I saw an eagle fly...
...lookin' south
toward the mountains
'bout nine in the morning
Early September day
Clear
No clouds

I saw an eagle fly...
...effortlessly
riding the currents
Soaring above all
Majestic
Supreme

I saw an eagle fly...
...and that eagle
looked a lot like 2,996 souls

Very nice vstol.

I think Keith Olbermann's mental health would greatly benefit from such meditation. He should try to think of what was lost in those terms instead of the personal and petty political loses he perceives and worries about all the time.

His latest SPECIAL COMMENT is a testament of those lousy priorities.

Rupert Murdoch will end up giving Keith WPitW fodder by saying this: "But it’s okay for [Olbermann] to criticize Bill. And Bill shouldn’t be so sensitive. He should ignore that."
He has ignored that, hasn't he?

Sometimes, Mike, I think the political aspect of Murdoch is over-stated. If you speak with the English and the Australians, they will tell you Murdoch is economically conservative but socially liberal (which pretty much describes me, by the way). And, as I have noted before, Murdoch ended up much more attuned to Blair (only slightly right of center) than Thatcher (by British standards, far right of center). I think the conservative character ot FNC has much more to do with Ailes. That relationship between Murdoch and Ailes is fascinating in itself. More to the point, Murdoch is enough of a renegade that I shouldn't be surprised if he doesn't rather enjoy something about Olbermann's demeanor. I know that goes against the belief system of some of our more anti-Olbermann obssessed-compulsive posting colleagues, which only makes me have some additional amount of respect for Murdoch. Murdoch is also pretty thick-skinned, while Ailes is thin-skinned and thick-headed. I imagine he would trade his soul to Satan to have Olbermann burn slowly in hell for all attorney.
---
I think the SF Profile may have some merit, FF. I have no indication that Maddow is necessarily partisan, although we have every indication she is pro-Obama. This might be a "candidate, not party" issue or it may be that she is anti-Republican without being pro-Democratic.

As part of their school day, I had my kids watch the 9/11 clip. One was age (2) and the other (7) months, babies when this horrific day happened. My husband had a heart attack on September 28. He had just turned 40 two weeks before, right after 9/11. I have much to be thankful for 7 years later.

And thank you, Johnny, for the video clip.

Good for your showing this to your children, Sharon. While I object to the peddling and pandering of the images, this may well be the key tragic event of our lifetimes, and, hopefully, your children's as well. It is very important history and ought not be forgotten.

Loved the recently added article about more viewers watching Obama on BOR rather than on KCO.

If memory serves me correctly, the Monday portion of the BOR interview was recorded four days earlier. The KCO interview was recorded more recently.

So BOR does twice as good with older material. You gotta love it!

You do have cajones to follow "More to the point," with that jibberish.

-----------
"I know that goes against the belief system of some of our more anti-Olbermann obssessed-compulsive posting colleagues, which only makes me have some additional amount of respect for Murdoch."-Mike

You then use a totally unproven, conjecture ladden, laughable assumption that you say is at odds with unnamed, mentally ill posters as a foundation for added respect for someone.

"Murdoch is also pretty thick-skinned, while Ailes is thin-skinned and thick-headed. I imagine he would trade his soul to Satan to have Olbermann burn slowly in hell for all attorney."-Mike

Wrapping up your non-sensical analysis with a comparrison of two people you've never met, two people who have never communicated with you, in a manner that suggests you are someone who has known these two people personally for years, you then springboard from that to an opinion (that's what "I imagine" means) which claims you are fit to judge another man's heart and soul.

Also, confusing an eternity of pain and suffering with a lawyer speaks volumes.

I left a comment to that TVNewser post about Brad Garrett's unreleased rampage in the "F&F" After the Show Show. Here's what I said (and will likely be replied to by raunchy far-left Fox haters):
I watch "F&F" on my DVR every weekday (except this morning, but I digress). After watching Monday's show, I wondered why I couldn't find the After the Show Show video. Now, I know why.
That was very uncomfortable to watch. It makes the Ernest Borgnine experience last month seem like nothing. I feel for Steve, Alisyn, Brian, all crew, and anyone that watched the live webcast.
But for having a show on the Fox network, I doubt he'd have been on "F&F." He's better suited for MSNBC, and a certain firebrand's 8PM show on that network.

Now you figure out the math and you will find MARKIE MARK that KEITHINA has just INFORMED YOUR MESSIAH he is only going to serve(?) 40 month's therefore YOUR KEITHINA HAS DESTROYED THE CONSTITUTION and thus MUST BE TRIED FOR WAR CRIME'S.

Great Cable Is Still King piece, Johnny.

I think the mistake that analysts make about cable news audiences is to assume that audience is as ideological and political as they are.

I don't think that's true for the majority of the "registered" Democrats or Republicans watching.

The only place you do get something resembling an audience of ideologues is for Keith Olbermann and that audience couldn't raise MSNBC out of third place.

Maddow's doing a show right now. First time I've seen it. It looks like she's cut and pasted Countdown's template. Basically, it's hour 2 of countdown where it "portrays" presenting the topic neutrally but adds subtle, snarky commentary. I'm sure many have figured that out already though.

As for the "damage" from yesterday, I would remind you, myself and others that with the draconian "moderation" we now have, none of us ought to assume that there is anything to which response has not been made. We are all willing to pull out your little bag tricks for show and tell at a moment's notice. Never so much as when you get on a high horse.

Your grammar skills do nothing to prove you better than Patrick. In fact you're merely a more intelligent (not saying much) and more sly Patrick-- which, of course, means you are worse than he ever could be.

