I have no cable news updates, I watched the whole thing on C-SPAN.

No commercials, no waving graphics, no ALL CAPS TEXT at the bottom of the screen, which never seems to me to be more than an attempt to tell me what to think.

Oh, and tons more candid shots of embarrassingly unreserved convention-goers. There was bad dancing and funny hats.

You're right, it's game over. There's no longer any pretense that KO is an objective journalist. By his own words, he has placed him self deeper in the tank for Obama than Matthews. It truly is objectionable, journalism it is not.

The two cohosts of the political/campaign/election/convention coverage on MS/NBC/DNC/OC are vying for the MPTVHitW Award (Most Pyscophantic TV Host in the Worrrrrld) and Keith Obamamann blows Chris right out of the tank. Game over, indeed.

"It's Obama Time".

It's all very interesting.

All of the cable nets were accurately stating that Biden was the VP choice hours before the famous "text message" was sent out. CNN and Fox Got it right. Unexpectedly, MSNBC got it right too.

The Obama Campaign stated that Obama would have the text message sent out "the moment he makes his decision". Today we learn that Obama made the offer to Biden on Thursday. 36 hours before the text message was sent out. It's Obama (not very) Time(ly).

And your point is? And maybe Biden did not tell him until the weekend he accepted. an offer does not mean acceptance, and what is wrong with making a decision in the middle of the night, I dont get your thinking.

Well Fox News Fixed My House, the point is that Biden did accept when the call came. Since Obama promised he would announce it to his supporters before he announced it to the media, in fact, he would announce "The moment he made his decision", yet waited 36 hours or so; if he can't keep that simple promise to his supporters...

When I heard about the "Jeez Joe, why don't you get a shovel?!" faux pas, I set the DVR to record 'Morning Joe.'

The Shuster dust-up was beautiful. It began while the Iraq file footage was still rolling, before the on-camera.

Joe's response to Shuster's opening partisan shot, "Shuster, I have no idea what you're talking about," followed by, "Hey Shuster, are you Rip Van Shuster? Have you been sleeping for the last couple of months?" which got a laugh from Mika, but the laughter didn't last long. She tried several times to 'big foot' Joe, but he was having no part of being stifled.

Coup de grace, "Do you never watch this show? Do you never watch this show?"

The dig at Shuster for the reason he doesn't watch the show because he overslept and didn't and "didn't show up three times in a row" was PRICELESS!

It seems to me that Scarborough went way overboard in his little back-and-forth with Shuster.

Instead of just making a point - a correct one about the bias at MSNBC - he really diid appear to try and humiliate or embarass Shuster.

Apparently all of the criticism of him as some sort of Republican mouthpiece for the network got to him. Olbermann's shot last night didn't help.

My hunch is that he's not long for that network.

It's amazing, the hounds have clearly been proven to be liars time and time again. They lie, they make things up, they lie, they wrongly manipulate facts to create non-existent scenarios and ridiculous theories, they lie, and their analysis is just plain awful. Yet, some of these posters just can't get enough of them.

Well, we now know Keith will debate a Republican ... when he has 3-4 people next to him who are also Democrats, when an open mike at the wrong moment leaves him no choice but to respond and (in all likelihood) when he can then go offstage after the show's over and complain to Phil Griffin that Scarborough started it by responding to Olby's comment that was not meant for airing.

My guess is Joe gets a talking-to between this morning's bout with Schuster and tonight's convention show, and that Keith's already yelled at the show's audio director for not cutting the mike off and forcing him to debate someone who wouldn't simply parrot back his talking points.

I was watching my local morning news earlier and some (I think) HuffPo guy was being interviewed and had to take a shot at Fox and saying how they are just trying to create a "brand" and not looking for the truth. Of course he uses Hannity as an example, someone who self-identifies his bias and is only on for an hour with someone of the opposite bias for one hour weekdays. That argument can be made exactly for Olbermann and he does not even admit his bias and gets his own show that airs twice in three hours of primetime and never even allows opposing point of views. Now THAT'S a brand!

Absolutely.

MSNBC started before Fox, and they had an advantage that Fox did not have, the use of an existing network news organization as the basis for their operation. They dumped or lost many talented people along the way. All they have ever done, all that they have ever accomplished, has led them to be number 4 in a three-way race.

Johnny,

Chris Matthews has reached the point where his being "in the tank for Obama" is a point of pride. To Matthews, that is an emblem of moral rectitude.

Olbermann has long resided in that intellectual abyss.

The majority of Matthews' "analysis" is nothing more than relentless exercises in spin, in order to equate any thing less than a full-on embrace of Matthews' candidate as being at best, subtle unconscious racism, at worst, the full fledged sort.

Individually Matthews and Olbermann are hard to take, as a team they are disgraceful.

Karl Rove is without question, the leading Republican analyst on the intricacies of electoral college strategy, an exceedingly experienced campaign operative with extensive knowledge of the who, what, where, when, why and how of shaping a message to the electorate, defining the candidate and defining his opponent. CNN would love to have signed him, IMO.

Regarding allegations against him: That was covered shortly after he joined Fox News, not as a reporter, but as a, one among many, Fox News contributor. He is not allowed to speak about the on going legal issue concerning the claim of executive privilege, which, BTW, was made by the White House counsel on behalf of the administration, not by Rove, over a congressional subpoena.
