Please do not let NBC Universal get their hands on The Weather Channel. Disney, CBS, Comcast, or Liberty would be fine, but no NBC. That would destroy TWC. If that happens, you might as well let KO and Heidi Cullen co-host a show. "Countdown Earth."

John Gibson's Olbermann-bashing is the only reason I subscribed to podcasts of his show to begin with. It was a great clip at OlbyWatch, Johnny. My only problem with John is if you're going to bash him, get the facts right about him. Roscoe Parrish is a *wide receiver*, not a running back. I won't correct the "Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles" part because no matter how KO said it, it was uncalled for. But we'll see him again next season on *"Football Night in America,"* John, not "halftime highlights."
By the way, what did Olby do at halftime on "Sunday Night Football"? I never watched the halftime show last season.
P.S. Sorry for being nitpicky over small stuff. I have Asperger Syndrome; I can't help it.

Regarding the "Beck smacks Olbermann" link from Wednesday, I just spent a half hour in splicing audio in Adobe Audition from Glenn Beck jokingly asking Pastor Hagee if Barack Obama is the antichrist last Tuesday with the Olby smear of Beck the following night. It's actually pretty funny contrasting back and forth from the smear with what was actually said. If anyone wants a copy, feel free to e-mail me.

Why do we care if NBC gets TWC? Are we afraid the weather forecast will be given a liberal spin? Mud slides in California shown with great empathy by serious men in navy blue pinstripes, while a women, tres decollete, with a vacuous smile on her face reports on hail storms in Mississippi? In Europe, there have been commissions and task forces formed, conferences are held for dealing with weather refugees, people who are migrating from areas that are increasingly storm-ravaged due to global warming. I actually think that is a pretty good idea, but do we think an NBC-owned TWC will start trekking the weather refugees, or something? I find this all fascinating. I know a few people who actually watch TWC for fairly long segments of time. That's is as alien to me as someone watching Glenn Beck. Mind-numbing. Weather is 30 seconds, tops, on the car radio for me.

It has nothing to do with the latest doppler radar report from Peoria, it's about junk science, global warning, climate change, etc. Programing that promotes this POV from NBC would support the notion that man is responsible for all of this. They would blame this on the US refusing to sign the Kyoto accord. In the mean time the Midwest has had one of it's coldest winters on record with a record amount of snow. That's climate change for you, it gets cold in Milwaukee in the winter!

Thanks for the explanation, David. In other words, we want TWC to stay just as it is so we don't have to face reality. I understand. Reality can be difficult.

Reality is a relative thing, You and I differ, it's not all that difficult. You like to post opinions as facts, I understand where you come from.

"Reality is a relative thing ...."
That's heavy.
We do have different opinions, and that is well and good. But, there is a reality out there, isn't there, beyond our perceptions and prejudices? If there isn't, I think I'll just drop out, move to the Costa del Sol and become a cabana boy at a rich women's vacation hideaway.

I haven't joined YouTube yet and I'm hesitant to do so. I'll get a lot of radical nuts commenting to what I put up. I see it everywhere else on there.

You control that. You can close all comments on any video you put up. Newshounds does that all the time. Then NOBODY can comment.

Johnny, do you have the uncomfortable clip from this morning's Brian and the Judge where a caller asks if The Big Story has been canceled? And then asks where Page Hopkins is? I was only like half-listening and heard the end of it where they both awkwardly said "I don't know" and then moved on.

I can check it out if you can tell me which hour it aired and about what time in the hour. I must have missed hearing that part live.

Johnny: You usually record John Gibson's radio show so I'll assume if he has addressed the future of "The Big Story," you would let us know.

If that's all you wanted to know I can help you with that. TBS is history. Last Saturday I was pretty sure it was gone and we had some discussion about it. But on Monday the official announcement came. You can find the link to it in Monday's link post I believe.

There is a reality out there and I find your viewpoint to be flawed. if you wish to move to Costa Del Sol, then do so. In the mean time I will be here to object to you're POV. It's not personal, just my right to make observations regarding what I consider to be wrong headed thinking. Nothing personal you understand. Post away and let the better ideas prevail.

In my tangential way, I want to point out that "Costa Del Sol" was a great song by the Rippingtons on their most recent album.
Anyway, so Olby showed up just to "interview" Obama and then handed the reigns back to Alison? Go figure.

That's what happened. Stark contrast between Olbermann's interview and Major Garrett's, mainly in Olby's vague generalities and Garrett's probing for specifics.

Hey, the clip I mentioned I want to say was in the last ten minutes of the hour (toward the end of the next-to-last block or during the last block). I'm sure it wasn't in the first hour because I think Geraldo was still there. So probably the second or third hours.
