Olbermann is claiming that O'Reilly is "mailing it in" because O'Reilly allegedly used an item from a website on his show?

My gawd, the arrogance of this pretend journalist is limitless.

If the folks at Countdown ever lose their internet access, the show would have to be canceled. Or they'd have Olbermann reading from the NY Times.

With funny noises and voices while reading Kristol or Brooks.

Because he's a serious news anchor during these serious times in our history.

Yep.

What a joke. Olbermann lifts his entire 'worst person' shtick, and usually his 'Bushed' bit, from blue blogs. Sometimes it's almost word for word!

This Jake Ho guy needs to lighten up. He's so nitpicky with FNC programming, especially over the weekday and weekend "F&F."
In the comments for Johnny's superabbreivated Olby Watch recap of last night's "Countdown," I elaborated further on what Brent Baker discusses at NewsBusters. But I came at it from a BOR fan perspective. I watched the P&P segment, I know what happened, and I can readily link to video and text archives via FOXNews.com. It should come as no surprise that Oralmann conveniently omitted several lines from the Brian Williams Pinhead nod, and lied about what was covered on "NBC Nightly News" in the process. Surprised? No, I am not.
I found out there would be a special "H&C" tonight at the end of last night's show. I had it on shortly before 1AM when I set my DVR to record "Red Eye."
Speaking of "Red Eye," every time Diana Falzone is on, I get frustrated. I don't like seeing a beautiful woman my age that I will never have, especially if she's pure titillation. I mean, she's the co-host of a Sirius radio show on the Maxim Radio channel!
Sorry. Again, I speak as a lonely, depressed, cynical (from years of rejection in my chat/IM/dating site addictions) single 26-year-old.

I only recorded last night's show because Hal Sparks and Amanda Carpenter were on. I can't figure out how old Amanda is. I mean, is she in her late 20s? Early 30s? Mid 30s? Late 30s? Early 40s? I just can't tell.

Jake Ho is nitpicky about "F&F," but he's madly in love with Megan Henderson. For all I know, it's because she isn't Ainsley Earhardt. I know the feeling. When Michelle Malkin was the primary fill-in on "The Factor," anybody else that filled in was a knight in shining armor. I have to say this: I saw Megan on "F&F" yesterday (on the plaza with Clayton Morris, previewing the weekend shows) and she looks better in real time than in her headshot and the vidcap I saw here a while back.
Getting to back "Red Eye," which I brought up this afternoon, I think I've had my fill of it. I can only hear a guest introduced with "if [item/guest] were [item], I'd [reference to item with sexual innuendo inserted]" for so long before I've had enough. And I already brought up the attractive young women that I can't have that I have to see when I watch. And Meghan Asha (occasional guest) can't be a geek. Geeks don't look like her. Plus, geeks are very attainable, which she is far from.

This is unbelievable! Last week, we read that Olbermann missed a commencement address, and now Matthews! These idiots should not accept these invitations if they know that their job may call them away at any time.

And what is wrong with the schools inviting them in the first place? These two are just journalists. Plus they are on TV constantly, and because neither is afraid to inject their personal feelings into ANY subject, their thoughts are well known. There is very little they could say to graduates or any audience that could not be learned by watching their TV programs.

Also, it is certainly unfair to any conservative students to have two far left creatures such as these be invited to give lessons on life. Both are well known for disparaging women and conservatives, and making many inappropriate statements. Does the school really think these two are capable of giving meaningful lessons on life?

I just looked at the Hannity and Colmes video from June 6.

I have a few comments:

I am glad that H&C are reporting on the Moslem extremists who back Obama. Certainly, it is worrisome that Moslem (and African American) extremists are embracing Obama. I worry that Obama will not be vigilant against terrorism. Lack of vigilance can be extremely dangerous in an era when suicide bomber could detonate a bomb in a suitcase, blow up a city, and cause unimaginable suffering and horror.

As I said in another post, I believe that Combs is twisting Hagee's words about 9/11. I was glad to see Pipes partially rebut Combs when he pointed out that there are Jewish theologians who say exactly the same thing as Hagee about the Holocaust. I wish Hannity would do his homework so that he could completely rebut Combs smear of Haagee as being anti semitic.

If Combs was not twisting Hagee's words about Katrina, then I would agree that Hagee should have never said that the people of New Orleans got their just desert. But, did Hagee really say that? Or, was Combs spinning Hagee's words again?

I'll respond to him. Even after I suggested that I didn't want that link here he went ahead and posted it anyhow. OK, it's not exactly a rules violation.

But I didn't want it here because I thought it was rather a diseased spectacle. Olbermann likes to do nothing better than attack O'Reilly's private life. It's not enough to lie about what O'Reilly says, he has to bring in his family, his kids, and his private life.

I have never once seen O'Reilly talk about Oralmann's stalking of Rebecca Lobo, or his use of MSNBC emails to lure, romance, and then ditch gullible fans in a hotel room, leaving them with nothing but a half-empty bottle of cheap Merlot. Or his foul-mouthed emails telling people to do very strange things with their mother, or using every four-letter word known to exist in the English language. And then some.

