Fox Haters Week in Review

Updated! Lies, missing links, cropped quotes, and personal attacks. All that and more in today's edition of Fox Haters Week in Review.

Lies, Damn Lies, and Keith Olbermann
When you believe that Fox News is "worse than Al Qaeda", that pretty much makes you King of the He-Man Fox-Haters Club. And hardly a week goes by where Keith Olbermann doesn't live up to that responsibility. On Wednesday Olby did a Foxapalooza: an entire segment dedicated to attacking Bill O'Reilly and Bernard Goldberg, complete with those so-funny voices Keith loves so much. You know, just like the ones Edward R Murrow used to do. After blaming Goldberg for a couple of murders in Tennessee, "journalist" Olbermann pulled one of his trademark selective edits. Since Goldberg had named MSNBC #1 on his list of liberal attack machines, Keith chortled:

Goldberg has routinely dismissed MSNBC and COUNTDOWN as irrelevant and trivial for the same reason. But we‘re also at the top of their list for worst, best, most influential liberals in the media.... Boys, either we have no ratings and don‘t count or we‘re the worst liberals in the world. Even in your fun-house mirror world, it cannot be both.
Of course that diatribe only makes sense because Olbermann deliberately omitted the very first words Goldberg spoke about MSNBC:
It's not because of their influence, not because of their size, because this group has no influence and very little size, is MSNBC. I have them on the list at No. 1 because they are a division of a major news organization, NBC News.
Olby goes beyond slicing-and-dicing quotes into flat-out falsehood when he references a Fox News poll from 2006:
By the way, funny this question about Democrats wanted Bush to fail poll by Fox News from Fox News shows up out of nowhere on Fox News this week. No direct link on the web.
An Olbermann Lie.
It turns out that when Fox wrote up the poll results in 2006, they never even bothered to include anything about the question about wanting Bush to fail until this week.
Another Olbermann Lie. The write-up, posted on August 11, 2006:
Finally, 63 percent of Americans say they want President Bush to succeed, including majorities of not only Republicans (90 percent), but also independents (63 percent). Just over half (51 percent) of Democrats say they do not want the president to succeed.

Deaf, Dumb, and Blind
There's nothing like a good HeadLie to convince the credulous, and newsmutt Ellen is the master. For example:
FOX News Gives Sen. Vitter A Pass On Reported Airport Meltdown
Um, how exactly can this be the case, when it was covered multiple times, including reports by Bill Hemmer, and twice by Bret Baier? Well, Ms Brodsky has an answer to that:
  • Not a straight news report....I'm talking about a discussion where it was really focused on.
What's the purpose of this parsing when her "gives a pass" headline has already been shown to be a lie? But wait, there's more:
I've not seen any discussion of Vitter's misbehavior (at the airport or with the Madam) on any FOX News show, either.
Why Ellen brought up the old Vitter/Madam incident is unclear. Maybe she figured it was so long ago nobody could disprove her claim. But it really isn't that difficult. There's this, and there's this, and then there's this, just to name a few. And that's not even counting the newsmutt's own posts (mis)describing various Vitter/Madam discussions on Fox. Is Ellen claiming she doesn't even see the articles on her own site?!?

Attack the Messenger
Part of any Fox-hating operation is to take shots at those who don't fall for their drivel. And so it is that J$P is increasingly the target of the the newshounds and their matriarch, Ellen Brodsky. Yes, this is the Ellen who brags about filing ISP complaints for the crime of posting on a comment thread, and admits to scouring the internet for any references to J$ so that she can "post comments about his character on every other blog that cites him". Obsessed much?

When a commenter dared to question the latest hound salvo in the O'Reilly/Alexa flap, Ellen jumped in to redouble her attacks on J$P. Oddly, the name of that commenter eventually changed from "Ellen" to "Alex", but whoever wrote it, it's a window into the mongrels' psyche. Speaking of J$ and J$P, Ellen/Alex creates an elaborate fiction:
  • We said he claimed to have contacted the foundation and received a response. If you want to talk about documentation then perhaps you should ask Mark Koldys to produce evidence that the exchange really took place. It is up to him to substantiate his claim, not us.
Um, where exactly did we ever claim to have contacted the foundation? Where did we ever say an "exchange took place"? Who is making up this claptrap, Ellen or Alex? Of course they could just link to where we made this "claim"; that would be proof. But--wait for it--they have an excuse for that too:
  • I will not boost his ratings by linking to him from this blog.
Well, isn't that conveeeenient? The real reason they can't link to this "claim" is that it doesn't exist, we never said it, and Alex (or Ellen) is lying.

