Fox Haters Congratulate Laura!

Laura Ingraham, radio host and contributor at the Fox News Channel, has adopted a baby girl from a Guatemalan orphanage. This sunny event was the occasion for expressions of good will and best wishes from the happy gang at the newshounds (another fine product of the Outfoxed syndicate). The bassets put up a simple, neutral post, knowing that the kennel-dwellers would do their dirty work for them. Here are some of our favorite congratulatory comments:

  • OK, I'll say it first -- Mommie Dearest.
  • Much like Michelle Malkin, and Ann Coulter... Laura is probably fed up by the fact that they can't get a normal stable man to [expletive deleted] them, and instead have to resort to the more whiny, insecure, deranged far right republican men.... the lonesly [sic] desperate type. Who else is going for these women?
  • The only reason why people like Laura Ingraham would adopt is so that they feel less insecure about themselves. She throws herself at every man in the world, but never succeeds. This is pathetic!
  • An American kid wasn't good enough for her?
  • I thought she was a transexual!
  • Obviously the repub-LIE-CON "TYPICAL FAMILY VALUES" does not include adopting an American teenager that has had AIDS from birth. Some COMPASSION. NOT.
  • Talk about outsourcing.
  • The C word is saved for very few women I have been exposed to...... it fits her to the nth degree.
  • Poor kid.
  • She wasn't BORN a creep. She CHOSE it. Her venture into child abuse is as sick-making as Limbaugh's would be.
  • Couldn't she reproduce? Didn't Beetlejuice [O'Reilly] say America needs more white babies?
  • Lots of American orphans need parents. Odd she decided to shop for an import. Part of the "trophy" mentallity I suppose.
  • Congrats to her and I hope they have a good life together.
  • Read Ingraham's piehole droppings. They're all over the Internets Tubes, including right here. Enough hate & discontent to choke ya.
  • With so many AMERICAN babies looking for adoptive parents (or parent in this case), why did Laura have to go to South America to obviously purchase one???
  • Joan Crawford may get some serious competition here for parenting.
  • She's a total bitch and deserves all the bashing she gets as she certainly doesn't have a problem giving it out. Is she really a lesbian?
  • How long before there's [sic] animal sacrifices?
  • What the hell is wrong with these celebrates [sic] going abroad to adopt babies when many abandoned or unwanted American babies need a loving home. Neo-cons outsource their kids too?
  • Ingraham has much worse coming. Live by the vile poison pen, die by the vile poison pen. I knew a woman like Laura once, only with a human head.
  • Can I call her a Phony Mommy?
  • She's a GOOD Booble-believing hawgbitch.
  • Poor kid will have to listen to that whiney voice until it can bail and get deprogrammed from all of the "Christian" hate it will have to put up with. Good luck. And apparently no sperm bank could give it to her which was a wise choice.
  • I didn't know the mentally ill were allowed to adopt.
  • Are foreign kids made better? Do they come with a longer warranty? What the hell is the attraction other than getting your name and Photo all over the news?
  • Ann Coulter's the "father"... Laura and Ann are both doing fine... they'll celebrate this weekend by dressing up as TWO MEN.

Hey, just remember... no inappropriate posting over there at Newshounds.
They're trying to keep that site classy.

Just to be fair, there were a couple "best wishes" posts. 2 out of 45. On the other hand, just to be fair, 43 out of 45 are snide and negative. Keep up the good work, you're doin' olbyonesidedkanoby proud. Maybe someday he'll actually respond to one of your e-mails. Maybe someday O'Reilly will mention your fine blog on his "policing the internet" segment. Not!!

I've updated this post a couple of times already to incorporate additional congratulatory comments from the kennel-dwellers. You'll find them sprinkled amongst the rest. Incredible as it may seem, they managed to get even more hateful! Now we've graduated to lesbianism and child abuse!!

Here it is:

Thank you for the kind wishes, Jim.
Ordinarily my simple thanks would be sufficient to the ocassion. However, there is nothing ordinary and mundane about virtually all of the comments here so it requires more on my part.
The kind wishes were much appreciated and even more appreciated was your restraint from following into the pit of profanity and degeneracy that has been so blatantly on display here by the majority.
You are a gentleman, sir and I thank you.

