Re: "Immelt 'cheering for Keith'?": Now, I'd like to submit another new nickname for KO. Ready? Keith "Dinky Subunit" Olbermann. But seriously, that was another great posting by the Cable Gamer.
And it comes as no surprise that KO let loose the Krazy Konspiracy theories in the post-debate coverage on MSNBC.
Mo Rocca needs to update his FNC material. Laurie Dhue is long gone. And who were the other names he threw out at the R&TVC Dinner? I might actually buy the C-SPAN archive DVD. Brian Williams is 1,000x more "Edward R. Murrow-ish" than KO. Meanwhile, I'm recording the White House Correspondents' Dinner next week on my DVR while I'll be at a concert in Connecticut.
I tried listening to the clip of Charles Barron, but I gave up after 30 seconds. I couldn't take it.
One more thing before I go to bed: my latest blog posting is on my frustration over not having FBN. Check it out by clicking on my name.
Good night.

Of all the debates ABC did the best, they sure have a lot more guts tham MSNBC. No stacked audience and no stupid questions from a snowman.

I think some people miss the point of the debate critcism. It is not the questions that were asked of Senator Obama, but the questions that were *not* asked of either Senator Clinton or Senator Obama. In some sort of inexplicable dive into a pool of minutia, ABC avoids any meaningful discussion of the endless war, the deepening Bush recession, the rising fuel prices, inflation at the grocery store, the ever-sinking dollar. No one would begrudge ABC a few moments about Wright and corkscrew landings. In giving the right-wingers some raw meat, ABC is doing its bit to be fair and balanced, but please some perspective. It was an immensely silly debate.

That was a razor-thin ratings win in the demo and total viewers for "The Factor." (tugs left end of collar)
The E&P guest will be Great Thanksed (maybe even Pleasured) for his efforts.
I absolutely loved Flora Jessop's appearances on "The Factor" last night and "Fox and Friends First" this morning. I applaud her for successfully escaping that cult and her work saving people in similar situations.

That's really too bad because E.D. did a really good job. Just on a technical level she is better than Laura as a sub-host, or Kasich for that matter. But it seems like there are some people who just don't care for her, or aren't willing to give her a chance.

Johnny: Last night the demo really took a nosedive with E.D. and as a result The Factor barely beat Countdown.

She is not better than Laura on a technical level and next time Laura is the guest host on the factor I expect you to post her pic for a couple days like you did for E.D.Hill. Laura is a far superior to her on almost every level of hosting this show. I find your anti Laura Ingraham bias to be disturbing Johnny!

Sorry he spoke ill of St. Laura, David. (Michelle Malkin used to be the sainted fill-in; at least that was the vibe on the BillOReilly.com message boards, MichelleMalkin.com and Hot Air.)
"The Factor" took a nosedive because everyone was watching the debate on ABC. Yet, the radical left viewers stayed with MSNBC. I don't think E.D. had much to do with that nosedive.

Well if someone posts an article about Laura's fill-in work that worth linking to, I'll link to it and I'll remember to include a picture! I like Laura a lot, but E.D. Hill is a journalist and a longtime professional broadcaster and interviewer. She has the background and training and that shows.

Laura does a very good job, but even though she is my future wife, Laura just isn't as smooth and professional as E.D.

Mike, excellent point about the debate. That probably impacted cable news ratings even more than the sub-host.

I just did ChimeriSpin for E.D., didn't I? If I like a "Factor" segment or fill-in host, most people don't like it or them. Great American Culture Quiz, Body Language, E.D. Hill, it feels like no one likes them but me.

Not as smooth as E. D? Spare us the professional detail and post Laura's pic for two days, like you did for E.D. I could not disagree with you more - It's your field we are playing on, but I find the response from you to be lame. Like what you do though, just respectfully disagree at 100%

Laura bashing? Not by me. I still have a crush on her. But that doesn't mean I can't make an objective judgment that someone else, at least in one try, did a more professional job than she did. I try not to promote anyone in the posts over anyone else. But the comments are for opinionizing and so I opinionize. You, Mike, and everybody else are free to disagree with me. And I always like hearing suggestions and stuff. Party on.

Um, her picture hasn't been up for 48 hours. It hasn't even been up for 24 hours. It went up around midnight last night. I count that as 21 hours.

The pictures I post are intended to be relevant to articles linked in the post. I had a handful of posts when it went up at midnight, and one of them was about E.D. on The Factor, which got a number of comments on the previous day's thread. Because the article got linked, E.D. got a picture.

I'll be more than happy to do the same for Laura (I've used her picture before, by the way) under the same circumstances. If you spot a good, topical Laura article related to her cable news work, email me in case I miss it.

Scarborough's ego overtakes him, again. He appears to have walked off of Gregory in a spat with Maddow. My read of it is: Maddow started making a point, Scarborough tried to overtalk her, again, as he does with everyone, Maddo says something akin to "Let me finish, then you can dismiss me." Maddow finishes. Next time up, Joe begins pontificating, Gregory ends it, Scarborough ups and leaves. Childish, indeed. And, a shame. Scarborough can be very good.

I saw the ICN posting. It seems like a run-of-the-mill occurrence at MSNBC. Either of the two conservative contributors (Scarborough, Buchanan) clash with all the far-left contributors.

There are clashes, to be sure, not always liberal v. conservative, but often there are good discussions. Maddow and Buchanan post-debate Olbermann was excellent. What set the Gregory episode apart was Scarborough's (apparent) walk-off. I think what is happening here is that many of the liberal/progressive/moderate commenatators simply let the right wingers blow and go. Maddow engages them. Buchanan enjoys it, thrives on it. Scarborough is obviously threatened by it. A confident, conversant, comfortable Buchanan v. a cocky, condescending, crass Scarborough. Doesn't have a thing to do with politics or philosophy, just sociology and psychological. A bit broad, I know, and not at all conclusive. Just thinking out loud. At any rate, good evening.

I couldn't agree with you more on that. It makes his WNBC-TV namesake, Chuck Scarborough, look saintly. Then again, he was saintly to begin with.
Incidentally, OTM, feel free to e-mail me anytime. Hopefully, I won't regret the offer.
