The Rosenthal article reveals a deep truth. Cable news, all cable news, is failing us by its pandering to sensational journalism, not always, but often, too often. Not every impotant topic has the "sex appeal" of the blowing up of the "Maine".

Goodness! It certainly seems like the long knives are out for Chris Matthews!

Johnny, have you seen this one yet from NB:
" 'Powerful' Keith Olbermann: Katie Couric's Replacement at CBS?"
Wow! In short, from the fying pan to the fire.

Actually I just added a link about that idea.

I wonder how much coverage Bob Johnson's comments in regards to obama being where he is because of skin color will get? As much as Ferraro's comments saying the same thing?

The comments have already gotten more coverage than they warrant.
Kyra Phillips? Please, no!
Greta at the White House? Has some white girl gone missing?
Seriously, I am pleased to see this. Greta has enormous talent, and is a good investigative reporter. Her talent has been sorely wasted on repetitive, sleazy crime stories. Grace is better at it, and O'Reilly can handle this task at FNC. I hope this is an indication of a new career trajectory. Greta deserves it, and it would be a plus for FNC.

philby, I don't remmber you saying "more coverage than warranted" during the Ferraro comment/smear campaign by none other than olbyonesidedkanoby? 5 nights in a row?

Well, tried watching the one sided hack, only made it 5 minutes. Hard to believe he digs up 300,000 clowns to sit through his comedy show. He hacked up and spun the Johnson story, all the while, accusing Hillary of dredging up the past while his fat ass dredged up Bob Johnsons past drug comments about obama, classic olbypocrisy!

I haven't commented yet today because I've been busy creating a new blog. To go there, just click on my name.
I didn't watch "Red Eye," but I watched the Greg-alogue and as much of the Halftime Report as I could stand (I don't really like Joe Francis and he was on) on the FOXNews.com video page. I only heard Alan referred to, but never saw his face. I'll go back to that page later tonight.
I watched Greta Live Wire live for the first time ever last night. I'll try to make time for it tonight.

I don't remember commenting at all about the Ferraro matter. However, enough was said about that as well.

BOR was Worse (3rd) Person tonight. Anyone think what Keith said about BOR only going after NBC News because of him is true? That BOR will stop bashing them when Keith is gone?
I think BOR doesn't refer to Keith by name (only as "an NBC News commentator" or "elements at NBC News") because if he does, he's playing into Keith's, and David Brock's, hands. That's how scary Keith is. The ratings will consistently be BOR #1 and Olby #2, but as with Hertz and Avis, #2 is trying harder. And in this case, trying harder is scary. (Have I said "scary" enough?)

KO isn't the only reason BOR calls NBC a Far Leftist organization. But I cant' remember the other reasons.

Maybe it's because outside of Tucker Carlson (demoted to a lowly contributor), Pat Buchanan, the daytime and update anchors, and the NBC Weather Plus people, everybody's rabidly partisan. I include Alison Stewart and Amy Robach on that list because they've filled in for Keith in the past, and Joe Scarborough because he hates FNC and BOR, too.

I mean everybody at MSNBC, and a few at NBC News. I don't think of NBC sports announcers like Bob Costas, Dan Hicks, Mike Emrick, Bob Papa, and Tom Hammond as Olbyclones. And I don't think you could say that about any of their color analysts, either. Johnny Miller and John Madden strike me as traditionalists, to use a BOR term.

One other thing: I watched last night's Talking Points Memo, and the segment that followed it, again. It helped put me at ease. I mean, they were so many holes in the OlbyLogic. I should throw in a [ding!] just for saying that word.

> Anyone think what Keith said about BOR only going after NBC News because of him is true? That BOR will stop bashing them when Keith is gone?
Well, if I heard KO correctly tonight (I don't have the transcript at hand) I believe his preface to this claim was something like "what Bill doesn't know is..." If that's what he said, then he's lying again. Because he's told this story, on air, at least three times. It's not like he broke the news tonight. So obviously O'Reilly is aware of it.
I'm dubious about the tale anyhow but have no way of knowing if it's true or not. But if Olby is all of a sudden claiming that Bill doesn't know anything about it, when it's clear that he, and thousands of other people do, then that clinches it for me: it's another Olbermann lie.

Greg says on Dailygut that Dr. Baden will be on tonight's "Red Eye." So, a viewer warning, graphic discussions ahead.

Greg *Gutfeld* on *"The Daily Gut."* I should have been more specific. Either way, all I watch is the Greg-alogue and Halftime Report the next morning or afternoon on FOXNews.com. So, why did I even bother promoting?

The HalfTime report is the highlight of the show. Levy is sharp, with the kind of dry humor I've always loved.
BTW a brief clip of Alan Colmes on Red Eye linked in tomorrow's post.

Johnny, thanks for the link to Lauren Green's article.
She seems to have reached that perfect balance between religious sentiment and secular that eludes so many.

I'm not sure if this off-topic but I think it's related to the Keith Olberman/MSNBC bias talk and the corruption going on by the close association with Media Matters, which Bill O talks about a lot.
See this video from Glenn Beck's CNN show about how a comment he made was deliberately twisted by Think Progress from where Media Medias then made an action alert, which was then broadcased by Keith Olberman and then served as the basis for a Editorial by the New York Times
Glenn Beck's Real Story - How the Liberal Media Works

If Keith Olbermann said that night follows day, you'd do well to suspect mass hypnosis...

"This is serious stuff folks."
Vince, yes it is. In fact, it is VERY serious stuff not only as a stand alone but even more so b/c it is just hum drum business as usual for those folk that we see do it every day.
The only antidotes, such as they are, come from sites such as this one and the predominance of conservative thought in talk radio. Unfortunately the audience to whom this propoganda is directed probably shuns anything contradictory. If by chance they are exposed to it they will reject it out of hand based on their deep religious faith that they are the chosen keepers of truth and we others are the sad purveyors of homophobia, xenophobia, misogonysm and racism.
