Well, thank you, Mr Brokaw, for finally setting the record straight!

I'm especially gratified to see Brokaw FINALLY suggest that the McCain people had a reason to be miffed at MSNBC when the channel's political coverage host, Keith Olbermann, was gigging and criticising Republican pols, convention speakers, and the presidential ticket, nearly every time he appeared on camera.

lets face it, brokaw's objectivity is as questionable as olbyfat's. in my opinion, carrying water for the dnc in the guise of "i'm tom the old pro, huntley brinkley school of fake objective journalism brokaw" is maybe even more underhanded than the fatass's schtick.. you see, thinly veiled partisanship is perhaps more weasly than blatantcy. they all are in lockstep my friends.

VinceP, as long as there are people there will be stupidity and conspiracies. I'm just sad for the iPhone involved (I think J$ agrees).

Where was security when this verbal assault was taking place?
Joe should have thrown the nut down the elevator shaft, along with his camera phone.

J$,

I noticed that you authored an article around July 2008 that debunked the claim that debunked the claim that 88% of Fox Viewers supported George Bush over John Kerry.

I find it interesting that Rasmussen published a poll only a month later that stated 87% of Fox viewers were going to vote for John McCain.

Do you it somewhat ironic the timing of your article and that of the Rasmussen poll?

Nope. The Rasmussen poll (an automoated telephone robo-poll) is nowhere near as in depth and careful as the Pew poll. The sampling and criteria vary wildly, particularly in how a 'viewer' is defined. The Pew poll (part of their extensive annual 'state of the media' reports) is still considered the gold standard of media analysis and is certainly recognized as such by the media themselves.

In fact, a subsequent Pew poll came out since that article, and I intend to write (I hate using 'author' as a verb, even if I do it myself now and then!) an update as soon as I can analyze the quarterly cable news ratings which haven't been published yet. That way I'll have the latest Pew poll as well as the latest numbers. We'll see if my conclusions still hold.
