Joe Rivett of 411mania.com asks Olby in a post scipt of "Keith Olbermann: Mission Accomplished?" "P.S. Would it kill you to put anyone on with an opposing viewpoint?"
Short answer: Yep.

Special Comment Alert
Wednesday's Countdown with "Him" will be a one hour Special Comment.
Yes, I said one hour!!!!

From Mission Accomplished:
"How many days has it been since Obama declared 'Don't Ask Don't Tell' is wrong? How many days has it been since Gitmo was supposed to be closed? How many days has it been since health care reform has not happened? Maybe then I'll watch your show Keith."
So true.
However, I am glad Keith Olbermann ends his show with a well-known, well-constructed, and well-executed leftist lie....it concludes what he calls a "news hour" with something common through-out every COUNTDOWN...leftist helping propaganda presented for the sole purpose of manipulating the audience.
It's fitting Olbermann begins COUNTDOWN with a totally inaccurate pledge suggesting what he is about to cover on his "news hour" is what one will be talking about tomorrow. He book-ends it all with a lie about Iraq.

As for Olbermann and his whole, "Mission Accomplished" obsession. Why doesnt he start a new topic like, X number of troops killed in Afghanistan since Obama was too busy going on talk shows to decide weather or not to send more troops.

I just saw over at HotAir.com that CNN actually ran a story fact-checking SNL, for goodness sake! I suppose Obama needs his back covered even on a comedy show.
I do not recall any cabler fact-checking any SNL Bush parody. Ironically, the piece mentions the Sarah Palin parodies which were never fact-checked either.

Regarding Cankle's Wednesday programming:
"Wouldn't it be oh so nice if when Nielson reported, the numbers of those Americans watching to see how to reclaim the debate decimated Fox Noise's numbers...."
I would like to place bets on that outcome!
So now I suppose we can judge the current amount of influence he has based on his attempt to influence the healthcare debate with the hour long SPECIAL COMMENT. It will be interesting.

Darn you cee! I had copied that gibberish (what exactly is the author trying to say?) to post it here... but you beat me out... but 2 minutes!
Oh well... I agree 100%!

The person who wrote that really ought to chat with the newshounds who believe that ratings aren't important because there are over 300 million people in the U.S.
No way MSNBC beats FNC in the ratings with this special.

This is an add on for my 1:00 PM comment.
Last month, the President spoke about health care in front of a joint session of congress.
Remember how Haggis always used to make the bogus claim that FNC's ratings never mattered, because on those big event days (such as Obama speaking in front of Congress), it was CNN that the people tuned to.
Well, we know that is no longer the case as has been demonstrated by FNC's superior ratings during many of these recent "big events", including the latest which was Pres. Obama in front of Congress.
From TV Newser:
"Fox News had the most Total Viewers during the speech with 4.4 million and 1.26 million A25-54 viewers. CNN brought in another 2.7M Total Viewers with 1.06M in the demo and MSNBC drew 2.4M Total Viewers with 852K in the demo."
In other words - the people tuned to Fox.

Whoever does Obama on SNL does a miserable job of it, especially when compared to the very high standards set by Dana Carvey, Will Ferrel, Tina Fey etc.
He has none of his expressions, mannerisms, voice and speaking style. I only laughed twice and both times it was at the chart being filled in.
If they continue to satirize him they either need to get someone else or have a pro come in and give an intense crash course to whoever is now playing Obama.
BTW, what can you expect from CNN, home of this:
"CNN's Tony Harris Expresses Utter Disbelief: 'Chicago is Out!?'"

Johnny, how do you think this hour-long Special Comment is going to work? Will KO be speaking directly into the camera(s) non-stop for the entire hour??? Because if that's the case, I can't imagine he'll hang on to much of an audience after the first 15-20 minutes.

Actually Chris - if John T believes it's you, then that is clear proof that it is not you. His comment is as wrong as your first comment in your 3:37 is right.

J-O I can't believe he'll just bellow into the camera for 60 minutes. I mean, he's liable to get whiplash from all the camera pivots he has to do over and over. I suspect he'll have portions that are pre-taped, little set pieces with his narration over them, to break up the monotony. I should say, to attempt to break up the monotony.

I'm with you on KO's format for tonight, Johnny.
He could not sustain an entire hour with his usual Speshul Komment over hyped, histrionic, long convoluted never ending sentences saying absolutely nothing. Not only him but I can't see even his most ardent admirers subjecting themselves to it.

Johnny, I've watched Imus' new show and have enjoyed it, but the set is too cold and busy and I don't like the business people giving the news from that podium in the sky thing.

I think it'll be like Glenn Beck's special TV shows, but with a malicious intent.

Im thinking Keith's special coma-ment is a jump-the-shark effort to be more like Glenn Beck.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Olbermoron will put up a lot of graphs and even pull out a chalk board in the attempt.

Re: secret meeting
Good grief! This sort of reeks, does it not?
What is it? The "Chicago Way" of trying to finesse 'em when you can't destroy 'em?
Surely they should just be a normal Administration with a normal elected chief executive and answer the questions of the public, friend and critic alike... Okay!?

reminder: Moore is going to be on Hannity tonight, that should be good. I'm going to be watching. I watched when Moore was on with Oreilly back in 2004 and thought it was a pretty good interview

Re: common ground
We can pretty well pronounce feminism dead in this country.
During the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal, it was dealt a death blow by NOW, that leftwing DNC subsidiary, that the media had elevated to the status of holder of the holy grail.
Although it's been widely reported that David Letterman awarded women he slept with via promotions and such, they'll be no discussion of THAT aspect of the scandal.
The memory of Clinton moving Lewinsky around to plum assignments (Texas gov, president candidate and then UN Ambassador Bill Richards PERSONALLY went to her apartment to offer her a job at the UN...) is too fresh.
I agree with Bernie Goldberg that had it been Rush Limbaugh at the center of this the 'hypocrisy factor' would have nonstop coverage. However, ONLY covering the hypocrisy factor is a short shift of the issue no matter who is involved.
Whether politicizing a sexual scandal when it's a conservative or making it only a gossip tidbit when it's anyone else, it's evident that any discussion of the sexual dynamics and power imbalances -- things liberals used to care about-- is completely done. You can stick a fork in it.
The "hypocrisy factor" of DNC operatives and apologists-- Gloria Steinem and Patrica Ireland, has set back feminism for a least another decade.

Michael Moore on Hannity tonight was great! I felt a little cheated when Hannity got the last word in what was obviously a longer discussion off the air...

Michael Moore's interview was mostly Michael Moore reprhasing questions back to Hannity. In my opinion Hannity has never been a good interviewer.
But there was one issue where he made Moore uncomfortable. That was the issue of money. He looked like he felt uncomfortable with the issue.
Of course, someone who uses the very system that he bashes to enrich himself should be uncomfortable.
I haven't seen his new film yet but if it is like some of the others it will have many distortions and outright lies.
I saw Sicko and that had many distortions as well.
One of teh biggest lies in his 911 film was the controversy over the Saudi's getting out of the country.
His Columbine film should never had been made. It was like trampling on the graves of the people who got killed.