I looked at your post and I think it may survive. You didn't challenge the hounds, point out a mistake, catch them in a lie, etc. That's usually the trigger for instant erasure. I must say I admire the restraint and nuance you showed too!

Only at Newshounds would adopting a baby be seen as a bad thing. And I've got news for them, their beloved Olbermann once dated her! So what does that make HIM? Oh right, we already know what he is. Instead of adopting a baby, he moves them into his apartment and makes them his gf.

Rather obsessed with Newshounds here, aren't you? Some of your posters remind me of little kids who ring someone's doorbell and then run away to go tee-hee-hee behind a bush. Are there any adults here?

No, the 'adults' are all over at the hound's kennel, talking about Laura Ingraham being a lesbian child-abuser. Thanks for your informative comment.

That's quite insightful, Melissa. I'm sure you've opened a lot of eyes with how you got right to the heart of the issue. For sure, that baby should have stayed in the Guatemala orphanage. Perhaps we should pass laws making it illegal to adopt babies from Guatemala orphanages so this outrage will never happen again! [/sarcasm]

Meliisa, I believe at Laura's age, 44, a domestic adoption agency probably would not let her adopt an infant. That and the fact that the laws and regulations, price and time, involved in adopting an american child as opposed to a Guatemalan child is immense. As for how any of this makes Laura a hypocrite I'm unsure.

Melissa, got a cap lock problem? We can read what you have to say without the script drama.
My final observations regarding this issue:
1. The behavior of the Newshound folks comes of no surprise to me. The blocking of all contrary opinions on their message board is standard operating procedure for the left.
2. If they could shut down FoxNews, The Laura Ingraham Show and BTW, J$ they would.
3. They hate conservatives and anyone who does not bow down to their wacko left wing agenda.
4. They are experts at hate speech, vial name calling and lying.
Happy Mothers Day to all!

Wow, when you said erased, Johnny, you meant it literally.
Exactly what era are they living in? With the advent of our latest sexual mores many many more people are trying to adopt than there are children to be adopted yet there were dozens and dozens of comments about how terrible it was for her to adopt a Guatemalian child.

Sorry for making only half an argument. The last point should have included that they demonized her for not adopting an American child when there were so many adoptable children here at home.

Well I envy you the Kreskin-like ability to read the minds of the people who posted what they posted. The question would be why direct this so-called satire at Laura Ingraham? Has she condemned celebrities who adopt from abroad? Has she insulted them, called them lesbians and child abusers? If this is supposed to be satirical, and the target is Laura Ingraham, then how come none of these "satirists" quoted these hateful comments from Laura about celebrity adoptions? If there didn't know of any, then it's a pretty fair conclusion that there was no "satire" involved.
And that doesn't even begin to answer the question of why comments by Grammie and others taking exception to the niagara of vitriol on display were unceremoniously deleted. Does it?

Oh I don't know. That's pretty tame by newshound standards. I mean it's not like calling someone a lesbian child-abuser because they adopted a baby from an orphanage in Guatemala.
If you think vile, hateful comments are out of line, then you shouldn't even set foot in the kennel. They open their comments up to all sorts of name-calling and vulgarity, and then you get shocked at what Tony posted? You reap what you sow.
Meanwhile, people who object to the extreme vileness in the Ingraham thread get their objections deleted. Just like if they dared challenge the newshounds on an error or a lie. That speaks volumes as to the priorities of the newshounds.