The fact that our friend Haggis finds Olbermann's descent into O'Reilly's private life so funny is demonstrative. Anything goes in the politics of personal destruction. Even referencing unproven allegations in a civil case that never went to trial. That was and is a repellent display of Olbermann's utter lack of class. And those who cheer him on are in the muck with him.

Vince,

Word. Next Crash will be saying that Hagee approved of the Roman atrocity of killing Christ because Hagee used Roman atrocity to accomplish his purposes.

Crash must not realize that Israel has no better friend than Hagee and that Hagee not only condemns the Nazis but he has vowed to do everything he can to see that the Holocaust does not happen again.

That is the kind of stuff that I wish Hannity would say to Combs.

Are you really trying to equate the crucifiction of Jesus with the Holocaust? Bit of a stretch there, just like the one that got Hagee hung up.

Addtionally if you want Hannity to call out Colmes , so to speak, then Hannity should come clean on his past. That is if he cares one bit about integrity.

Turner's mythical relationship with Hannity is sort of on topic in that Hannity is on cable news. Of course the story goes that it happened when Hannity was NOT on cable news, so that makes it a very thin reed, and not one that has much relevance to cable news today.

You want to discuss talk radio, go to a talk radio site. You can't turn a conversation about radio into cable news talk by sticking a "what if Keith said it" at the end.

You said your piece I said mine, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

On the subject of Cable News, do you ever post about Ed Shultz's appearances on Cable News. I think a lot of people on the right would find his views very interesting as the often dispell many misconceptions that the far right has about the middle and the left. IMHO Ed is welcome voice for all us beer drinking, meat eating, gun owning, hunting and fishing progressives. We have a big tent.

Vince,

I watched your video concerning Cavuto's tips. Of course, it was all said tongue in cheek. I doubt that a lot of the tips would work.

I did like his point about Churchill having a temper. Indeed, the man had an explosive temper; yet he was one of the world's greatest leaders. I could see McCain's using invoking Churchill's name effectively the next time a reporter questions McCain's temper.

I am only going to say this one more time. Complaining about the rules is not on topic here. If you keep doing you will be edited or worse. And trying to get around it by quoting someone ELSE complaining about the rules ain't gonna save you.

If you don't like the rules, then by all means, feel free to go elsewhere. But don't try to claim that they aren't being enforced fairly, because we both know that isn't so.

End of discussion.

Vince,

In Christian theology, the crucifixion of Christ (who is God in the flesh) is the worst thing that ever happened. Whether you agree with that or not, that is what Christian have historically taught.

Christians have historically condemned Pontius Pilate and Judas and anyone who was responsible for Jesus' death.

Paradoxically, Christians have also said that Jesus' death on the Cross was necessary to bring about God's plan.

Colmes (and other critics of John Hagee) don't understand how Christians can condemn an act passionately; yet paradoxically say that God used that act to bring about his purposes.

Colmes hears that Hagee says that God used the Nazis to bring about the state of Israel and he thinks that Hagee approves of the Nazis.

That is not true at all. As is clear from other things that Hagee has said, he passionately despises Nazism; just as he despises the Roman evil that lead to the crucifixion of Jesus.

Colmes is smearing Hagee visciously, and he has done that more than once. Hannity should call him on it,

danny: Folks Colmes have no understanding when it comes to the nuances of religious thought... particularly when it concerns what Christians think of Jews.

Remember how disrespectful Colmes was towards Coulter during the "completed Jew" saga?

Anyway this is what Dennis Prager (a Jew) had to say in defense of Hagee

http://www.townhall.com/columnists/DennisPrager/2008/05/28/god,_the_holocaust_and_a_pastor?page=1

I am a God-believing, Torah-believing, religious (though not Orthodox) Jew, author of a book on Judaism and a book on anti-Semitism who does not agree with this theological explanation of the Holocaust.

...

As Rabbi Jakob Petuchowski, one of the greatest Jewish scholars of the 20th century, wrote: "Much of the national suffering of the people of Israel was explained by the biblical Prophets in terms of punishment meted out by God to a sinful people."

Regarding the Holocaust specifically, Ignaz Maybaum was a major 20th century Jewish theologian who identified "the Holocaust victims as vicarious sacrificial offerings for the redemption of humanity…"

There would be no reason to criticize other blogs if they didn't lie, distort, and just plain make up stuff about Fox that wasn't true. But with all of that, it's still a minority percentage of what this site is about.

I am sick of EVERYONE on Cable News trashing both Hagee and Rod Parsley. I wrote to Hannity about this last week, asking that he PLEASE have someone of intelligence on to counter Alan's ignorant verbiage.

I guess there are tons of ways to interpret Scripture; that is why there are so many different sects of the Christian faith. But Alan, Geraldo et al just feel that because a preacher interprets Scripture contrary to their secular humanistic philosophy, it must be "hate speech". In fact, the entire media seems to feel this way.

