Queer And Loathing In D.C. - The Daily Show's Take On Fox News' Coverage Of Gay Rights March
Reported by Ellen - October 14, 2009 - 16 comments
Well, I suppose Fox was following Barney Franks's advice.
Rep. Barney Frank, the first openly gay member of Congress, says he'd rather see gay rights supporters lobbying their elected officials than marching in Washington this weekend, calling the demonstration "a waste of time at best."
Frank said in an interview with The Associated Press that he considers such demonstrations to be "an emotional release" that does little to pressure Congress.
"The only thing they're going to be putting pressure on is the grass," the Massachusetts Democrat said Friday.
Don't you just love it when the News Pups fall flat?

As usual, the economic no nothing's at the pound have no clue.
Keep in mind that less than 20% of the stimulus has even been spent.

Having seen both shows many times now, Joe should be worried.
Imus is back in good form and garnering good guests despite being on FOX....even the lib Dick Cavett today.
Funny how poor Joe is getting targeted while the "stars" of MSNBC, Maddow and Olbermann, are allowed to languish in 2nd place, sometimes even third or fourth.....DURING PRIMETIME!
I almost feel sorry for Joe and Mika....Perhaps they should consider coming to FNC?....They'd get much better ratings!

I'm torn between wanting Imus to do well and wanting Joe and Mika to succeed too.
However, truth is, as much as I enjoy Morning Joe, I've enjoyed watching Imus In The Morning more.

Johnny, a couple of days ago, journalist Jeff Greenfield was on Imus and launched into the ole "We distort. We deride" bon mot that one finds at liberal blogs. He also told Imus he had "drunk the kool-aid" and made another snarky remark about FBN's parent company, that I can't quite remember.
After Imus mildly chided Greenfield for biting the hand that was hosting him, Greenfeld did a 360 ( Or is it a 180? Anyway-- one of those numbers.) and claimed that his "we distort..." comment was meant for Imus' show.
What a phony jerk.

I watched the oreilly factor last night and noticed they used a bigger Rush picture, just like the one chris Matthews used on MSNBC

Did anyone see the video Glenn Beck showed today? The one with White House Communications Director Anita Dunn. Wow. There might be some repercussions there, by golly.
Also, Beck cried today. Yeah. He was showing some old Pepsi and Kodak TV commercials and the tears started flowing. Wow.

was that the one where she looks to a mass murderer? Cause I saw that. I also saw Beck almost bursting into tears.
another note: After all this Balloon wall to wall coverage, the boy was found safe at home.

chris, yeah Ms Dunn was speaking of her appreciation for Chairman Mao's philosophy of 'fight your own war'. TO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.
Talk about giving credence to Becks 'Red Scare' alarmism. Shocking, frankly.

Oh, goodness!
I spent the afternoon alternately on the phone with my daughter and my husband, as we all fervently prayed, held our breaths, and almost had heart attacks over this kid who was supposedly in that goddamn balloon (Excuse my french, you all.)

Beck was intense today! There was no Vaseline in that show- Glenn f***ed the administration with no Vaseline (apologies to Ice Cube). Powerful.

Sorry why of topic but can someone find evidence that Limbaugh was on air in 1970? O'Reilly had a guest that stated Limbaugh made a nasty rascist remark under the name of Chris...sorry forgot the last name he stated..but my thinking is Limbaugh has only been on air since the mid 80's and in 1970 I believe he may have been 10 or so- I haven't looked his age up because who you's have thunk some idiot would say this- and O'Reilly did not question this guys source and even went so far to say that it was a nasty remark even though Limbaugh wasn't on air in 1970 under his name or this other name. Can anyone that watched this segment find anything about the comment. I sure can't.

In the early '70s Limbaugh was a Disk Jocky in the Pittsburgh area. He used the on-air name of "Jeff Christie". He didn't start doing talk radio until 1984 in Sacramento, CA.
(Above is from Wilipedia.)

Scott, I think he had a DJ spot on a local radio station in Cape Gireadeau when he was still in high school.
I've heard him say that he was fired from more than one radio/DJ job before pairing with Ailes to produce his current (20 years old) show.

How desperate is Warren Valentine to attempt to pull a quote from almost 40 years ago! When the previous quotes from 5 - 10 years ago were proven to be false, Valentine decided to pull a quote that couldnt be proven to be false. So he went to the waaayyyy backkkk machineeeee, all the way back to 1971(yr of my birth). Bill did not challenge him near enough!!!!!
