I really love the "but" in the left's representatives' handling of this story.

"But, if Palin is using a personal e-mail account for state business....."

Once again, fair and balanced FOX NEWS covering the story as well as possibile in a media culture invested in the agenda and political success of the leftwing.

Greta held her ground well.

If this had been Obama or Hillary....the reaction of the media elite would have been ballistic. There would have been no "buts" tempering the reaction, outrage at the violation of fair play.

Invasion of privacy is ok when it is a conservative, but when it is a liberal there is something evil lurking in the shadows!

I hate to see Greta do trash like this. It is an important topic. Actually, it is several important topics:

(1) The possibility of hacking.

---Nothing proven, and in a house as tumultuous as the Palin house must be, who knows how these were ontained?

(2) The possibility of conducting state business on a personal e-mail account.

---Who does that? It's grounds for firing with most companies.

(3) The possibility of using personal e-mail to shield impropriety.

---Why didn't she access state server remotely?

There are huge questions here. Hacking alone is a serious crime.

Greta's report had all the substance of a story about fashion choices at the conventions. This is a new low. Could I suggest Greta go back and redo this as a serious and important story? She has the ability, and it's time to show it.

The hacking needs to be covered as a story, no doubt. The personal email account to avoid FOIA also deserves to be covered. Hopefully our cable media will report on both.

Let's do hope. I'm counting on Hannity to get all over this.

Anyway.......
Are we surprised Geraldo wants amnesty? It's Geraldo. What do you expect?
Joe celebrates Keith's fall, but he'll backtrack when pressured by his bosses...again.
The site that published Palin's personal e-mails is not Daily Kos. I know the site that did, but I don't want to give them satisfaction by naming them.

The last person I saw say the t-word on FNC was Margaret Hoover back in April. But that was on "The Factor," which was recorded two hours before air, and the word was bleeped out.

GMAFB!!!

The Secret Service is investigating. It's a federal crime. And the left-handed snide remark regarding the Palin household disgusts me. Shame on you!
--------
It's still unclear exactly what happened, who was responsible, or how they obtained access to Palin's personal e-mail. Wikileaks attributed the break-in to the hacker group Anonymous, which has tangled with Scientology in the past.

Mark is getting better at sticking political jabs into his "comments". I'm sorry I missed the subtlety of that one. I haven't wanted to but it looks like I may have to crack down.

To elaborate, it was during a "He Said, She Said" segment. The topic was a new book aimed at children whose mothers were about to get plastic surgery or implants. If you'd (if Johnny especially would) like, I can provide links to her blog post about the book and/or video of the segment.

Okay, here's Margaret blog post before the segment where she blurted the word: http://margarethoover.com/2008/04/25/my-beautiful-mommy/
The video of the segment: http://tinyurl.com/4mgwx7
And my transcription on Topica of that moment: "Marc [Rudov], actually, you would agree with me on this because... You and I both agree those women's magazines where you flip through every page and you see skinny person after skinny person with big [beep] and small stomachs... Look, this is not helpful for the women in our culture. What's helpful is develop the self-esteem, feel good about yourself."
I hope you enjoyed this trip down memory lane that is only relevant because the same word was uttered on "F&F" this morning.

By the way, it's always funny when the crew and/or talent pretend to walk off the set of any show. "Match Game," for example.

Johnny,

Why does the wicket thing disagree with the number of the "visitors online" count on the halo scan message box?

Haloscan counts people reading the comments. The 'wicket thing' (I love that!) counts people reading the blog.

A certain troll left a [deleted] comment on my blog, mistaking my quote of Ms. Hoover (the "women's magazines" part) for my own personal opinion. Like I read those magazines. Give me a break.

But don't get me wrong. I'm straight and like women.
Now, I watched both nights of Greta's interview with Todd Palin. I thought it was great. I'd watch Hannity's interview with Sarah Palin, but I can't stand the man's voice or his doctrinaire style.

What the hell is that ratings suppose to mean? Less than 0.05% listened to her.

WOW! She's really smoking.

I love it when olbyloons/newsliars give this response to Fox News/ratings posts. One would think they could come up with a better response. But, nooooooo!

What's happened to O'Reilly's Bernie & Jane segments? I haven't seen them for some time.

I've been suckling the teat of the news sites for much of the day in between mountains of calls at work today. While some people have proven themselves boobs by celebrating Olby's fall, others display brains the size of a blue tit's in celebrating Maddow's "victory" even though she still lost vs FNC.

I've been wondering why Palin doesn't ever wear a nice low cut shirt. It would add boulders to her side of the approval scale!

It's only a once a week segment, right? I think they were on earlier in the week. Just looked, it's on Fridays. I work 7 days a week so my weeks run together.......

>What's happened to O'Reilly's Bernie & Jane segments? I haven't seen them for some time.<
My assumptions are the following: The segment is as good as dead. Jane Hall is still part of the "Fox News Watch" panel on weekends. Bernie (Bernard) Goldberg has retired to Asheville, NC, never to be heard from again. Monica Crowley appeared in Bernie's stead with Jane for three weeks. This was to transition into the new Culture Warriors segment featuring Monica with Margaret Hoover. All of this is what I am assuming. I could be wrong. Boy, Margaret is the woman of the day in this thread; no thanks to me, of course.
OS, the Bernie & Jane segment was a Thursday staple. It was originally called Policing the Press when it debuted in 2006(?), but changed to Weekdays with Bernie & Jane at some point last year.

I actually watched Part 2 of Sean Hannity's interview with Sarah Palin. It was pretty good. I was actually able to tolerate him. And the Governor looks her best when her hair is down.

I dont know why Jane Hall put herself though going on Bill's show. He would give her 10 seconds to speak
