'She's Been Feisty and Courageous'

J$P Video! The News Watch panel analyzes the Ferraro flap:

This week, "Fox News Watch" found the perfect replacement for Neal Gabler in David Corn. It was painful to hear him when it was his turn.

The 'new direction' the program is taking since Eric Burns departure seems to be toward the right. And for that, the inept David Corn is the perfect liberal foil.

So you think a move in that chair from Kirsten Powers to David Corn is a move to the right?

I hope you weren't asking me, Johnny. (Probably not.)
Anyway, it seems like "Fox News Watch" is going with a different second liberal guest every week, ranging from center left (Kirsten) all the way to far left (David). But I don't know; I'm not producing the show, nor do I work for FNC. Boy, would I like to, even as a mere production assistant. (To the far left trolls, I'm saying that as a college grad with a broadcasting degree.)

As one of the liberal panelists, Corn, with far less visual and verbal appeal than Powers, seems to be a move by the program to the right. We'll have to see how future weeks play out.

I've seen this done before by partisan programs. When choosing guests or panelists with opposing views pick those who are least appealing. An example in the past would be right wing Charles Novak on CNN. Another thread here, and I disagree, trys to put Alan Colmes in that category.

Johnny: Any indication when and if Jim Pinkerton is returning to Fox? Last time I looked, the Huckabee campaign was over!

Excellent question. I'd really like to see him back. He added some spice to the panel, and he's very much up on internet and other new media.
