I've long said that the Republican Plan A (and hence Sean Hannity's and FOX News') is to paint Barack Obama as soft on national security, no matter what he does, in preparation for blaming him the moment there's any kind of terrorist attack here or abroad.

Ok, Chuck Todd redeemed himself a teenie tiny bit on my objectivity scale this morning on MORNING JOE:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/30638521#30638521

###
I suppose Jake Tapper's influence is partially responsible, or perhaps Robert Gibbs' sophistry finally broke Todd's Obama devotion trance.

A healthy development nonetheless.

"teeney tiny" is right, Cee.

Rather than bring up the political alternative, across the board tax cuts combined with serious spending cuts, view to bloated spending to stimulate the economy he simply advances the argument that many would say cutting back on any spending is a bad idea in a deep recession.

An improvement, though, for him and MSNBC. He at least made a semantic challenge to the Admin. Too bad he couldn't have offered a few more challenges to the Admin's policy and semantics.

Just heard on FNC that a former Army Reservist killed a police officer in a thirty hour stand off with police.

How will this be presented and tweaked on the nightime opinion shows?

Will KO do a "na na na na Napolitano was right" segment or let the dog sleep?

It's good to see that Fox is the leader in challenging the status quo....

"Now top network execs quietly are hoping that Fox's well-publicized rejection of the president's April 29 presser will serve as precedent for denying future White House requests for prime airtime.

''We will continue to make our decisions on White House requests on a case-by-case basis, but the Fox decision gives us cover to reject a request if we feel that there is no urgent breaking news that is going to be discussed,' said one network exec, who, like all, would not speak for attribution fearing repercussions from the administration.

"'If the president wants to make it tough for your network, he can,' the exec added.

"Another network executive confided, 'Nobody wants to take on the White House, so we'll have to tiptoe through this.'

Nobody? That last part is a bit inacurrate based on the fact that Fox did take on The White House and paid for it with their White House reporter, Major Garrett, was ignored by The President.

Unless the copyright was transferred to you in writing it is not valid. But I assume you can speak for your sister. Even so, fair use permits such images for purposes of reportage and criticism. However, I am nothing if not compassionate, so the photo will be replaced. Have a nice day.

You just got to the heart of the matter, Chris, although "take on" might be a bit strong if you were not quoting a MSN spokesman.

I'm glad to see you here now b/c I wanted to tell you that you obviously have made a very big impact and lasting impression on the mutts. The little thread you started right before being banned has grown to NINE pages.

I like to think of it as The Official Homage to Chris site.

You have exploded in their minds to the degree that this is what they are reduced to, actually broadcasting the truth about themselves:

"Wait a minute....now the J$ thread will be moderated because the other turned into a cess pool?
Could that be because the only point of ANY J$ thread is to slap around the vermin that everyone has so much fun slapping around? And then the vermin show up and act just like the vermin that everyone always knew they were and the thread goes to hell?
Or, even worse, some of the vermin spread their ignorance to other threads (Michael Weston, David Troyer, Marcus, Chris G) and contaminate the entire Forum?
And now the thread will be moderated? Yeah, it worked so well on the mains, so how can it hurt?

Posted by: MLP on Sun 5.3 4:52pm "

Aww, Patsy is going to be so hurt. This will be the first time in his life that he isn't hailed as The Chief Vermin".

By the way, I expected a 'photo copyright' claim as soon as I added Ms Brodsky to the rotating testimonials. But I wasn't sure, because I couldn't tell just how badly use of the photo was actually pissing them off. I guess it was pretty badly. Anyhow, I had the replacement ready to go, and so it has been done.

I think this is another clue that the smear-J$ thread hasn't really disappeared, but has been put into a Sanctum Sanctorum where only the most important drones are permitted to discuss strategy with the Queen Bee. Yes, I know about the private discussions, and have even received cut-and-pastes from time to time.

Re: "CNN debuts 'wingnut' segment": 1) I guess we won't be seeing John Avlon on FNC anymore. That's too bad. 2) I think it's unfair to call Michele Bachmann a "wingnut [Ding!]." I'd give an example of a person on the far-right that actually qualifies, but then somebody here--not that I'm saying everyone is far-right because I know that not to be true--will have a problem with my choice.

I have seen him on FOX time and time again and he often says that people need to stop the vitrall. Now he is going to calling out people for the stand on issues, sounds like a person talking out both sides of his mouth.

Oh she used the ISP threat on me repeatedly. If she had filed a complaint to my ISP every time she claimed she did, they'd have a pretty thick file by now. And yet...I never heard one single word from my ISP. ISPs these days are pretty savvy and recognize crank and fraudulent complaints when they see them. (And complaints to an ISP because someone was posting comments on a public thread is textbook fraudulent.)

I don't really care about the picture. There are high court decisions about the fair use of photos on the internet for purposes of education or criticism. Just like the decisions NH cite for their posting of copyrighted Fox News segments. I am a caring person, and that story about her sister just touched my heartstrings. So I am happy to use a replacement photo instead. Just the kind of sensitive guy I am.

Or how bout Ward Churchill to David Horowitz. Yet another attempt by CNN to smear conservatives by comparing them to REAL, LEFTY LOON NUTS!

Political bias from a "centrist?"
John Avlon claims, "We want to be equal opportunity offenders, punching both left and right....," in his new
"Wingnuts of the week" segment on CNN. As any pugilist will tell you, not all punches are thrown with equal force. And if by saying "so both are members of Congress – one current and one former –," Avlon is equating a sitting Republican member of Congress with a defeated, discredited, anti-semetic, 9/11 and Katrina conspiracy theory advocating, former Democrat and former member of Congress who introduced articles of impeachment against GW Bush, Cheney and Dr. Rice. and assaulted a Capitol Police Officer who was just doing his job, is an example of CNN's foray into "Fair & Balanced," well, all I have to say about that is, "Phooey!"
Case in point: Speaking of Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachman, Avlon writes, "The media fallout made her, if anything, more beloved by conservatives. She was subsequently selected to be the master of ceremonies at the Conservative Political Action Committee’s Presidential Banquet." The implication being "Conservatives" not only don't shun the "far right-wing Wingnuts," they embrace them.
Balancing that out in the effort to be fair,, Avlon writes, "On the left, the Wingnut of the Week is the former six-term Democratic Congresswoman and 2008 Green Party Presidential Candidate, Cynthia McKinney....Bottom line: Cynthia McKinney is what far-right conservatives imagine a far-left liberal sounds like."
Time out! By any chance, does anyone other than "far-right conservatives," not imagine, but think that's exactly what "a far-left liberal sounds like?" Huh? Anybody?

Mr. Avlon, in winding-up his run-dpwn, writes, "...what’s most interesting about this resurfacing ('McKinney’s been uncharacteristically quiet since the election') of McKinney is that it illustrates the way that the apparent opposites on the outer-reaches of politics tend to become mirror images of each-other, circling back to the same swamp of intolerance, conspiracies, and a rigid definition-in-opposition understandable only to fellow true believers."

Right. The return of The McKinney is interesting because "it illustrates" just how insane Rep. Bachman is. I can't wait until Episode 2 of, The Worst Wingnuts of the Week!"

Remember, LKL was hosted by the ladies from THE VIEW each evening this week, and Maddow was a distant third in both the demo and total audience every night.

Olbermann seems to have trouble getting a consistant second on the demo with Grace edging him out sometimes....Tsk, tsk, tsk.