There are a fair few negative comments on the rightwing Free Republic blog about Laura adopting as a single mom, and outside the USA., such as:
- ... but why adopt without a father? Why do conservative women like Laura and Ann insist on living husband-free?
-As much as I value Laura, it seems a bit self indulgent for a cancer survivor with a 100 hour per week job, no husband, and a busy travel schedule to adopt a child that age.
-Frankly Laura comes across like a ball busting American woman lots of men find unappealing.
- Nice gesture and all but there are plenty of American kids who need adoption.
- this child has gone from a Guatemalan orphanage to an American day care or nanny.
- I still think if she needs to do adopting, there are plenty of American children who need homes. I don’t get single white women wanting to adopt Asian, African, and South American kids.
-Too many kids live without fathers in this country. In fact, the feminization of American males, and their narcissism can be traced to fatherless households. I do judge because yes, I am glad I had a dad around!
- I’m sorry, but warm and fuzzy over reality is for the libs. This is not about intentions or motives it is about the risks and negatives associated with being raised in a fatherless home. It is also about the long term affects on society. What does her action say about her belief in the role of fathers or the traditional family?
-- This situation is just an extension of the Murphy Brown, welfare state, “a father is not important” attitude that is screwing up a lot of kids. Just because she is entertaining and on my side of the political fence does not make this right.
Clearly, these remarks - which obviously were NOT parody since they appeared on Free Republic - show that mean-spiritedness knows no political bounds. People are people, left, right and center, some nice and some not so nice. So why focus on the reaction on the Newshounds blog alone?
As for parody - the parody posts were of sterotypical rightwing reactions (see above from Freepers), NOT satire of Laura; and I don't have to be a mindreader to know the intentions of some of the posters when I am very familiar with the styles of some of them, from the mains and from long conversations on the OT forum.
BTW my personal opinion is that what Laura did is her business and I wish her the best of luck and the strength and wisdom to be the best and most loving mom she can be, with or without a partner.

> So why focus on the reaction on the Newshounds blog alone?
Well, for one thing, this site is about cable news, Fox in particular. And one of the things we do is keep an eye on the Fox haters. We spot their lies and expose them. We make fun of them when they make silly, stupid mistakes.
Yeah there are negative comments on FR, but I don't read FR so I don't much care about them. They're not a site about cable news. And while the comments you cite are negative, I don't see the personal attacks: lesbian, child abuser, c-word, transsexual, etc. I'm not saying you won't see these comments there on other subjects, but then we're not talking about other subjects. We're talking about someone who appears on Fox News, which is why the newshounds saw fit to put up their post and what led to all the vicious comments there.
I was giving the hounds the benefit of the doubt when I wrote that they put up a nice, neutral post. But when I saw the comments that came, and how the mods would systematically delete people who called the posters on their nasty, vile comments, I must say it caused me to rethink my first reaction. Sure, the hound post is not inflammatory or nasty. But the wording in there about how maybe now Laura will start showing a little more compassion? That was the green light for what followed in the comments. They outsourced the nastiness and it flowed like Niagara.

So that's it. You've got a problem with their wording that might instigate nasty comments.
I guess they could be more like you and just come right out with it. Like you like to use Newhounds liars, Mutts, the lying kennel, curds etc, etc.
So the Newshounds bashes Fox and you bash the Newshounds.
What makes you so superior ? Nothing because you're nothing but the same.

We're not talking about what one blogger says to another. We're talking about what Fox haters say about someone who's adopting a baby. Apples and oranges.
> Like you like to use Newhounds liars, Mutts, the lying kennel, curds etc, etc.
Well, when you catch someone in a lie, and they do it over and over, and refuse to acknowledge or correct it, that Does make them a liar. Liars are those who tell lies. NH toss around the L-word repeatedly, to describe everything from someone's opinion to a factual mistake. I didn't fire the first "liar" shot. They did.
There are a lot of sites that criticize Fox that I don't take issue with. Everyone has a right to their opinion. But I DO object when instead of just stating an opinion, people like the hounds decide to make up their own facts. Systematically cherry-pick what they write to hide the truth about Fox. Lie about what someone said or didn't say. Lie about how Fox covered, or didn't cover, something.
> So the Newshounds bashes Fox and you bash the Newshounds. What makes you so superior ?
That's an easy one. I don't lie. I tell the truth and document everything I say. This isn't exactly rocket science. I just read what the NH say, compare it with the video of what really happened, and--presto!--another lie exposed. That's why there are now literally hundreds of examples of such distortions and lies on this site and in the archives. If they didn't lie I wouldn't bother with them.
