I'm not really into network boycotts, but I don't intend to watch any portion of the Olympics this year. I enjoy the track and field events and the swimming and diving, but the repression and the human rights violations by the Chinese government have left me with the inescapable conclusion that I cannot support any part of this sham and shame. So, NBC/MSNBC are off my radar for a time. I also find Bush's visit deplorable. I suppose he remains on my radar until 20 January, like it or not.

Matthews v. Specter in 2010 in Pa. I've voted for Specter in every race except '92, when I wanted to send him a message about his treatment of Anita Hill.I'd like to see how Mr M presents himself.

Curious that the Far Right describes Matthews as a "liberal member of teh "drive-by media". Many on the left (as opposed to moderates of both parties) see him as too conservative. Reckon if left and Far Right both attack you,you must be doing something your job.

Here's the LA Times site on blogs publishing the KFC story two days before it was reported on FNC.

That's no excuse for F & F getting it wrong, but it makes you wonder if the story wasn't mentioned in the rest of the media because they just didn't give a damn.

Wouldn't even a rumor of an American fast food franchise opening up in Iraq be news enough for more than TPM to have checked it out and told the public it was false?

Apparently the restaurant is a real KFC, but not a real Col Sanders operation. It stands for Kuwait Food Company, and they have hundreds of fast-food places in the region. But this was the first time they opened one in the once-dangerous Fallujah area. The squabble over whether it was a "real" KFC or not was handy to create something that could be called a "lie", but I may be wrong, but I think the point was not who the CEO of the restaurant was, but rather than it opened at all.

With that, we've explored all that needs to be explored about this earth-shattering blockbuster story.

If you want a place to post your favorite links of the day, then get yourself a blog and have at it. This thread is not the Haggis links thread. It's the cable news comments thread.

You've already posted a couple of links in this thread. Now it's time for you to back off and try engaging in what other people want to talk about. This thread does not exist for you to hog with one link after another.

I wouldn't have posted this publicly but you asked in the deleted post, and there is no email for me to contact you. That's why it's out in the open.

I don't think anyone was critcizing FNC for running the A380 link. It was a comment, perhaps a bit of struting by our EU friend since Airbus got the A380 airborne well before Boeing got its 787 up. The A380 is most assuredly news, and it's a wonderful, graceful, mammoth. I watche the Emirates's landing at JFK on MSNBC. This was good, happy news.

Interesting monday numbers. - I see there were more total viewers of BORs rerun were more than K"C"Os live edition.

I also see that "the demo" that K"C"O likes to brag about continues to not be his friend. BOR has 45% more of those and almost 300% more total viewers when he goes head to head with Mr. Czechoslovakia.

Great ratings for BOR. Must be his credibility. Well done.

Well I guess the wonderful folks from the UK knows whats best for them.

Too bad though, because you are missing the opportunity to see the same newsumentaries (lockup, TCAP, and some of the other oldie Datelines) every weekend, again and again and again.

Well, the good news is that no one is watching messnbc here either and Brewer is a total lightweight. Come on HF, you can do better than cheerleading for her. There are several talented folks there, but not Contessa in my humble opinion. Others must agree with me as her numbers appear to trail QVC and HSN.

The wonderful folk from the UK (well put) are stuck with a Murdoch owned satellite service...There's your reason for no MSNBC....But thankfully we receive CNBC.

Brewer may be a lightweight but she didn't take any crap from Corsi...On the other hand Hannity just lapped up Corsi's nonsense...And I suspect BOR will do likewise when he appears on The Factor.

Isn't his job to represent the conservative side? Did Alan Colmes lap up Corsi's 'nonsense' as well? Or don't you get Colmes over on the Isles, only Hannity??

The reason that MSNBC does not broadcast in the UK is because the people of the UK are stuck with a Murdoch owned satellite service?

Huh? Are you in some weird way trying to blame Rupert Murdoch for this? Seems like it's a simple case of lack of consumer demand.

I wasn't talking about that. I was talking about H&C. I'm beginning to suspect you didn't see either showing but are going off internet sources. Of course I could be wrong on that, but usually people don't have to go off and research before answering a simple question like that. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong and you did see H&C.

Well, for years, Canada never had Fox, but the consumers demanded it and eventually got it a few years ago. I guess there is no demand for MSNBC in the UK.

That MSNBC interview was horrible.

She spent most of the time being incredulious... and then asserts Media Matters as some sort of disinterested fact checker.

She did the similiar thing that Beckell tried to do.. just assert he has no credibility and ignore the arguments.

I recall that Ellen Brodsky has told NH readers that they they "cannot be too rude to [vulgar word referring to Johnny Dollar]"

Looks like John t and Average American Patriot are following the directives of their fearless leader (Ellen).

Therefore, the abusive posts that have been on this site from John t and Average American Patriot should be viewed as extremely rude posts from the warped mind of Ellen Brodsky. She is acting through her agents (followers) to harass this site.

Maybe someone should complain to her internet provider.

I caught the Hannity radio show today. Much of his program centered around the Obama quote that was referenced here.

Hannity said that Obama should not send a surrogate to tear him (Hannnity apart); that Obama should do it himself.

Hannity offered Obama the opportunity to co host his radio show. Hannity guaranteed him 25 million listeners. Hannity also said that Obama could replace Colmes for a show, and Hannity would give Obama the opportunity to tear him apart on television.

Hannity also threatened to have a plane with a banner fly over where Obama is peaking (perhaps the outdoor speech at the convention). The banner would invite Obama to tear Hannity apart on radio or on television.

Anyone want to wager that Obama will accept the invitation?

If so, I might take your bet.
