This is off-topic, Johnny, but I'd like to say that though you're a cause for much whining from a few of the loyal opposition, I have had an experience that really puts that phenomenon into perspective.

Until recently, I could count on one hand the amount of times I've commented on blogs other than this one and OW. However, lately I've made some comments on a show-business oriented blog that you had linked here.

Although the main focus of that blog seems to be movie stars, it does delve into politics from a very lefty (and heavy handed) perspective.

Evidently, I've offended the owner of the blog because my email address has been farmed out to every spammer on the internet.

I now get mail offering me grocery coupons and ways to increase the size of my "package" (I don't think it has anything to do with shopping...).

Anyway, it's not much of a problem because all the spam goes immediately into a junk folder, but it did remind me of how lucky your critics really are.

Don't leave us in suspense. Drop the other shoe. What was the site?

Newshounds have done the same thing to me. I never got any spam until I posted there. If you post there, don't use an e-mail!

I just don't post there at any far-left blog, period. Why waste my time and stress myself out? I did both when I was addicted to chat rooms.

Cecilia,

In my case Mike Chimeri scolded me publicly for supposedly not using my personal email address when I made an interesting comment about Jazz music on his blog.

Johnny,

How in the world can Pew characterize the coverage at FNC and MSNBC as being "mirror image"? FNC has treated McCain and Obama pretty similarly, while MSNBC hasn't even come close!

Johnny, what do you make of these inflated numbers for MSNBC lately? I mean, KO w/ 4+ million viewers last night? Newcomer Maddow beating the entire CNN lineup? KO w/ a winning streak in the demo?

I thought O'Reilly was off the mark when he called corruption in the ratings, but do you think the numbers are legit?

Cecelia, you are indeed perspicacious. That's why I brought the graph over here. One look at it and it's obvious that they are not 'mirror images' of each other.

John, I dunno about the ratings. KO using Kos and the blue blog network to promote his show has apparently done him some good, built up a strongly niche audience. But the wild swings lately have me puzzled. What I would like to say is the ratings for some of these recent big nights not counting DVR viewing. That would tell us a lot IMHO.

I'm sticking with my theory that Nielsen is paying BOR back for his claim last Thursday. BOR is still winning in the 35-64 demo and total viewers. I'm hoping it stays that way. But I have a bad feeling about tonight. MSNBC probably got huge numbers in the 8:00 hour since they ran that Obama ad.
