Johnny, is there any way you can get ahold of Joy Behar's interview with Gore Vidal? I distictly heard Vidal fantasizing about how he wished he could have murdered George W. Bush. And Behar laughed at the comment - or at the very least, she didn't challenge it!
What a disgrace. Behar's show is such a train wreck. This may end her show if this gets out.

Chris, you asked a few weeks ago what had been GWB's attitude toward the press due to the overwhelmingly negative stories on him and had they reacted as BHO is.
The incident that I briefly described in answer is available here at News Busters:
The first link in the story is to the original story.
Johnny also has a nice segment and comments at OW:

I read the Media Matters piece and as usual it is full of distorions.
As with the Heinous Hens of Houndland they seem to not fully understand the difference between news and opinion.
And some of the things they use as examples are taken totally out of context.
As far as the war between Fox and the White House, it is my opinion that Obam is messing with the wrong people.

Thank You. I asked about and really didnt research it for myself, usually I do and forgot.
I totally forgot about the hatchet job NBC did with Pres. Bush and the WH correctly went after them
Ailes run for president in 2012? Friends are pushing him to run, that is if this report is correct:
Speaking of Media Matters, I wrote two different posts last night about them and Fox news. One MM using out of context clips and the second, after all the bashing MM does of fox news, CITES THEM. ( I would not have brought any of this up but I see a link about MM here)

The White House/far-left jihad against FNC is only helping FNC get more viewers. Those new viewers tune in and figure out, "Hey, this network isn't so bad. What is the White House talking about?" And they stick with it.

They just want to make sure I have enough material for the next FHWiR. They're so accommodating.

I appreciate them accommodating you!
I also look forward to their defense in explaining why they use the term "porch monkey" to describe a black person.

I wonder why one very smelly cur at the Kennel has not bayed at the moon over BHO's unprecedented action in trying to lock Fox, a member of The Press Pool, out from a Press Pool round robin yesterday with the Pay Czar. Could it be b/c ABC/NBC/CBS?CNN stood with Fox against a very scary and improper attempt to interfere with the freedom of the press. I'm just dying to see how they handle the story.
I've seen a totally ignorant comment complaining about how the stupid Fox Nation folks are all up in an uproar just b/c BHO did what he has every right to, which is stick it to that non news organization Fox. Why is it that the most pitifully uninformed will always jump into the pile feet first ahead of everyone else?

I was checking Reddit out today. Do those nut cases actually think they are talking to someone.
I see a lot of posts over there but no responses. This leads me to believe tahy are trying to outdo each other to determine who is actually the most ignorant.

I think Bernie Goldberg was spot-on tonight with Mr Bill. The reason all the other nets got behind Fox was because it was a pool event, and if Fox wasn't allowed to participate then instead of using one set of cameras, audio guys, etc for all the interviews, each network would have had to bring in their own people to get their 5-minute interview. That would have been cumbersome and costly. It's entirely an open question whether the other nets will be 'noble' about the Foxcott when it doesn't affect their own operations in this fashion.

The WH press folks and Obama are morons for their "war on Fox News".
Honest question since I don't recall him ever doing it: Did Bush ever call out MSNBC or Olby? What was their response?
It would cause ratings explosions either way.

It's not about money, or about the cumberness of having to bring in their own techs and equipment (although this isn't far off the mark), or about the 1st Amendment, or even about the nobleness of standing up for what's fair and what's right.
It's about turf.
The WH press pool was created by....wait for it....not the WH, but by the WH TV press corps. It was established to share expenses and resources, to save time and effort, and to simplify the on camera interview process.
The WH press pool sets their own rules, their own guidelines and technical standards, and their own schedule.
The Obama Administration was attempting to set a precedent, to initiate a new practice, to throw their weight around and usurp a new power. Administrations come and go. Just because the current WH occupants may favor one network over another doesn't mean future WH occupants will play the same favorites. At some point in the future, a President Ellise Jebbie Walker Bush may decide that NBC News isn't.
Besides, when someone starts to dictate conditions, they're on their way to becoming a dictator
