I belive this story was to overplayed reason is to mask the true problem that the average american is going trough. Family and friends are loosing good jobs and their home, others are barely surviving cutting back on just about everything just to go on.
It is sad to see this, and you can only feel it if someone dear to you is going trough itmsee them and the kidz walk for the last time out of what was their home.
Please people see the reality of what is happening

You forgot to say what pecent are loosing their home or job. The media loves to high light the ones that are and play it for all that it is worth because it fits their narative.

True Kirk, I live near Detroit which is one of the hardest hit areas in the country economically and I don't see the picture painted by the press of doom and gloom. My property value may have gone down slightly last year (and my property taxes went up) but no one I know is losing their job or home.
If a democrat gets elected in '08 just watch how the MSM economic reports get sunnier even if the economy stays the same.

The two embedded videos show a contrast between Keith the kid and Major the grownup. Major wins in my book.

I notice Fox has been covering the crane that sliced a bldg in two in NYC. CNN and MSNBC running tape.

It's fascinating to watch Obama becoming the very politician he denounces so fervently. Dodging and weaving is getting easier for him.

Terrible news re: Laurie Dhue!
I can't believe they would let her go! I believe she was doing to Fox Report on weekends, plus, as mentioned by TVN, had the "Dhue point" segment on The Factor.
She was always a class act. Again, it's unbelievable that she's gone.

I guess this is why Greg Kelly was off F&F. They tapped him to do The Fox Report.

This is terrible. Where is she going to go now? I'll just bet she goes back to either MSNBC or CNN. If CNN, then she joins another FNC defector in Kiran Chetry. Plus, since she's from Atlanta, she could move back there and anchor from CNN HQ.

Who will take her place on "The Factor"? Mary Katherine, Laura or somebody new?

Martha MacCallum sat in for her one week. My suggestion would be: E.D. Hill.
Wouldn't it be funny if O'Reilly continued to call the segment "the Dhuepoint"? He won't of course, but it would be amusing.

Heather Nauert is the only person that filled in for Laurie in "The Dhue Point." I would think the segment will just be discontinued, leaving viewer e-mail as the only outlet for viewers to react to "Factor" segments and coverage. However, I like the idea of E.D. Hill taking over and renaming the segment. But still, discontinuing is more likely.

You may be right about Heather. I remember back in the day when it was Arthel Neville who came in once a week to give O'Reilly grief about this or that. Now those were lively exchanges.

I am right. She filled in back on December 6. I went to the BillOReilly.com Factor Archives to be sure.

It will be a sad embarrassment if Dhue signs up with CNN or messNBC.

I just realized that Laurie could also end up with CBS or ABC News. I suggest ABC, since it's the fairest of the MSM...not to say that it's *all* fair.

In my opinion, hiring Geraldo was one of the biggest mistakes FNC has ever made. Not only does he have absolutely no credibility whatsoever, but he also has the effect of sapping the credibility of frequent guests to his show (Keith Ablow, Jeanine Pirro, etc.).
Laurie was with him for awhile, and was affected a bit by his credibility vacuum. She got a chance to build it back up anchoring the weekend editions of the Fox Report, and she succeeded, in my opinion. They should have kept her on.

I'm beginning to have my doubts about this story. I mean, it's TVNewser that broke it.

That sounds like the first stage of grief: denial!  Actually, I wish I could doubt the story, but I suspect someone from Fox would have knocked it down by now if it weren't true.

Not one thread about it has been posted yet on BillOReilly.com's message boards. I don't post there anymore, but I just wanted to see what they're saying. They didn't like her or "The Dhue Point." So, they'll probably be ecstatic when they find out.

I couldn't finish reading the Hot Air comments re: Laurie. A few minutes ago, I wrote to the old "Dhue Point" e-mail address:
"I was very saddened to hear that Laurie Dhue is leaving the Fox News Channel. I'll miss her very much. What will become of my beloved 'Dhue Point'?
--Mike Chimeri (shimAIRe), 26
Wantagh, NY"
It couldn't hurt for anyone else to do the same. You can write to dhuepoint@foxnews.com and express your grief and/or best wishes. Somebody's bound to read the e-mails. I hope they do.

There's a bit of flap about Laurie's departure over at the FNC Central newsgroup.
An animated gif of Dhue was my last phone's screensaver.

Does anybody know on what terms Laurie Dhue left her previous cable news gigs? Maybe she will re-surface there. It sounds like she felt like she was worth more money than Fox wanted to pay, rather than a performance issue.
