'I Hope He Lingers and Goes Slow and Hard!'

J$P Audio! Blue blogs express their sympathy for Bob Novak:

From The John Gibson Show, July 28 2008

The Factor
Great Job Gibby. Keep shinning light on these vile monsters on the left. Maybe they will scurry off back into the woodwork.

Not a surprise....the deranged members of the far left call him the prince of darkness, afterall.

I love how, when a republican faces a terminal disease or passes away, the blue blogs erupt in death wishes and fanfare but when a democrat faces the same both red and blue blogs offer heartfelt condolences.

There are no words to convey the disgust I feel towards these hate-filled contributers on blue blogs.

Actually, "Prince of Darkness" is a term of endearment used by many of his friends, as well. Novak is a very complicated person, philosophically, politically, theologically, socially. He has both breadth and depth, and I think we dimiish him if we don't acknowledge that. I shouldn't be in too much of a rush to put him in our own small pigeon holes.

Novak was on almost every episode of Political Capital on Bloomberg TV. He, and his interactions with Margaret Carlson (blecch), was one of the reasons I liked that show.

As a former Kennedy democrat, I made the transition to normalcy about the time Novak did. We are about the same age. These kind of statements don't surprise me. I am sure Bob lost a lot of friends when he left the "dark side", much as other ex-liberals did, e.g., Horowitz, Podhoertz, etc. It's a leftist club and if you leave, you are out of the club. I will say a prayer for Bob. I am sure all of this venom is nothing new to him.

It is interesting you bring up Horowitz, Glynn. I enjoy, admire and respect Novak. He is a substantial body of well-researched, analyzed and written work. I don't have the same positive feelings for Horowitz. He always sturck me as an opportunist and a charlatan. Intemperate, as well.
Novak's work on the "Capital Gang" was excellent.

Novak was never a fire and brimstone conservative. He had conservative views but he always evaluated politics with a clear perspective. I never read anything that would indicate he was a cheerleader for the Bush administration. What is so vile about these leftwing storm troopers is that anyone who does not preach left wing dogma is an enemy to be purged.

And last I checked, Novak wasn't too keen on the Iraq War - How is he a war criminal?

Didn't "Liberal" used to mean "open-minded" and "open-armed"?

I cannot even comprehend of thinking let alone writing such horrible things about another person. What kind of person wishes a terrible death on their political opponents? I disagree with Ted Kennedy on everything, but when I heard about his brain tumor, I genuinely felt bad. Even though I disagree with him politically, I still respect him as a fellow American and a loyal public servant. What the hell is wrong with these people?

"Novak wasn't too keen on the Iraq War - How is he a war criminal?"
Here's the Socratic-syllogism summation of leftist thinking on the subject.
War is one of those things you cannot be ambivalent about.
Anybody who's not against war is in favor of it by default.
Liberals are against war; conservatives are not openly against it, which means that they favor it.
War is a bloody, vicious mess.
Therefore, anyone in favor of war must like bloody, vicious messes, and therefore be an evil sadistic bastard.
Conservatives favor war, therefore conservatives are evil and sadistic.
Bob Novak is a conservative; therefore, Bob Novak is evil and sadistic whether or not he actually supports the war.

One of the things that annoys me whenever conservatives quote from these liberal blogs is that they almost always use terms like "far left" and "the fringe".
The views expressed by these people is not in any way "far left" or "the fringe". It's basic liberal views. They all think the same way. Just because only a few may write it, doesn't mean the rest don't agree with it. The simple fact that these types of comments don't get deleted should prove that.
I posted on a liberal message board for 6 years. It's not trolls. I never saw so much hate spewed by anybody than I did by regular board members on constant daily basis by at anything that even smacked of conservatism.
Liberals are the most hateful people on the planet. What Jake iaid is correct. It's how they all think. Because if they think it's true, it must be true, and anybody who disagrees with them is Evil with a capital E.

The reason why consvertvs call many Lefty blogs "far left" is because we're using that phrase instead of "insane"
There are some sane Left blogs. I think Noquarter is one.

What I noticed, Jaynie59, in my recent foray into the News Hounds boards, is what I've always noticed about the blue blog left.
That is that they are just sort of silly and creepy conspiracy nuts, with the language and social skills of college freshmen holding forth in frat house bull sessions, and who feel alienated from the rest of the population.
It's good, I guess, that they have each other, anyway...

The inability to distinguish between political opponents and enemies harms our country and helps our real enemies.
It's disturbing that hatred drives so much of the blogoshere's political discourse on both sides. The self-rightous, never admitting a mistake mantra dominates the far-left on-line world. More disturbing is that for many, it has turned into a game and has found a home on a major cable news network program.