Rod Parsley has been involved for YEARS combatting our nation's laws regarding abortion (and partial-birth abortion), and has established numerous subgroups to combat the blight and genocide in various areas in Africa. Strange how Colmes, Rivera and the rest of the media leave that part out. Hagee and his "Christians United for Israel" have done what they can to see that Israel stays intact, according to the interpretation of Scripture that states that that is God's will. Again, he is not lauded for that, but is just perceived as "anti-Arab", ergo hateful, by the MSM.

It is unbelievable that these preachers and others are attacked by the MSM and even FNC people. So I am PLEADING that some evangelical with a forceful presence (or even Hagee or Parsley themselves) be allowed to defend themselves against these constant attacks from the left. It is unconscionable that these attacks continue, while no one of any presence is ever brought on to defend these preachers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

You seem to misunderstand a very great deal. It is not 'defending' O'Reilly to state the facts. The tapes, whatever they contain, have never been made public. No one, outside of those who have heard them, knows what is on them. That's just a statement of plain fact.

Excellent, tony. Just as the tapes--if they existed at all, O'Reilly's attorney asked to have them produced, but we never saw them--are confidential, so it the amount of the settlement. The suit was for 60 million, as a comparison point.

The same could be said of his allegations against her. Settled lawsuits are a tricky business to use as an arguing bludgeon, because there is no "proof" as to which side established what. Which is the way both sides wanted it in this case.

Sorry to get off topic, but what is going on with FNC's weekend schedule? Admittedly, I have to get a life and should not be so concerned with cable news programming, but they seem to just randomly put on the certain programs on the weekends with no rhyme nor reason to doing so.

Yesterday, I finally hunkered down a little before 10 p.m. to watch the Strategy Room, and found out that H & C was on live! Fine - I missed a lot of it but would catch it at midnight. But instead of the SR, they run a rerun of Fox Report, which I never even watch when it's on live! Now tonight, they're rerunning "Porked", which they showed last weekend.

Kimberly's program is apparently cancelled; Geraldo's is on sporadically (which is still too often).

I just wish they'd decide on something and stick with it. Does anyone else feel this way?

That's what I said...Nothing like you state: "efforts here on "cable news" are a waste of energy

Missy, I posted yesterday afternoon that H&C would have a special live show Saturday night. If you want the latest cable news info you aren't going to get it from sites that are consistently hours or days behind this one. Just a friendly tip!

Strategy Room is never on Saturdays. It's always on Sunday, and tonight's was especially good.

Missy, as long as they keep Fox News Watch and Hannity's America they can change it up all they want and I don't mind. I like a little dynamics in the schedule.

Good night HF, Cecelia, J$ and everyone else.

And if the highlight of HA was Ainsley jumping out of a parachute, I think I'll skip it tonight. Who is she related to that she's on so much?

Well, is this site (that you were addressing) that is defending a "cable news channel" or is it Plutonians, Haggis?

What a surprise looking at this site this morning! I haven't seen so much urine since I walked across the floor of that truckstop in Tupelo. What was that, Cecelia?

You raise an interesting question, Missy. Weekend on FNC is untethered these days, with the exception of Wallace. Maybe all the other talent doesn't want to be on the same day as that clown on F&F.

Great interview on Zakaria's new show today with Kissinger. That show is excellent. High quality and high intellect. I suspect it will leave the regular CNN line-up soon and be relegated to CNN International. No cable news network is going to offer so much on an on-going basis.

Man, you jump in and then say goodnight five minutes later? Can't you hang around a little longer than that?

BTW, I'm not that big a fan of HA, so you may enjoy it more than I did. The first half had some lively debate.

Seems a little odd that the supposed "mouthpiece for the GOP/Fox News would be naming R's for funneling earmarks for personal gain. Guess that shoots that whole "fair and balanced" thing...........)

OS, that's how you know it won't be mentioned over at the kennel.

This is a morning to be shocked. First, Cecelia's obsession with urine, then a relevant point from Mr. Sucks. If seen the segment before, and it is an important piece. An argument can be formed that the piece serves a particular agenda. What agenda would that be? I don't buy the argument. I simply think it was a good piece of invetigative journalism.

Well, they could run wall-to-wall reruns on sexual predators and prison life. That'd tether it pretty good.

I'm glad Kimberly show's is cancelled. The less Talking Head Lawyer shows the better

I agree. Her show was primarily missing/murdered women stories anyway. She's still a guest on certain Friday shows, like "F&F."

When Jeanine Pirro goes off to do her judge show, KG will probably get more airtime.

Of course, that's true, but it is also true this doesn't address the point that weekend programming on FNC is pretty poor these days. If you want me to say weekend programming on both FNC and MSNBC is generally bad, I will gladly and truthfully do so.

Now if you remember the impetus for the original discussion was a question about Christian and Jewish communities thriving in Moslem lands.Again,if Muslems are inherently violent and wish to wipe out Jews and Christians,as you postulate, and these lands had been under Muslim control for centuries, how could these ethnically and religiously diverse communities have survived.
