Now just why in the world would the bad FNC folks have ditched Mr. Shanahan?

After all, it's perfectly clear from his piece "Stranded in Fox's lair", that the guy went to the party full of sincere cordiality and with nary an ax in the world to grind...

(what a creep)

His inane observations serve no purpose, I am sorry I wasted my time reading Mr. Shanahan's column. I'll know next time.

Johnny, this is the first time I've ever noticed Behind the Breaks from Fox News Watch. I think they should reverse the order and make Behind the Breaks the actual show and what was the show the breaks. The unscripted parts were very good. Did you notice Jane Hall asking if she had been "confrontational" enough? That speaks volumes.

I have a suggestion for CNN and Cafferty for how they might get out of the dog house with the ChiComs. They should send videos of CNN and MNNBC's hosts and guests attacking GWB, Cheny, Rove etc to demonstrate how they treat people they REALLY don't like. They could then point out that good old Cafferty was just playing a little light hearted patty cake with them.

The video at OW is great. I laughed so hard I almost cried during the "dramatic" readings. I'm looking forward to the update this weekend. KO seems to be particularly unpleasant and unappealing lately and we can't comment there yet. What a bummer!

How's this for a good weekend cable news story-

(linked from Drudge) http://www.nypost.com/seven/04192008/news/regionalnews/kinky_news_networkcnns_quest_a_very_knot_107174.htm

"CNN personality Richard Quest was busted in Central Park early yesterday with some (methamphetamine) in his pocket, a rope around his neck that was tied to his genitals, and a sex toy in his boot, law-enforcement sources said."

Freaky!

FF: I spotted that and was going to add it as a link, but then had second thoughts as the ewww /TMI factor weighed in. Now that you've posted it in the comments I think that covers it sufficiently for me.

Re: "hailed": The term is "*du* jour."
That was an absurd explanation of Joe's walk-off. It was like spinning a defeat to make it sound like a victory (which we've heard all throughout Primary season).

I read Sklar as much as I could, but when she started to do pro-MSNBC PR ("ratings are up," etc.) in spite of the jabs Mo Rocca threw Wednesday night, I gave up.

Over at Mary Katharine Ham's latest blog posting, I left the following comment:
http://townhall.com/blog/g/702550cf-1595-448f-a058-be38810475f4?comments=true#comments
"Let me just attempt to channel the far-left blog commenters by saying something they probably said already:
'I'd expect questions like that from John Gibson, but not Charlie/Charles.'
What do you think? Sound like something they'd have said?
Olbermann Watch has a clip of Thursday's John Gibson radio show where Angry Rich and Christine performed melodramatic readings of radical comments regarding the debate. It's a hoot, as my friend from Oklahoma would say."
And I stand by that. It was great. I loved it so much, I downloaded the free podcast for Hour 1 of that show. By the way, I think Christine is about my age.

I never thought of that.
I want to briefly revisit last night's WPITW. In naming BOR Worst Person, there was one little piece of information omitted from the transcript he read using his obnoxious, hysterical, mock voice (the omitted text is between the asterisks):
"Well, today the front page of The Wall Street Journal echoes our report *and smacks Immelt on deceiving GE stockholders.*"
So, Team OlberBrock made BOR sound like he was whining about WSJ not talking about what he wanted them to talk about...or something. And the Olbsession rages on.

There was a huge logical gap in the latest WPitW. Because the WSJ story didn't mention anything about Iran, Oralmann blew that up into Rupert Murdoch doesn't even believe it and he's cutting off that limb you're out on!

For one thing, Ol' Rupe doesn't write the WSJ stories, or edit them, or approve them, or screen them. For another thing, the story was about the financial aspects of GE, not the ethical questions of whom they deal with and whom they don't. But such fine distinctions are lost on Olby, who grows increasingly desperate to find things to attack O'Reilly on.

Oh I love when they do that. On Johnny Dollar's YouTube channel he has a handful of clips where they do it.. it's the funniest stuff.

In pursuit of truth in packaging, I think it has to be pointed out that Bill O'Reilly doesn't appear in this video (which, by the way, was purloined without permission from O'Reilly's website). I think it's rather a stretch to claim someone is "owned" because two other people are talking about him and he isn't even there. But thanks for the link anyhow.

I, on the other hand, don't offer thanks. But I know of someone that would offer Great Thanks.
Re: "Thursday's numbers": "Olbermann still has some growing before he regularly challenges O'Reilly"? I hope we never get to that point. He got clobbered Thursday night, both in the demo *and* total viewers. I'm very glad ICN is back because TVNewser has some bias sprinkled in.

I want to revisit another thing from the Friday thread: Hot Air's parsing of an extended "Fox and Friends" segment with Geraldo Rivera and Joe Piscopo merely to make Geraldo look foolish because the Hot Air hierarchy, commenters, and Michelle Malkin herself all hate him. They made Piscopo the invisible man. So, here is the FOXNews.com link to the first part of the segment:
http://www.foxnews.com/video/index.html?playerId=videolandingpage&streamingFormat=FLASH&referralObject=9623e2a6-6222-4b46-95b7-4552bdfd7bee&referralPlaylistId=a9594f0389e4ea58938175cbd26195fbedd640ad
Geraldo's joke was five minutes or so after the video ends, but I wanted to show you all what preceded it.
As I watched Friday night's "Red Eye" last night on my DVR, it occurred to me that Michelle Collins is probably the first Michelle to sit in "The Factor" studio--where the "Post Game Wrap-Up" segment originates--since Malkin filled in for BOR ages ago. (Thank goodness those days are over.)

In the "blame Maddow?" link, the following stood out: "Maddow ... employs a style she's been honing for some time: extreme rhetoric delivered in a flat, NPR-like manner. It's quite clear she's intentionally developed this technique while watching Randi Rhodes struggle to gain credibility." And I think Bill Moyers and Naomi Wolf do the same thing.
I didn't know Jim Pinkerton was so tall.

Heh, I believe he said he was 6'11". Later when they brought on Ellen Ratner to do the first "long and short of it" segment in months, the difference was really stark. She is only 4'-something.

I just did more revisiting; this time, to that Gibson-Levin-Gibson montage at OlbyWatch that I talked about earlier here and at Townhall. The Gibson parts were great. I tried to listen to the Levin part--and somehow, I did in full Friday night--but I couldn't tonight. I guess one of the trademarks of doctrinaire is repeating the same points over and over. Also, those aren't Democrats at MSNBC. They're even liberals. They're radical (far) leftists. I can't speak for the daytime anchors and Weather Plus meteorologists, but they're commentators (one of whom passes himself off as a journalist) fit that category.
I've said this a few times before, but not every 15 to 30 seconds like Mark. Where is "The Radio Factor" ranked in overall listeners? I thought I heard BOR say they were #2. Apparently, I heard wrong.
