The sagging Countdown ratings that were apparent prior to this year's election cycle are back as KO's show finished 11th in the cable news prime time key demo #'s last Thursday. Pity.

Finally, Alan is gone! Geeze, I hate to be mean spirited. But I gave up trying to look at him and always switched to another channel when it was his time on camera.
Wow! What a great selection of liberal candidates from which to chose for FNC. I can't wait to see the results.

I vote Bob Beckel as the replacement. He's smart, quick, not Skeletor, and strong enough to keep his own with Hannity.

Sad news that Alan is leaving H&C...But who can blame him...12 years of listening to Hannity would drive anyone bonkers.
I don't expect a replacement...FNC will run Hannity's America (what a terrible place that would be) 5 days a week now...I'm not usually wrong...So I'll drop by the beginning of 09 for my winnings.

I totally agree with you Alabama Dem, who could handle sitting by that clown for the last 12 years.

Also Hannity's America is tied as Fox News worst show along with Huckabee, If Fox was smart that would offer Keith Olbermann( although he just renewed his NBC contract) the job and give him a blank check, he would take that Fair and Balanced line and shove it right down Hannity's throat. Could you imagine Olberman's America.

I voted for Ellis Henican. I'm just glad that Alan will still be at FNC despite stepping down from "H&C." I never like it when somebody leaves/is fired from/is not renewed by FNC.

Just a pity Robert Gibbs has a much more important job now the Dems have (nearly) complete power.
But one can dream of Robert tearing Hannity apart nightly....Like he did during the election

Dem From Illinois, I like your thinking there.

Gotta go with Marc Lamont Hill. The guy is smart, and what's more important, he's more aggressive than Alan Colmes in maintaining the liberal end. Plus he talks fast, so he can quickly get out his point before being interrupted by his guests.

Bob Beckel. He has previously taken on Sean Hannity how most normal/thoughtful people should, with humor and a healthy dose of humility.

Trying to "out-ego" Sean Hannity is not a good tactic and would kill the show, putting it down into the COUNTDOWN ratings territory.

I agree with John-O, if my original prediction is wrong (solo Hannity)...Marc Lamont Hill would be my candidate for the job...With his great intellect he'll run wrings around Hannity
But sadly Hannity will have a choice in the matter...So he'll pick someone he feels he can dominate...So Kirsten Powers will get the job...She's been pretty much 'republicanised' already by the Murdoch machine....Sad but true.

I went for Hennican, who is smart, and sarcastic and bitter enough to garner attention.

Kristen Powers is too plaintive and Bob Beckel too predictable (though you can't get more predictable than Hannity).

How funny that the day I come back to reading comments here after a time away you ask where I went Cecelia. I feel loved!  Suffice it to say that I've been very busy with friends and family lately (good busy not bad busy).

To be honest, I'd agree with some of the mutts who didn't like Colmes much for being too weak and would like to see a stronger opposing viewpoint. Marc Lamont Hill is always a great presentation on BOR even if he reminds me of a used car salesman sometimes (no offense to non-sleazy fast talkers).

I'd actually like to see Hannity and Olbermann, let's see what old Olby can do when he has someone competent to debate with instead of the usual nodfests he engages in on his show. Hell, I'd like to see Olby debate at all. Pipe dream, but not even Obama can take those away from me. *clinging*

I am not this Patrick you keep calling me my name is Phil, do you want to see a copy of my Social Security Card or something. As I said yesterday I cane upon this site a few weeks ago, when I was watching a You tube video of something on Fox. Evidentally Mike C you had a difference of opinions with this person., or perhaps we have the same political views. In all honesty I do not know of too many liberals who
A. Like Fox News
B. Like Hannity or for that matter O'Reilly
C. Believe Fox is "Fair and Balanced"

There are more than just a couple of us (Liberals) out here, as the last election should have showed you. We won and we won big. If you cannot handle listening to someone elses point of view or are to thin skinned to handle it, then maybe you need to find another topic to blog about.

There is nothing wrong with having a passion for your beliefs regardless of what your beliefs are, so if I go off about Fox News for being too conservative and you go off about MSBC, Olbermann and CNN, as long as you don't get personal, I think, It all good. So Mike C in my opinion and its just my opinion you need to chill a little, and not think that everything is a personal attack on you, its an opinion and as we all know opinions are like assholes we all have one.

Thanks for the welcome Fox Fan and touche Cecelia, very nice comeback.

If he prepared himself more and didn't rely on "Come on!" as a rebuttal, he'd be more watchable.

BOR's off until Monday, but there will be best of shows tomorrow, Thanksgiving, and Friday nights. What endears me to him is, as I stated earlier, how he is down the middle in his beliefs and isn't beholden to one ideology, even though detractors like to label him as a right-winger. He lets all points of view be heard, but if anybody spins on either side, he'll stop them. It is the No Spin Zone after all.
Hopefully, my answer made at least a little sense. I don't have much faith in swaying you.