Tolerance and Understanding
Our racial tolerance moment of the week again comes from our pals, the newspoodles. It seems they didn't approve when Michelle Malkin dared to call Nancy Pelosi a "diva". That must be considered an egregious example of hate speech at the kennel. But if it is, then what is one to say of this comment, sanctioned and approved by the newshound mods:
  • OK, well on just as much authority and evidence, I declare Malkin to be the love child of an opium whore from Manila and a syphillitic ape ... and I further assert that the little anchor baby fruitcake got her brains from the simian in that equation.

UPDATE: Newshound Ellen posted a reply to our article. Regarding who wrote the comment we quoted, Ellen or Alex, Ellen responded:
I see now that Koldys/Dollar is suggesting I'm the same person as Alex. HAHAHAHA. Another lie, Johnny Boy!
No, we don't know what she's talking about either. Regarding complaints to ISPs, Ellen responded:
Along with the blatant lie that I filed a complaint about your for "posting on a comment thread." What really happened, as Koldys well knows, is that he spent years harassing us on this blog and deliberately ignored many, many, many polite requests to leave us alone. After at least the hundredth time he ignored our request, he was warned that we would file a complaint against him for harassing us if he did not stop. After he ignored THAT request, we made the complaint.
Regarding Ellen's false headline about Fox News and Vitter, her allegation that she was unaware of any Vitter discussions on Fox (despite articles recounting same on her own site), her admission that she intends to post on every website that cites J$P, and the newshound's thin-air claim that I said I wrote to the Alexa Foundation and received a response, Ellen responded:

Well...she didn't respond.

This isn't the first time she's used this line. It gives her that little bit of wiggle room she desperately needs and relies upon. This line is usually followed by a downplaying act when proven to be wrong.

Someone needs to tell the News Clowns that the person that they have apparently designated to read this blog and report back, needs glasses.

They need glasses only if they want to read accurately and report the truth. No specs are required to make stuff up!

It could both, Johnny.
They send Patrick over here because they know he hasn't learned to read and WILL make things up...

I thought it was usually followed by a Mark-Koldys-is-a-dirtbag comment, but I could be wrong.

The (self-described) "dreaded" Patrick isn't the only one that monitors J$P. T-bone, average American p****, and pegleg all also report back on goings on here.
Hi NHs!

Harassing in what way, Ellen? By telling you gals how wrong you are?
Bernie Goldberg once said about Ann Coulter, "It's not that Coulter is thin-skinned; she simply has no skin st all." Well, I think that describes Ellen to a T.
You got that Ellen? I just compared you to Ann Coulter. (Yes, folks, this is one conservative that actually dislikes Ann Coulter.)

I love the Fox Hater's Week in Review. By far the most satisfying read just about anywhere on the web about cable news. Bravo, J$.

My point is that FOX News and Hannity made a huge deal out of McKinney with lots of discussions. She was the TOP STORY on Hannity & Colmes. That's a world of difference from a brief news mention at the end of Grapevine.
I'm not going to respond to you further on this.

As I linked, the hounds themselves did a big write-up on a Vitter discussion on H&C. That's on their own freaking website, and Ellen still claims to know nothing about it.

I don't think that's true for all of them, but certainly there were velociraptors that were intrinsically less reptilian than Patsy and Patrick.
But then, velociraptors had bigger brain pans than both these antisocial disordered juveniles too.

Ellen only reported you to your ISP? She must be getting soft. A while back she claimed to have reported me to the FBI and to Planned Parenthood (Ellen doesn't care much for my URL).
Now, I wasn't too concerned about being referred to the FBI because (at least under President Bush) I rather doubted that they had a problem with free speech. Her fingering me to Planned Parenthood was of much more concern--who knows to what lengths they would go to to get even with someone who publicized the fruits of their labor (oops, bad pun there).

I wouldn't call it censorship. I try to keep this site focused on cable news, so sometimes if I spot a political jab that I know is just going to derail the entire discussion I'll discreetly edit it out!

"Ellen doesn't care much for my URL"
Well, neither do I, perhaps for different reasons, I don't know. It's too graphic to use as a homepage link at this site, and I've edited your messages to remove the link. You're welcome to post, and I won't report you to Planned Parenthood (!), but please do not use the 'homepage' box to post links that are so graphic.
