR THE DC MADAM INCIDENT.
Yet somehow J$ got it all twisted and cited something I never said to claim that I lied. How typical.
You have proved that you are not here in good faith. Please leave now or I am going to ban you.
Posted by: Ellen on Sun 3.15 11:23pm

My reply, which vanished w/o comment:
OK Ellen. I do have one question.
What's the difference between being forced to leave or being banned?
Posted by: vstol on Sun 3.15 11:29pm

It's amazing how Ellen can lie, and then lie about her lie. Here is what you quoted her as saying:

I said that HANNITY GAVE VITTER A PASS

What she actually wrote:

FOX News Gives Sen. Vitter A Pass...

Again, she said to you:

I NEVER SAID THERE WAS NO REPORT ON FOX NEWS ABOUT VITTER'S AIRPORT INCIDENT NOR THE DC MADAM INCIDENT.

Now, quoting from her own article in her own words:

I've not seen any discussion of Vitter's misbehavior (at the airport or with the Madam) on any FOX News show, either.

Of course there were plenty of discussions about Vitter and the Madam, and here's where I nailed her on her lies:

http://tinyurl.com/pn9nuz

And now she's lying about her lies, claiming she never said what she clearly did say!

But you have to understand, lying about your own lies is part of the 'durable record' of the flea bags.
