I feel sorry for Phil Keating. His live remote from the Big Texan was infiltrated by Ron Paul supporters.

I'm talking about in the closing moments of the "Fox Report."

At this point FOX and MSNBC are poo pooing story on McCain, even Colmes. I hate to say but it may be another hit job by the NYT.
I was pleasantly suprised to see Patty Ann Brown subing for Martha, see could be taking Hills place

MSNBC wasn't pooh poohing it for the 45 straight minutes that Olbermann harped on it. He must have read quotes from the NYT story at least a half dozen times, and then congratulated himself on showing "restraint".

It will be interesting to see how this plays tomorrow.

Johnny, do you think Media Matters/KO taking BOR out of context re: defending Michelle Obama will gain traction or will the Olbsession blow over? I mean, I'm worried that the MM hit job will reach the Obama camp and they'll take it as fact.

Just so nobody gets the wrong idea, I'm not a far-left Fox hater.

Obama's in a tricky spot. He told O'Reilly that he would come on The Factor. He hasn't done it yet. Now this comes up, a peculiar sort of controversy in that O'Reilly was attempting to defend Michelle Obama and speaking with no script (something that KO avoids whenever possible). Of course Olby will make hay with it for days, and insist that outrage is rising all over the country, but my instinct is that this will not go far. I'll bet O'Reilly or his people have already explained to the Obamas the fact that he was speaking in their defense. We'll see.

Indeed, in the context, O'Reilly was making a feeble, inarticulate effort to defend Ms. Obama. I don't know whether O'Reilly is racist or not. It would surprise me if he were. Most ego-manical characters are so wrapped up in themselves that they find racism (or sexism or other forms of prejudice) an unwelcome deflection from the important topic, themselves. I imagine that is the case with O'Reilly. However, he used a loaded word or phrase in an inapprorpiate manner. We all do that at times. O'Reilly ought to make some half-hearted aknowledgement of that, something akin to, "Geez, I wish I had that one back." The matter would then end, except, perhaps, for a few fringe sorts. This, however, is probably well beyond O'Reilly. He seems to share symptoms with Bush. The acknoledgement of a mistake is simply beyond him. And, I am certain his rapid band of groupies and fans aren't going to hold O'Reilly accountable. They never do.

What is really important here, however, is that the misconduct not tarnish other reputable and valuable people who work for FNC. I can well criticize FNC for giving voice to the ego-manical panderers, O'Reilly (Hannity, Geraldo and North) and never holding them accountable, but I can't let that diminish my fondness and respect for the Barnes', Kondrake's and Krauthammer's at FNC. Wouldn't be fair and balanced ....

I'm so bored with the PC thought police and their non-ending task of determining who’s a racist who’s a this or a that.

this is the level of discourse that the left has brought us to. We don’t discuss ideas anymore.. we seek to label and delegitimize anyone the left disagrees. Whole sections of our culture get deemed “untouchable” lest someone utter an opinion that is contrary to the destructive Multi-Culti PC straight jacket the Left is forcing us all into.

"Oh he's a racist!"... um ok.. so what? What does that mean? Is he an unperson now?

Such weak and sloppy thinking is killing this country .. and it certainly has given us a whole ruling class of totally out of touch politicians and officials.

Mike: On his late night talk show, Phil Hendrie made it a big deal (professional jealousy?) but this morning I have read next to nothing at the media and news sites I regularly visit.
