Nothing factual to argue in the ICN report, I would just point out the following contrast:

"FNC has given Obama the ammunition he needs to paint the network in the light he paints it. Without it he's just firing blanks. With it, he scores real hits. He did something similar during the campaign. Like I said, FNC has made it easy for him. Just like Olbermann, Schultz, and Maddow have made it easy for MSNBC to be painted as the liberal network by conservatives."

###
When a powerful government official questions their personal news coverage it is different than a group (who is out of power BTW), points out severe bias towards an entire swath of the political spectrum. Also, it is interesting that many who put down FNC's way of covering the powerful seem not to have equal condemnation for how positive the coverage has been from the other members of the media.

I think FNC should keep doing exactly as they are doing....they are questioning the powerful, making them uncomfortable, are the only ones doing it (journalism ethic) and getting GREAT ratings in the process.

The American people know bias when they see it and I am glad FNC is there to provide the "speaking truth to power," service democracy needs to survive. Puff pieces, being in awe of celebrity, and broadcasting from the very place of power while giving up editorial content to agents of government are not what journalists are supposed to do.

"Media stragedy," is a code word for "manipulation." It's a shame that such cynical tactics are now thought of in a positive light. I would think Obama and his staff would have more idealistic priorites based on their campaign rhetoric.

Uncanny! Another questionable neckline on a dress!

Larry King's wife must have stolen his thunder in Vegas with that get-up she's wearing!

Why in the world does that sequin trim go up under the bosom of her halter dress and why does the dress fabric swirl around her chest like a sling?

Has she broken one of her breasts?!

When will the Heinous Hens of teh Hound House ever learn what journalism really is?

Hannity’s In No Position To Be Lecturing ABC About Journalistic Integrity
Reported by Ellen - Thu 2:16 AM

Let me help them.

Journalism; the occupation of reporting, writing, editing, photographing, or broadcasting news or of conducting any news organization as a business.

Hannity fits none of these categories.

More lies from Ellen the liar.

She also has a post about Cody Willard calling out News Hounds and Media Matters. Of course she twists the story in her usual fashion in an attempt to smear Willard.

Willard was right on about those 2 groups of Inernet losers.

regarding Willard:

I'm sorry blackflon, but no ellen did not twist cody's words, i read her post and saw the video-there is no smear. and if there is-please show me (as for the headline-funny

regarding hannity: I agree with the newshounds why?

one: Hannity distorted the "muslim
nation comments"

two: Hannity distorted Obama speech in Cairo regarding 9/11 (the daily show caught him)

before hannity lectures ABC-he needs to take a long good look in the mirror

"For Obama to single out Fox for censure only confirms that impression. Not to mention that Obama's complaining about Fox's darts while gratefully basking in MSNBC's equal-but-opposite tilt sounds suspiciously like whining. (David Zurawik called Obama's diss of Fox News 'a childish, silly bit of gamemanship by a president.')

"Above all, it's futile. For whatever reason, Fox's ratings have climbed in recent months as the network's stridency towards him has escalated. As long as that trend keeps up, no amount of finger-wagging from the Oval Office is going to make a difference."

###
So true.

I do not recall President Bush whining about the general tenor of the coverage he received....and it got pretty negative.

Sure, "conservatives" or Republicans complain all the time about such things, but The President? The leader of the free world? The Commander-in-Chief complaining, pointedly, WHINING about his coverage?

The only one I can remember doing it was President Nixon....Nice.

Oreilly criticized bush for not responding to all the negative press. And I believe Oreilly asked Rove about it.

as for Obama-he was asked about negative press coverage and he responded-it wasnt like Obama just came out of the blue and said it. I've seen clips that skips the question and goes straight to the Obama response-where? one place was Oreilly's talking points memo last night, cause I watched it and it went straight to Obama's response.

The Babbling Bit..., er Bozos at News Hounds have only one agenda.

"FOX IS BAD. WE MUST DESTROY THEM"

The fact that ABC(2009) and NBC(1994) can put a propaganda piece on national television doesn't seem to bother the Hypocrites at the Pound.

I hope Blackflon does not "agree to disagree" with you.

It doesn't manner how you "read" the story, the "He Dislikes Us" bit is merely continuing the dismissal of Cody as being just another rightwing aparatchik, criticizing Obama's economic policy out of partisanship.

Cody isn't "vitriolic" against News Hounds or Media Matters as being "anti-Fox" or liberal sites or sites that rebut his views, it is a twist to imply that. What he's vitriolic about is being labeled as a political hack.

