I cast my vote for "I'd rather watch Ditech commercials."
Re: "65": I prefer Greta's crew of 5 over Gibson's (ABC's) crew of 70. But that's just me.

Using "First Dude" is certainly professional, even if it the term unfortunately used by Mrs. Palin. Not very professional, Greta.

Did I actually see Bill Mayer's picture included in this group?
He is certainly not a journalist.
This guy worships at the liberal alter.
And wouldn't be able to give a fair and balanced thought about anything.

That was really a crappy move by McCain. I know he tried to turn it all into a big joke, but Mika has been taking lots of hits for her support for Palin. For McCain to then accuse Mike, any journalist, on her or his own show of being in the tank is crass and slanderous.

It would appear that Mr. Palin did not require such pretense.

How refreshing.

I saw that exchange between Mika and McCain this morning and he's right when he later told her it was a "cheap shot".

When about 65% of the public thinks the media is backing Obama, I can understand his frustration, but he needs to choose his battles better than that.

I know the media hate McCain's criticism (they had endless symposiums in 2000 on whether they had been unfair to Clinton, but don't think that they'll spend a second's introspection on a Republican), but it did wrest from the media the absolute frenzy they went into with Palin's pick. They went all knives out with the narrative they launched about Palin's vetting. THAT almost spelled doom for the Republican Convention before it even started and certainly before Palin had made one speech or answered one question.

With today's behavior, McCain is over playing his hand, and runs the risk of exposing himself as an ill tempered bad sport.

That certainly wouldn't be the first time anyone has observed THAT about him.

I am a regular watcher of Mad Money/Jim Cramer and wondered what the heck was going on when his TV show opened up and he didn't immediately talk about Merrill Lynch and Lehman. When he mentioned the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac bailouts, I figured out this was last Monday's show. Then I erased the DVR. So I didn't get past the first two wrong minutes to see the real show. I'll bet that happened to a lot of people.

Isn't it refreshing to know that Keith Olbermann (with the help of the Obama Doctrine), will now be able to do reports from the field!

The question regarding pundits replacing reporters is, unfortunately, true. It is a tremendous loss, and I'm not at all sure we know anything about the candidates or their positions. What is really pointless is anchors interviewing campaign spokespeople. What does that add to anything?

If you see 'who's here?' reading zero, it doesn't mean nobody here. When it reads zero that means that their servers are down or acting up. It can never read zero, at least never when somebody is looking at it. With luck the numbers should be back up and functioning again soon. It's a neat little widget and I plan to keep it around, assuming it doesn't act up like this too often.

Thanks, imposter. Have you ever complained about your hero, olbermann, interviewing axlerod over and over? Did you bitch and moan when olbermann handed bj the check? I highly doubt it.

Johnny, thanks for the NYT piece about today's Morning Joe.

I had missed Mika mentioning her brother's name in her exchange with McCain.

I'm really amused! Ian is one of my very favorite-ist names in the world.

It's my brother's name too!

On the Zucker "Countdown" Article

"I think I'm incredibly comfortable with that program," said Zucker. "The network seeks, and does an incredibly good job seeking, other points of view"

That statement is right up there with Baghdad Bob saying "there are no US Troops in Baghdad" at the same time the US Troops are pulling down that big statue of Saddam.

Ashley, Zucker wants ratings and Olbermann HAS improved MSNBC's ratings.

The fall down with Olbermann's one-sided show and screeds is with the lack of monitoring from the rest of the media.

There's no way the MSNBC could do a Republican/conservative version of Countdown. They MIGHT get ratings, but they'd lose all credibility with the rest of the media.

What I got out of that Zucker article is Keith Olbermann isn't going anywhere anytime soon and there's nothing we can do about it. I feel so helpless. This cretinous, unhinged, crazy, lying attack dog/propagandist is beloved by each and every one of his bosses. It's sickening.

Just like the campaign did with McCain's quote regarding the fundamentals of the economy being strong, which did have more to it, Greta continues to show Obama is trying to pull fast ones just as they were crying foul over McCain's ads last week.

Pols will be pols.

Thanks Greta!

She did include ALL FOUR of the candidates in the assessment and made an excellent point on why she feels none of the pols would be able to run a corporation.

The Obama camp cut her at "but." The truth be damned!

From the LA Times blog on the women's group objecting to the Misogynist Matthews:

"Matthews, through a spokesman, declined comment."

Now that's the kind of job I'm looking for; a well-spoken Spokesman, who speaks for and is spoken for by someone who speaks for a living, yet finds it necessary to use a spokesman to not speak, who doesn't have to speak for the equally well-spoken former spokesman of the often spoken well of former Speaker, Tip O'Neil, loosely speaking.
