Re: "Take that, Fox!": Payback, indeed...or was it? We'll see what happens at the next press conference, which, at this rate, will be on a Thursday night in May. (The first one was Monday, February 9; the second was Tuesday, March 24; and the third was Wednesday, April 29, last night.)

Obama criticizes Fox as the "certain news channel" where he's "not very popular"? Let's take a tally here...

One news outlet of the approximately 40 at the conference would dare to both praise Obama and criticise him in their everyday reporting. All the others are propaganda arms of the modern day perestroika.

We have 46% of people who voted against him who are represented by 2.5% of the press at the conference and Obama can't even call on that 2.5% that represents almost half the country? Yet, he calls on someone from a racist news outlet by both name and content (BET).

I'm sorry, but that's just pure cowardice.

"People should support the right to peaceful protest — and not simply support it when one agrees with the subject of the protest. As a lawyer, I have represented protesters (even on holidays!) - those with whom I agreed, disagreed and felt indifferent towards their grievance. I wanted to protect their First Amendment rights. Even verbal denigration is a chilling of a right".

The above quote from Greta is correct.

Liberals hate protestors who disagree with them.

Did you all notice how pretty peaceful the tax protests were? Go to a liberal protest and their throwing things through windows and burning cars. They also are looking to invite the police to treat them in a physical manner then are shocked when they get a billy club to the head or a taser to the body.

Q: What are you the host with the most of?

BECK: Poundage. Cellulite. Big fat cheeks. Sleepless nights. Tears. I have a deficiency of salt, though, because of all the tears that I shed.

Q: Glenn Beck trails only The O'Reilly Factor and Hannity in the cable news ratings. What should you do right now to take both of them down and rocket yourself to No. 1?

BECK: I do have a call in to Dick Cheney to take them hunting.

Q: Here's what Jon Stewart said about you: 'Finally, a guy who says what people who aren't thinking are thinking.' What do you think he meant by that?

BECK: Isn't it time that those people have a voice? I am their king...

Q: Wait -- are you crying now?

BECK: I'm getting a little misty from the idea of people who aren't thinking bowing in front of me. I'll have to spend a few minutes explaining to them how to bow, but once they catch on, it's going to be sweet.

It's shameful how FNC are trying to spin what President Obama said about waggling teabags....He wasn't talking about the folk attending the tea parties....He was referring to waggling presenters....Like Griff Jenkins and Doocy...etc
April 30, 2009, 2:13:29 PM EDT – Like – Reply

Haggis 2:18 pm?

Other folk not sympathetic to the tea parties had the same impression of what Obama did.....

'...during his town hall appearance on Wednesday in Arnold, Missouri, the president took an unprompted swipe at the cable news networks (presumably, Fox News) and Tea Party protesters ('folks waving tea bags around') whose complaints about government spending, he said, were the equivalent of political gamesmanship."

http://tinyurl.com/cnn4gd

###
And this from a place that has not been sympathetic to the tea party cause:

"At his 100th-day town hall meeting in St. Louis Wednesday, President Barack Obama took direct aim at the anti-tax 'tea party' demonstrations that have cropped up over the last month and took a veiled shot at the Fox News Channel, the cable news network closely associated with the protests.

"Asked about fiscal discipline and entitlements reform, Obama seemed to be repressing a smile as he jabbed critics of his spending plans."

http://tinyurl.com/dhao2p

###
Come now Haggis, FNC is not the only outlet that plainly saw Obama take a jab at anyone who believes he is being fiscally irresponsible, like the tea party protesters. He even invited them to give their serious ideas in regards to deficit reduction. The tea party organizers have already responded and are waiting to set up the meeting. I doubt Obama was really serious.

I don't think it was shameful....FNC was factually on target in their reporting as seen by other outlets, including POLITICO.

Why FOX News Still Matters
Reported by Ellen - Thu 3:06 PM
Timothy Karr has an excellent article on AlterNet in which he says, "Fox News' insane rants about the impending onset of socialism/fascism has trickled into mainstream media. This is extremely dangerous." It's an important piece and we second every word.

http://www.alternet.org/mediaculture/139040/fox_news_continues_to_hallucinate_a_socialist_fascist_menace_--_and_it%27s_causing_real_damage/

OOOOOOOOOOHH!!!

The Pups are scared of Fox News now.

"Extremely dangerous"?

Isn't this the crowd that keeps saying Fox News is irrelevant and reaches only 1-2% of the population?

The government does far more damage to the people of the US than Fox ever could.

I didn't see his show last night...So you wouldn't want me to comment on something I didn't see surely.

The interesting thing about your saying that we have DS over any cable news channel, Haggis, is that we are here on this board discussing a channel we enjoy with like-minded folks.

It's YOU who feel you must come here and tell us that we're wrong.

Do you go to other sorts of fan sites, perhaps of music groups and tv shows, and insult them?

You're not here to defend any insults or "lies" about MSNBC. You've said you don't especially care for them one way or another.

If you were at OW defending Olbermann THAT would be different (interestingly enough, the people who DID do that there always disavowed caring a fig for him...), but no you're just here to tell fans of a particular channel that their fav channel sucks.
