O'Reilly, in pursuit of TOTAL fairness, should include some his own blog comments for comparison before someone on the right or left pays the $4.95 to hit back at him, weakening his attempt at "referee" (and providing more fodder for Olbermann's next attack on him in WPitW).....

"Just sick of these people hating white people from the king down he hated his 'white' mother so he looks for people like him to hat aslo hope everyone who voted for the king are happy with the country/constitution being destroyed thanks to the media for nothing."

COMMENTS on sites that are not closely moderated and/or cleansed are vulnurable to such stupidity.

BLOG POSTS are another matter entirely. HotAir.com posts are pretty fair, lack demogoguery and are well documented. I actually have learned quite a bit from the posts there. All of their bloggers have voiced negative opinions about calling President Obama, "Hussein," BTW.

Kos posts can get pretty nasty, contain lots of vulgarity and cursing, and be very hateful. Every known epithet for former President Bush was/is regularly used in the recs. Some of their bloggers can be pretty nasty.

Comments on both sites can produce a very bad scene.

Comments v. posts: I look at like going into a bar versus attending a high school debate. I like both, they serve their purposes, but they are apples v. oranges (except at kos).

I am sure there will be kos responses with O'Reilly.com screen shots.

O'Reilly and Beck: We Don't Know If ACORN Has Done Anything Wrong . . . But Whatever It Is, It's Huge!
Reported by Ellen - Thu 1:19 AM

I think Julie must be the one who rides the short bus over at the Hen House.

All she needs to do is Google "Acorn+investigations" and she would answer most of her inane questions.

This is what Fox haters do. They love to take a story and twist it into something evil about Fox.

'"The idea of being in New York City and walking into the Fox News building was like, something that even last year would have been out of the question — unless I had some other agenda going in there," he said with a laugh. "Here I am as an invited guest sitting down at Fox News. It's just so bizarre."'

It's impossible to study about the fanaticism of the Cultural Revolution of China or the Russian Revolution and not wonder "where the hell did they get these people?"

Well, here's another fine example... Some idiot who acts as though his walking into a tv channel is on par with going fly fishing with Hitler.

You think many of these leftists aren't as fanatically doctrinaire as some religious cultists? Think again.

"For Olbermann to call anyone a blind ideologue who screams his same talking points over and over gives new meaning to the psychological concept of projection."

How many times has that observation been made over at OW?

Mr. Zurawik can now tremble with fear for being on Olbermann's enemies list, along with the bonus attention he garnered with the hack mangling his name.

The ultimate prize in Olby's word of hatred is to have a quote read in what Olbermann believes is an excellent impersonation....A small group has achieved that honor.....

Suprise! Fox News Falsely Suggests Specter Is Losing His Senate Race
Reported by Ellen - May 28, 2009 - 2 comments

Falsely suggest? That would mean they lied. There is no lie in the story. Ellen, the congenital liar, seems to think that using the incorrect word is a lie. Of course she has no evidence other than the word was used by Fox.

So, Bill is a hypocrite [Ding!] for reporting on outrageous comments at left and right blogs?

I say no. I'll bet the comment that the O'Reilly hater screencapped was removed by a BillOReilly.com moderator soon after that was posted. Bill blamed the blogs for the comments last night because it comes down to moderation. The hateful comments were not deleted. I have a problem with referring to the comments as "blog posts," though. There is a difference.

They also hate Bill because he isn't a conservative, he allows Geraldo to be a guest, and other nonsense related to Michelle Malkin, whom I'm glad hasn't been on "The Factor" since September 2007. I've said that before, but I don't care.

Like I said, the bloggers at HotAir.com are not flame throwers and they are simply defending themselves against O'Reilly and Carpenter seemingly putting them in the same pit as kos.

Today, Ed Morrisey asked Mary Katherine Ham about it and she was very diplomatic about it all. She does state her ivolvement with the FACTOR segment in the past and O'Reilly previously confusing "comments" and "blog posts."

Furthermore (via sarcasm), Bill is a stupid, clueless moron that knows nothing about computers. Thank God for Mary Katharine Ham (the original Policing the 'Net guest) and Amanda Carpenter for setting Billo [Ding!] straight and truth-squading him.

My point is leave my guy alone.

joe scarborough is the laziest researcher of the truth, EVER. hes also a coward. never takes on anyone, except oreilly and limbaugh. the guests that sit as his table are the ones who need challenging.

remember when scarborough attacked rush over calling phony soldiers phony soldiers? he attacked w/o ever even researching the story. hes a pussy who wont take on his own people, like olberman. the best he can do is "hint" at criticism.

hes a little suckup wanting to fit in.

joe scarborough is no one to respect, no matter where you lean politically. the man simply doesnt have character. hes a little bitch that thinks he knows whats best for the conservatives. thats funny. ask anyone who considers themselves conservative who they respect more: limbaugh or banjo boy. the answer is clear. banjo boy doesnt say a word about the daily beast bitch, does he? he doesnt even have a say in the booking of his show. what a puppet with delusions.

eat s### joe scarborough. youve done nothing but suck from day one. youve been nothing but a token at msnbc, the place for garbage.

I actually think the hard working bloggers at HotAir.com appreciate the publicity.

Malkin, on the other hand, who founded the site but does not post there, may be acting more like momma protecting the pups with a little (or a lot) personal animosity mixed in, based on a bad history with O'Reilly.

O'Reilly did admit bad comments, even at his site, do get through.