Why can't Ellen ADDRESS his complaint (rather than merely quoting him in her piece) and say that she either thinks of him as being an egoist mercenary, or that he IS both an egoist mercenary AND a partisan hack... and here's why.

As it stands by that headline, Cody just seems like one more FNC personality that NH is always decrying as being a Repug, etc...

You can label everyone as such based upon an animus against their employer or upon their temerity to criticize a pol who you support, but I'm afraid that ALL ALL ALL you've got in that is ad hominem.

Ellen should have addressed the guy's claim one way or another.

1) go from expressing hatred for fox to appreciation for fox back to hatred for fox in their posts here.

2) appear to go out of their way to bait me into some discussion.

3) are grammatically challenged.

This is not a good assessment of J$P. There are many other posters here who criticize FNC.

In your case, you response to my complimenting FNC on good ratings was, quite frankly, way over-the-top.

My post:

Chris G | 06.18.09 - 6:39 pm | #

Let's assess your statement

1) You chose to imply that I was defending FNC.? I wasn't defending FNC about anything, I was only complimenting the network. Why would you have a problem with that?

2)You chose to imply that somehow my post was telling others that that no one here should be able to criticize FNC. I never said or implied anything of the sort.

3)for some reason, you chose to refer to FNC sarcastically as the 'almighty". Gives one reason to believe you have a huge chip on your shoulder about FNC.

4)for some reason, you chose to criticize my apparent logic; falsely assigning the implication to me that I believe that FNC cannot make a mistake. Never said it and don't believe that.

Essentially, you responded to a fairly innocuous comment with a deluge of hate towards FNC. Again, way over-the-top. For me, that is quite revealing.

EVERYTIME I have criticzed FNC-you have accused me of being someone else. I critcized fox nation-you accused me of being the lil fella-why? cant someone criticize fox news/fox nation and not be called out as someone else by you?

so what fox news is number one, and for it they will be criticized.

and here is some more:

does a fair and balanced network:

1. distort Obama "empathy" comments
2. distort Obama "muslim nation comment

3. distort Holder of "nation of cowards"
comments?

4. distort obama "christian nation" comments

5. claim Obama is going on a "apology tour"

6. points a gun at obama and holder on foxnation.com?

7. clip a video to make pelosi respond to one thing, when it was something different?

8. instead of getting the facts for themselves report that Obama went to a muslim school, when in fact he didnt

9. Oreilly said he didnt call Dr. Tiller, Dr Killer, when in fact he did

10. Hannity said that Obama decided to give 9-11 sympathizers a voice on the world stage-when in fact he didnt

I have dismissed hannity and oreilly has just opinion, however this comes from foxnews.com regarding hannity:

Hannity is considered more influential than FOX News' Bill O'Reilly, who's somewhat suspect in the eyes of the Right, or even Limbaugh, who has no TV berth."

meaning-they have influence-remember when Oreilly went after pepsi for hiring a rapper, what happended? pepsi dropped the rapper
or when oreilly reported on GE/NBC-viewer e-mail poured in about getting rid of GE stock or not watching NBC

or oreilly making up the paris business review, or taking credit for price of gas going down or the war on christmas

more:
Hannity and rove have complained about ABC "unprecedented access-however fox news aired two specials-one about dick chenay and another will bush-saying it was unprecedented access.
white house, air force one, bush's ranch, oval office

Both hannity and rove said it never happended before, when in fact it did

sorry but I dont like fox news 100%

and before you bring up other media: I distrust them ALL!! I'm tired of the media in this country. you had the media gushing over Obama killing a fly-talk about nuts

if this is suppose to be the "truth about foxnews"-why doesnt that get reported here? I'm not in the tank for no-one

Chris,

YOU jumped on Ashley when all he was doing is commenting on a blog headline that Johnny wrote.

He responded that he suspects you are Patrick (something he has ALWAYS stated) you then accused the site of brooking no dissent against FNC.

What sort of logic is that? You jump on a guy when all he's done is to comment on a blog line unrelated to what you're debating and then accuse the entire place of being unreasonable when he bites you back?

Frankly, disagreeing with you is not the same as censoring dissent. You ARE allowed to post here you know. No one here is demanding that you be banned. Johnny lets your posts through, etc. That's a hell of difference in treatment than the majority of us received at News Hounds.

Spare me the dramatics. You started it with Ashley and no one else has done anything but refute your points. Again, that is NOT the equivalent of shutting you up.
