For those who think Glenn Beck is just a kook (or even a danger), I give you a quote from yesterday's response to the diarrhea of the mouth of the elitist cabal of Maher et al....

"I think [Tim Russert] was a guy who engaged in honest questioning. No matter what side of the aisle you were on, on Sunday morning, you could turn him on and he'd piss you off or make you cheer, and usually in the same episode. He would ask the tough questions, and he was fair. The only agenda that Tim Russert seemed to have was the truth...Nobody made Tim Russert. He made himself. If you miss him, you should become him... When journalists decide that the only thing that sends a chill down their leg is integrity, well then maybe America will be able to trust them again."

Ed Schultz did a good job filling in for Shuster on 1600 yesterday.

You know where Ed stands on the issues, but he allowed both sides to be aired.

1600 is ostensibly an impartial show. Hopefully, Ed will continue providing balance, if and when he gets his own MSNBC show.

Maher was right about Beck, he's a lunatic.

Being an elitist is good thing though. If only Beck would aspire to that... Or, at least aspire to thinking a little...Well, at least to aspire to think once in a while...Okay, okay, to give thinking a try.

O’REILLY: Everybody, all the statistics and studies, show if you don’t have a father supporting the family, you’re probably poor.

What planet does Bill live on? I'm convinced he's still living back in the 40s/50s....Thankfully Hoover was on the ball and shot back telling Bill that comment was sexist.

Yes, and while you raised a stink about something else (Juan Williams) that was roundly ignored, you didn't even raise an eyebrow at these 'ridiculous words' even as you heard them being said. But once TP found them outrageous, then you fell into line. It's just good to know the timeline, that's all.

I see The Factor is on right after President Obama gives his press conference tonight...Let's hope he gives in-depth answers like he did in his previous PC....The only problem with this is....Bill then tends to get lost and confused and ultimately board when the answers are more than a couple of words long....But in Bills world he would really like to see simple answers like yes/no....The same sort of answers his questions generate on the factor.

I don't see what's ridiculous with thos words. But if the stats don't show poor, their are two other possibilities:

1) show that the fatherless family is rich (which I find highly doubtful)

2) show that there is no statistical difference between families with fathers vs. families without fathers (which I also doubt)

BORs comments sound realistic to me, but if Haggis has stats that prove O'Reilly wrong, then he should produce them.

I believe that “statistics and studies” show that two-parent families are, on average, better off economically than one-parent families.

O’Reilly’s leap to the conclusion that it’s a man who has to support the family is just his little 1950’s fantasy.

Amazing. For the last two weeks, Bill O'Reilly's RADIO FACTOR commentary was simplified down to, "he's blaming the victim," while there was much more to it.....and now he can't hold a flame to our soundbyte President, "You're doing a great job, Brownie, I mean Timmy," Obama in the nuance and intelligence.

From the comments on the Red Eye rant article:

"But what do you think would happen if the situation were reversed and a Canadian TV show bashed American troops? I can tell you: Gutfeld and his Fox News friends would chew us up spit us out for having the audacity to insult American troops that are risking their lives so we can live in peace and security."

Two parts of this comment tweaked my interest.

1.) Least first: The article wasn't about the bashing of a TV show by a TV show from the offended country. It was about public outrage stoked by Canadian "talk radio and national media as well as the blogosphere and Twitter" being aimed at the wrong target; i.e., " some cult Fox News show that repeated the same lines that are contained within our chain letters and that This Hour has 22 minutes, Royal Canadian Air Farce, and Rick Mercer have receive millions of taxpayers’ money to spoof on, but at the shameful conditions we demand our forces serve under."

Taking aim at the real culprits, "...we should all be offended by the 1.5 decades of Liberal assault on the military and abuse of our forces and concerned with the subsequent problems that followed from attempting to 'fight a war with peacetime process'."

#2.) [next post]

Re: "Monday's numbers": It was another great night for FNC. Tonight will be different, though. Here's how I think it'll break down:
5PM-7PM: FNC 1st, CNN 2nd, MSNBC 3rd, HLN 4th
7PM-9PM: CNN 1st, FNC 2nd (3rd 25-54), MSNBC 3rd (2nd 25-54), HLN 4th
9PM>: FNC 1st (2nd 25-54), CNN 2nd (1st 25-54), MSNBC 3rd, HLN 4th

However, there is a probable chance that MSNBC will come in 2nd in total and 25-54, and maybe even 1st in 25-54 during Oralmann's show (whenever it airs). I hope that does not happen.

Juan wasn't outrageous. The Coach K quote isn't discredited, totally or partially.

FNC does not employ propagandists. FNC employs reporters, commentators and hosts of opinion programs who express their opinions.

Does "a hater of things Obama" mean haters of Obama, hater of things or folks who disagrees with some of the President's policies and his admistration choices?

I must say, the Obama Administration is starting to grow on me.....

On COUNTDOWN, David Axelrod basically said, "Stupid, irrelevant question, Olbermann, move on...." leaving the venerable faux journalist mumbling something unintelligable and trying to recover some of his manhood.

And the really funny thing is that Olbermann's question to Axelrod was one suggested by Mathhews in the lead up.....a question about using Senate procedure to push through the Obama budget.

What a putz. I changed over to O'Reilly to get some more original, cogent and thoughtful material.

I suppose Olbermann moved on to more important topics like Ms. Terkel's ordeal.
