New Megyn Kelly Smear Surfaces

With J$P Video! Updated: Ellen repeats racist slut smear!

It started with Soup Cans, who found something to complain about in this interview with Megyn Kelly:

Kelly made the following statement, which caught us quite by surprise:
"I stand by my comments on the Michelle Obama dress...bluish-green is not the color for these women."
Yes, she did indeed say "these women." We'll leave it up to you to judge what she meant by that comment. Listen to the full interview, including an ironic remark that Bill Clinton is "still upset that he was called a racist".
Then the innuendo was kicked up a notch by Jossip ("Megyn Kelly: Closeted Super-Racist?"):
Megyn Kelly is the worst kind of moron: tthe [sic] blond, perky, Republican kind.... Hemmer needs to put a ball-gag on that woman before they're both axed for being too racist--even for Fox News. First she started in with that baby's mamma crap with the Obamas...
Of course that was a chyron on the screen, which Ms Kelly had nothing to do with, and didn't even know was there. Be that as it may, Jossip continues:
Well, at least she said "these women" instead of "those women," or "you people." Little known fact: It's not racism if you change a letter. Semantics are tricky that way.
Now neither Jossip nor Soup Cans quoted the interviewer's response to Megyn's statement. So we will do that here:
KELLY: I stand by my comments on the Michelle Obama dress…bluish-green is not the color for these women.
HOST: And it blended in--you were right--it blended in with that background.
It should be remembered that the background behind the podium is a bright blue. And that the interview began by recalling Megyn what said on the night of the speech about how a blue dress blends in with that background:

Hmm. Soup Cans and Jossip didn't tell you that either. Given that there was no discussion about race, either in this interview or in Ms Kelly's statements Monday night, could it be that "these women" Megyn Kelly was talking about were the ones speaking at the podium in front of a bright blue background? Ya think?

UPDATE: The more disreputable and dishonest the smear, the quicker it will be pounced upon by the newshounds (another fine product of the Outfoxed syndicate). Sure enough, the biased bassets rushed to parrot the slander, but the most repulsive contribution was of course delivered by the hateful Ellen Brodsky, who found this to be a perfect occasion to reiterate her vile defamation of Ms Kelly all over again:
Megyn "I love to smear people of color" Kelly was disgusting as ever, I have forgotten which Democrat she was interviewing but she kept asking Cavuto mark questions beginning "Is it a fair question..."
That woman would probably say the "n-word" if she thought it would advance her career. God knows, it won't happen because of any real talent.
Wonder how her extramarital friendship with Brit Hume is faring in Denver.
It's amazing what envy and jealousy will do to an already twisted psyche.

I have red hair, and would never wear red or orange. So if Megyn referred to myself and others with my hair color as "these women", stating that redheads did not look great with certain colors of clothing, I'd certainly understand.

Also, - probably every women alive has heard that many shades of green don't look good on ANY of us! Compound that with the blue background, and what Megyn said makes complete sense.

And worst case - what if she DID say "these women", meaning black women? So what? She was right. She was not slamming Mrs. Obama's race, but the COLOR OF THE CLOTHING SHE SELECTED in relation to her skin color! Mrs. Obama could have looked vibrant in a bright color, but instead just blended into the background.

Megyn did an interview about a year ago about wearing certain colors while on TV, so she probably knows what she is talking about.

It's amazing what happens when you have all the facts....

There is nothing here....unless the FOX bashers want to make it up as they go along.

This may or may not be related - remember last month, when Obama advised people traveling with him to the Middle East not to wear green? Apparently had to do with green being the "color" of Hamas:

I think it's fairly obvious what she meant by "these women"

"could it be that "these women" Megyn Kelly was talking about were the ones speaking at the podium"

Would you not say "the other women"

Oh sure, Megyn Kelly is suggesting that ALL African-American women should avoid wearing blue and/or teal-blue...rather than "these women" speaking at the convention should avoid those colors.

That's just brilliant...

These guys will believe ANYTHING if it's negative about an FNC employee.

This is a pathetic attempt to smear my icon and the woman who takes after its image!

Nobody takes those sites very seriously anyways, it's just gossip fodder that will be forgotten tomorrow.

Excellent slapdown nonetheless, johnny.

Speaking of color choices, O'Reilly just slammed Hillary for her choice of the orange pantsuit!

I saw that, Missy. O'Reilly must be racist to think it doesn't go well with her pinkish skin tone!

Patrick, did you lose the ball you took home? It's not here.

Oh, and judging by your comment you're a misogynist.

Johnny, that's nothin' compared to what they called me earlier! I was a "racist" for posting biden's racist remarks and for posting jimmy carter's "black boy"comment. Go figure. On second thought, don't bother. It won't add up.

I think the left has far more trouble dealing with racist issues such as Joe Biden. Was he telling the truth when he said that Obama was the first mainstream black american who was clean and articulate? Or was Joe biden lying? MSNBC won't talk about it.

Funnie how these liberals are quick to find hidden racism in Megan Kelly but when the anti-Semite Jimmy Cater called Obamanation "this black boy" they had no problem with that.

Ashley,

With all due respect. I do not know Joe Biden and I certainly don't know his heart. But I don't understand how someone making a true, complimentary and encouraging statement, someone who seems like a descent guy, someone who, away from the partisanship inside the beltway, would probably be someone who it would be enjoyable to have a cold beer with on a hot day, should be considered a user of racially charged or racist speech.

It's the same type of BS that some are trying to smear Megyn Kelly with.

Everyone, right-left, black-white, conservative-liberal, Republican-Democrat, even NH-J$P have got to stop equating political opponents as enemies.

Making the racist charge for political gain is one of the most heinous and devisive tactics in the country.

It should not be tolerated just because the accused has a differnt letter after their name. It needs to be vigorously challenged no matter from where it eminates.

Sorry. End of sermon.

Which is exactly what I was doing at newsliars when I was called a racist. I posted bidens words and jimmy's words and asked if they considered them racist and I was the racist for asking.

Actually, Carter meant it in the literal sense, not the pejorative: http://hotair.com/archives/2008/08/26/defending-jimmy-carter/

Vstol,

Hear! Hear!

I despise that garbage too, no matter what side is engaging in it.

Bravo, vstol. I have conservative, liberal, republican and democrat friends who are all equally important to me. There are also a few J$P regulars and even one or two NH followers that I consider all smart, opinionated, driven, well-intentioned people. Differing politics don't have to mean division. They can be adhesives rather than repellants.

Thank you for the uplifting post, it made my morning.

vstol was saying something far more pertinent than that there are good people on varying ideologies.

It's an important point that if the folks at Jossip are a bunch of sleazes for taking Megyn Kelly's words out of context and using her trivial statement to smear her with one of the most devastating of charges, then we're no better when we do it. The excuse that this is what THEY do or what Olbermann does... is specious.

I'm not suggesting that this is what OS was engaged in doing at all, I just appreciate vstol's calling out the mindset that would take innocuous remarks like Biden's on Obama, in order to smear him with a heinous charge.

Charges of racism, misogyny and sexism, etc. are made too lightly in a sort of tit-for-tat manner that dirties the hands of anyone who does it.

Thanks again, V.

It's pretty clear that an ugly woman (Ellen Brodsky) who probably can't get a man, is totally jealous of a hotty like Megyn Kelly, who could get any guy she wanted. Jealousy is a mother!