Again I, like Rodney, ask.....

Mike, I'm a huge O'Reilly fan but I'm with Malkin in her beef with him. I think O'Reilly should have sided with her instead of Geraldo in the dustup that resulted in their feud.

Bill isn't the most Internet savvy guy out there, so he got blog post/message board post confused. At least he corrected himself. But for Michelle Malkin to say that was a smear is laughable. She's just still mad because Bill said Geraldo hurt her feelings. Boo hoo. I'm glad she won't appear on The Factor anymore. She always sounds like those whiny teenyboppers from that My Super Sweet 16 show on MTV who have a hissy fit because their parents bought them the wrong color Maserati for their birthday. So good riddance.

You're bolder in your disdain than I am, IWNH. In her defense, I'll gladly defend her and any other conservative that gets attacked by the far-left and/or Keith Olbermann...though the far-left has to attack her first and then Keith picks up on it in BPitW or WPitW or even What the Komment (my name for WTF).

i was glad to see oreilly get criticized for his "right wing blog" comments. there is NO comparison to what a site like hotair puts out and the liberal activist sites. oreilly is ignorant as hell about "the net". his experts "suck". oreilly should retire before he runs out of material. hes getting old, lazy, arrogant, disrespectful to his own audience while he egotistically thinks of himself as "fair".

oreilly owes his success to the people who reject the liberal monopoly on news, and tune in to his crapfest to escape. if he bites this hand, he'll have no friends left.

oreilly is what conservatives have to settle for. hes the only option. other networks are too stupid to fill the void, so we settle for bill.

as a matter of fact, bill has been elevated to sainthood practically when compared against the infamous deplorable liar that olbermann is. this has made oreilly lazy and disrespectful (to hotair at least) (swiftboat vets, etc) yes its true that oreilly looks good by comparison, but im with limbaigh when it comes to oreilly: "the man is ted baxter". we need an oreilly replacement. hannity is a boring dope.

i like ann coulter and rush limbaugh. brains and charisma. if you disagree with that, you are worse than hitla.

No, Michelle is mad because Bill didn't defend her when Geraldo made his non-apology to her on his show. Geraldo was in the wrong and Bill didn't engage him on it.

This story has acquired a life of its own as time has gone on. The way I see it, Geraldo's apology wasn't a "non-apology" at all. In fact he said "I totally apologize". You can't get much more of an apology than a total one!

This desire to hold O'Reilly to account for not pressing Geraldo on it is also puzzling when one considers the facts. Geraldo's statement about Malkin wasn't made on The Factor. It wasn't even made on Fox News. It was in a newspaper article. So O'Reilly wasn't under any obligation to confront him about it in the first place. Yet he did so, and got Geraldo to make an apology. And yet this has now been twisted 'round to Bill taking Geraldo's side and being against Michelle...when the facts show just the opposite.

I'm ready for this story to go away--forever. But only when the real facts are understood, not rewritten history.

I would defend her as well if she was being attacked unfairly, even though I don't like her.

And I believe with every fiber in my being the reason she got mad at O'Reilly was because Bill said "you hurt her feelings" when Geraldo was apologizing. She tries to act like this tough pitbull with impenetrable armor and Bill saying that makes it sound like Geraldo penetrated said armor. Thus her ego couldn't take it so she takes it out on Bill. But as I said earlier, good riddance.

No apologies necessary, Mike...My "get along," request was to the parties involved, Malkin, O'Reilly, etc.

Patterico is now upping the volume with some flame throwing, "O'Reilly's a hypocrite!"

"'Miss Malkin is upset because I didn't identify the 'Hussein' comment was made by a civilian — not her or her staff. And that's true. I should have been more precise. But we often cite hateful civilian comments on blogs and say they should be edited, as we do on billoreilly.com.'

"Oh really? Tonight I went ahead and paid $4.95 to join billoreilly.com, and lookee here at what I was asked to agree to:

"BillOReilly.com does not control or pre-screen the files, information, or messages (referred to collectively as 'Information') delivered to or displayed in the Message Boards, unless otherwise noted therein, and BillOReilly.com assumes no duty to, and does not monitor or endorse Information within the Message Boards.

"You're not just an 'elite gasbag,' O'Reilly. You’re a rank hypocrite."

http://patterico.com/2009/05/28/bill-oreilly-hypocrite/

###
Patterico continues on with promises of examples of hate speech from BillOReilly.com and a continuing effort to police that website.

Oh dear.

Like I said at the beginning, website comments by "civilians," as O'Reilly calls us, is like sitting down at a local bar and conversing about religion or politics...look out for some uncomfortable speech, baby....The blog posts are more indicative of the "radicalness," of the site's operators and can be more consistently labeled.

Oh, and as seen above with, "~"...trolls and professional but pathological provocateurs can muddy the waters and make a website look bad as well...O'Reilly should remember that as well.

More to talk about with this kerfluffle, I predict.

I disagree with most of the rest of what the two of you have to say about him, he isn't degrading in quality and he isn't what people have to "settle for". It's one of the best news commentary shows on TV.

You disagree with something I never said or even insinuated? I pointed out O'Reilly's problems with understanding the Internet in response to the first post in this thread, and the rest of it was about how Malkin was whining about it being a "smear" when it wasn't. My second post was solely about what I believe to be the reason she boycotts Bill now. I never said anything about him "degrading in quality" or people having to "settle for" him.
