As a quick sidenote, I've decided to withhold my last name for future comments. I've updated my name at OlbyWatch in the same way, going from "MikeC" to "Mike C."
I'm looking forward to the additional links throughout the day on Tuesday. Good night.

Just trying to liven it up a little. I guess someone using their last name to post or not is directly related to cable news, right? Guess I'll find some place else where rules are equally enforced.......

Posts about posting are not directly relevant, but compared to political arguments that inevitably spiral into lengthy off-topic exchanges that can take over a thread, they are relatively benign.

I don't want to get into a debate about the rules, since they are pretty clear. I'd rather talk about cable news issues and opinions.

To answer Vince's question, a few nights ago, I Googled my name and "newshounds" and something I said here was posted there. "This guy must have mental problems," the person said referring to me.
Now back to cable news: There is nothing wrong with Gretchen Carlson. I think she's a fine co-host.

More than likely you will get the "PLEASE STOP" signal from the other 'rule maker.' Then you will be told that posting on a tuesday thread is not allowed on wednesday or any day, but, tuesday.

OS, I know from long exposure and experience with you that you are a good guy who doesn't lash back at people who have behaved more like animals than humans.

That is why I am bit surprised that, IMO, your comments really aren't justified here.

Besides, if you quit commenting here I would miss you.

I am not sure Chetry is the rising star some see. She sometime struggles with conversations and she comes off to me as not up on all the issues instead of just the headlines.

I agree with Grammie. I'm not the police, for crying out loud.
I'd hope Kiran isn't a rising star, at least not ratings-wise.
Mary Katharine Ham is still posting to her Townhall blog and says that she will have a new blog at "The Washington Examiner" website. So, chances are that "Policing the 'Net" will continue on "The Factor" after all.

MIke,

The number one rule for being a scold is to realize that many times people NEED scolding.

"Just do it." That is my not so original motto...

My second "not so original" motto, is "if the shoe fits, wear it.

That goes for all of us (and I do love shoes...).

p.s. I'm not alone in being particularly fond of you, baby boy. Carry on...

Not the least. I was expressing frustration that he continues to succeed. The sad emoticon (which was supposed to be an angry emoticon) didn't drive home where I stand on Oralmann?
BOR just introduced Mary Katharine Ham as a "Fox News Analyst." I guess she isn't going anywhere on "The Factor." That's a relief.

From the "Keith Olberman - self parody" link:

"But mostly his outburst reminds me of how the long Democratic primary has divided the left-of-center media (or at least, the media outlets with a left-of-center audience) into camps, like a bad divorce. Personalities and institutions that were once universally beloved by people who were sick of the Bush administration have either taken sides, or have been perceived to, splintering what used to be a unified and largely uncritical amen chorus. "

And speaking of Keithy, in tonight's WPITW, he provided another OlbyLie, this one about wha Liz Trotta (tonight's Worse person, half-blinking still video image used) said. She never said "hopefully both." She said "Well, both if we could." "Lunatic fringer." [ding!] [BOR's name without the 'Reilly part]. [ding!]
As much as I can't stand Michelle Malkin, I'm on her side when it comes to people attacking her, like Oralmann who made her the Worser. [mock feminine voice]. [ding!] He even took a shot at chef/talk sensation Rachael Ray regarding a Dunkin' Donuts promotional photo. Mr. Misogyny said she was "wearing a crappy scarf" in the photo. "Far-right"! [ding!] "Falafel" (and not even talking about BOR). [ding!]
Worst was Sen. Lieberman. "Hagee"! [ding!] How dare he attend the same conference as Hagee [ding!]. "Hagee"! [ding!] "Hagee"! [ding!]

A brief guest appearance by OTM to say the McClellan story has gotten wide coverage in Europe, on CNN International, which shows the first hour of Cooper, and in other news segments, and on the BBC. It has also been mentioned on Matin. So far, straight news, but the commentaries tend to be at night.

As to Gretchen, I agree with the link above. She offers nothing, and if she doesn't come across as silly and irrelevant, she comes across as mean, but always a couple of pecans short of a decent praline.

I had no idea I hated McClelland. I thought I always rather liked him, and I felt immensely sorry that he had to be a conduit for the lies of the Bush Administration. I have no idea how US broacast networks are dealing with this story, but I am pleased to see that cable news, an instrument by which the dark and nefarious Administration once dispensed propoganda is now a vehicle by which the Administration is held up to the harshlight of day and McClelland is given an opportunity to purge himself of the flithy toxins.

Of course, now that I have been advised by such an astute and informed source that I hate McClelland, I may have to rethink my opinion.

Adieu! Encore, adieu!
