J$P Video! Why is Obama dissing Fox News?

From The Live Desk, June 17 2009

Obama is not used to criticism. Now as President he is criticized and he can't handle it. Rather than rebutting specific negatives he goes after the messenger. And not just in his comments, but in a concerted effort by his staff to freeze out Fox from news coverage. He needs to take the advice of a former Democrat President.

Thank you, Martha for staying on point in the midst of your guests' blather. If you could have explained the neckline of Kristen's dress, so much the better.

What's concerning to me about the Obama tactic of trying to marginalize FNC as extreme, is the silence of the rest of the media.

It is NOT in THEIR interest to EVER let any presidential administration get way with doing this to any news outlet.

Are they actually complimented by the implication they are "reasonable" and considered hunky dory to the powers that be?...

Just as the media watchdogs have stayed silent with MSNBC's lineup of leftist blue blog crap, in a way they would NOT have been if conservative Alan Keys' or the execrable Michael Savage had been ratings successes in their former MSNBC shows, they're silent now.

THAT alone speaks volumes on the philosophical and political leanings of the American Media Party.

I remember the Fox alerts during the Bush administration. They had fox alerts about Bush at the T-ball playing grounds. E.D. Hill fawning all over the place when Bush was wearing the flight suit. Who can forget Bush wasting precious time at his news conferences by cracking jokes with the press in his frat boy style and when the questions got kind of tough he went to that famous reporter Jeff Gannon. There were also alot of people saying that Fox had too much access to the Bush White House. I guess now its NBC's turn.

So alicia, what upset you during the Bush administration... you're comfortable with now?

Either it was bad then, and it's bad now... or you're a hypocrite. Which is it?

It would have been interesting to see how the networks would have reacted had Pres. Bush singled out a network for constant criticism or had stopped calling on NBC's David Gregory or ABC's Terry Moran during press conferences.

The term "nixonian" would have been thrown around, I'm sure.

Mmm, in regards to alicia's strange recollections of FNC coverage, I have a few questions as well....

Did FNC commit entire segments of their news content to President Bush swatting a fly?

Did FNC commit an entire news reporting staff, mutiple of its normal news shows, and hours of network time to run their broadcast out of The White House itself while Bush was in office?

Did FNC have a former member of it's "journalism" crew become a member of Bush's staff and, in reference to the last question, be possibly involved in arranging the broadcast from The White House? (Have you heard of Linda Douglass?)

I could go on and on and on but it is obvious it is all too easy to show the obvious....ONE network that gives NEUTRAL coverage, as shown with statistics from PEW, is the villian here while the rest of the media provides biased POSITIVE coverage of the most powerful government agent in our country? Sad

Who is really fulfilling their journalistic ethic here?

Yes, they did. His name was Tony Snow.

Too bad Tom wasn't able to "destroy" the more important arguments about most of the MSM acting as cheerleaders for the current administration, even to the point of the administration threatening to use the White House press corps to destroy Chrysler and GM bondholders who didn't like the screw job they got.