You're posts the other day, showed amble reason why you did what you did at OW.

Now, I'd like an apology that explicitly states what you did and that doesn't imply that you're simply mollifying me.

You can start with admitting ALL of this, Mark:

"I wholeheartedly support what was done at OW to keep the spam and revolting vulgarisms off the site. For you to call it some sort of ideological purge is both ignorant and dishonest.

Particularly given your own history of creating multiple identities and fomenting pretend debates between them in order to bog the site down in profanity and subject matter other than that of Olbermann.

So I don't want to hear any more from you about Olbermann Watch or purges. Your own hands at that site are anything but clean, and you know what I am talking about. Please get off the subject.

Cecelia, dearest.

I am at the airport, soon to depart for an Iberian business trip. That gives us some time. If you get me a list of all the perceived wrongs, I am sure I can produce a suitable apology. Since I am held resposnsible for posting each and every text which does not mimic your every thought, your every opinion, which alone is enough for you to get all riled up, I truly do need some help on this. Until such time, all I can offer is a general apologia to assure that I deeply regret that I have the temerity not to share your world view and not to hold your every opinion.

And, Cecelia, your proclamation that none of this is burdensome to you is wholly counter-intutitive to a reasonable and prudent person. Demonstrably, it is eating you alive. To the extent I may be responsible for not being more sensitive to your quirky temperament, I am deeply, deeply sorry.

---

Johnny:

Despite my objection to the "moderation" tools you have employed, I do fully understand the need to control the problem described in your 1232 Hours post. Disagreeing with your means, does not mean that I don't understand the objective. I have every confidence you will come up with a better means to handle this obvious problem.

What do you mean "threw you under a bus"? You referenced me and I replied to the post. How was I supposed to know you were going out for ten hours?

Now let me address the-- Mark is so "polite" canard.

After his conduct on OW (which Johnny has documented) what choice does he have? He can't behave as he did there. He'd be booted off. And he's aware he's under scrutiny by folks here because of Johnny's awareness of his behavior on OW and the claims from me and others.

So forgive me if, after his largely being the reason OW closed down for months, and his being the source and the instigator of endless nasty posts and insults towards others who were not of his ideology....(and his possibly being the source of the trouble here-- copious spams at a blog site is what he did at OW, you know. Ask Bob Cox...Ask Johnny) ....forgive me, FF, if I'm not just as grateful as hell that Mark is being polite to me on a moderated board, under the eye of a moderator and an audience who know his past.

Forgive me too, if I'm not swayed by his grammar or his writing skills or the lofty picture he presents of himself (or the fact that he's never insulted you).

Frankly, under that veneer, there is not an ounce of difference between he and Patrick. They have held precisely the same goal.

Now you can admire and be pleased that after Mark/Clucker's history, he's now humble enough to tell me that he wants to make me all better by apologizing for --well...for something or another--- and to tell me that it's just not in his broadminded self to hold the baggage of HIS past behavior (and OUR reminding him of that behavior) against US...

THAT really seems to make sense to you.

So you walk in it. I can't. It won't matter how often you claim that this utter bs smells like two dozen roses.

...why not let me offer my apology to you for all the wrongs I have committed against you, in the past. Sincerely. You are far too bright and too enjoyable a person, with interesting tastes and informed opinions, which I find eclectic, not to be able to enjoy. I can't very well accept or not accept an apology that you admit he's never made, FF.

You're approaching lie territory now. I said he apologized, you asked for proof and I provided.

No, FF, he made YOUR sort of apology.

As you just stated, Mark has never explicitly apologized for the things...as you say... I "detailed".

The things HE DID.

FF, did you let mark and graeme huncker down at your place until Ike blows over? I noticed she was conveniently sent abroad on the day it hit. Did she leave her family home alone to ride it out?

OS, that would make a most interesting evening! I would love to have Mark and (did you mean Grammie?) over, but they'd have to travel 1500 miles to the Detroit area. My doors are open to any friendly people who need to stay a night.

OS, young Graeme, Kaitlyn and Courtney had been shipped off to Aunt Bitta's in Madison, WI, for a long weekend.

There they made earth friendly coasters from scarps of Aunt Bitta's old gardening gloves, to send to the children in Darfur.

Aunt Bitta did have a penchant for fresh tomato and Miracle Whip sandwiches, but she was a pleasant enough to the children and her Liberty of London blouses were always iimpeccable.

Not being an old-school OWer, I don't get the joke CC, but I'm sure it's funny!

Hate to burst the laughing gas bubble, but no one in the family has lived within 300 miles of coast for decades.

I hate to admit, FF, I once did some time at OW, and I haven't a clue what Jeff and Cecelia are talking about. They probably don't either.

Finally made it over, with only scant thanks to the airlines. No more US carriers for me on international routes. The third time was the "charm".

I wish you were an OWer, FF.

We need you over there.

Johnny, if you ever had the notion of issuing an Irony of the Day award, this comment just made it moot.

You now must retire the award before it even exists...

Thanks for the sentiment CC, it's a good deviation towards comraderie that I'm sure we both want.

Good to hear you got to France safely, Mark!

Thanks, Cecelia, and I can't say I deserve a reward, but since you nominated me, I proudly accept with humility. Actually, I just finished a very nice serving of hummus, so, to paraphrase hum-hum. O'Reilly ruined the falafel for me long ago.

Don't start being modest now, Mark.

Besides, your hummus has a way of always smelling like humus.
